I understand that, but you're only setting your platform up for short term gain, in 2 years, 3 yeara where will you be with ddr3 RAM? stuck well behind with a DDR3 capable mboard, perhaps a LG1150 type old CPU and THEN you'll have to build an entire new build.
Kaizen is a japanese concept, small continuous improvements are always better and cheaper than a massive overhaul in a few years time

CL14 DDR4 2400mhz is slower than CL11 DDR3 2400mhz. Anyway choosing a newer platform on the basis of RAM is quite amusing in itself.

Yes true, but for the majority of us that would entail looking for a hot deal for a newer DDR4-compatible motherboard as well.

Are you guys nuts? You can get 16GB DDR4 Corsair RAM for less!
DDR3 RAM is literally last gen now paying nearly 60 quid for it is crazy

Seems quite cheap. Will these be better than those two 8MB sticks I bought for nearly £200 a few years ago?

Hot. Got this for free! Ordered from Amazon and the lazy area driver didn't want to deliver late sunday night so set the parcel as "missing" on his little pda. Contacted Amazon got refund, next day he delivered it too.

Looks good memory and I would have been tempted with this if I had not just bought some, but also it looks too tall to fit under my processor heat sink.
WORTH CHECKING MEMORY WILL PHYSICALLY FIT INTO YOUR PC BEFORE BUYING AS THIS IS NOT THE MORE COMPACT VARIETY (A LOT HIGGER THAN MOST).
Hot as a very good deal for memory with great reviews.

Did you see how tall this memory is? Can't seem to find the information online.

Great advice. I had to remove the heatsinks on some corsair vengeance to get it to fit under my cpu cooler. It works fine without as it's basically just for decoration but obviously this voids the warranty. Corsair are probably the worst on honoring warranties at the best of times so no chance.
The 2400 at CL11 should be faster. The actual performance difference you'll see is marginal depending on how the application uses ram: http://techbuyersguru.com/does-ram-speed-matter-ddr3-1600-vs-1866-2133-and-2400-games?page=2. Probably better off spending the price difference elsewhere.
I believe corsair actually has a UK rma address now also in Scotland. Crucial have way better customer service though.

Okay, that is good. I had looked at some benches of ram speeds and performance, which did include iGPU but was Intel only. Intel iGPU doesn't benefit as much; think it's due to i5+ having larger caches.
You're correct. For most Intel CPUs with the exception of some of the lower Skylake DDR4 i3 models like 6100, 6320 etc. There is very little difference.

With an AMD APU this will give about 25% noticeable improvement in rendering speed, so it's a bit niche, but worth it if you can't upgrade your GPU.
Okay, that is good. Think the Crucial posted earlier is a better deal: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/crucial-ballistix-elite-ble2cp8g3d1869de1tx0ceu-16gb-kit-8gb-x-2-ddr3-pc3-14900-2444900
As lucifon said, any new PC build wouldn't be DDR3 so it seems poor value to pay 25% extra (£57.99 / £46.18) for the extra speed. The Crucial is CL9 vs CL11 so not sure if the speed difference is that big anyway. Also, if something goes wrong in a few years, Crucial's RMA address is in Glasgow, while AFAIK Corsair is in the Netherlands. EDIT: still voted hot though

Tempting, but feels like I'd barely notice the difference over 8gb. Especially when if I was to build a new PC in the next few years it wouldn't use DDR3 anymore.
