No good you can only watch it if your on the same network ( ie ) in the same house,
your better off using an old phone that's got a camera and downloading ATHOME camera
and its free you can watch from anywhere.

It used to be common to call a standard UK wall socket a 13 amp socket because that was the max fuse rating of the BS 1363 plug, so a standard UK 3 pin plug became known as a 13 amp plug.
Because before BS 1363 we had 2, 5 or 15 amp plugs.

Hear it much less these days though.

The reviews seem to indicate that you can view remotely, just a little tricky to setup.

Manual states it can be accessed from anywhere in world via the clever dog app, with no requirement to purchase fixed IP etc.

USB standard is 500ma even a ipad pro only needs a 2A charger :smiley: what he/her is asking is were did you get 13A or are you thinking of a 230v plug with a 13a fuse in it ?

Regular phone chargers are around 1A-3A. They don't have 13A fuses either...

It is tricky to set up. Took a few goes and needed a youtube video. Once set up it works fine. Mine needed to be in the same room as the router. I can watch it over the web at work, no problem.

WRONG - I have this camera and that is wrong - you can see it anywhere in the world

Mine works fine, if people are binning them, then I'll have them :-)

Only HUGE issue is - it is useless at night if used to see through a glass window

took at this price. do the motion activation and night mode work ?

I have one in the garage. just use an old phone charger to power it. motion detection works fine. night mode gives good image quality. it doesn't work if you point it out of a window at night, the it just reflects and the camera picks up the reflection. most cameras will though. my home WiFi is we my phone is O2 I have no problem viewing the alerts remotely on my phone. you can even talk via the built in speaker which has made the wife jump a couple of times. I have now grown up, but still have an aversion to capital letters. well worth the money.

it's an IP camera, yes most providers in the UK use dynamic IP addresses but unless your connection drops daily it wont be an issue

there are ways around that anyway though and most people with even basic internet knowledge will be able to connect to this from anywhere

the "wifi version doesn't support 3/4g" bit means that you can't connect this directly to 3/4g it must be connected to your wifi network (like most IP cameras)

just like a normal ipad doesn't support 3/4g, as they only have wifi but the 3/4g ipad versions do

it doesn't need an IP address you log into the camera using your email address

What will happen is if the company in China that run the system goes bust then the key features will stop working

The most annoying thing about this camera is they won't allow you to turn off the night vision LED's - so useless when pointed out of a window at night

everything online / connected to your network needs an IP address

I have it and get on well with it. I can yell at the dog to get off the sofa when I am at work and watch the hubby sit n scratch his nuts when he has been on nights :smiley: It's a cheap in house camera, you get what you pay for,

Sorry but the more you comment, the less you seem to know what you're on about. It's an IP camera and can be accessed from anywhere with a little no how.

This is not correct. All devices on the home network will be allocated an IP address.
You can then port forward this to your external address.
The vendor provides service is not needed so if they go bust this will work fine (just not their service which is not needed for remote view)

yes you get alerts on your phone.

And what form does that alert take? Is it a still or video of what caused the motion, or is it just a text saying "The camera has detected motion" and i'd have to immediately log in to see what it was or if I didn't then i'd miss it?

You get a still photo alert. Brilliant piece of kit!

I've received mine today, easy set up on my android and it works like a dream, motion detector is working flawlessly and the picture is good.
Once you set it up on your iphone or android phone i recommend to download Windows app so you can access the device from any PC/Laptop.

Correct, and i believe 32GB is max you can put in as it it didn't work with 128GB.

I ordered 2 of these. followed instructions, blue flashing light, tick, recognise camera, add, tick, log in with password, tick, network timeout trying to log into the camera/system. Reset, delete, made sure wap2 security on router. Still nothing, just sits there blinking at me. tried on a android phone and an android tablet. Anyone any ideas?

Did you go into the wifi setting in app settings need to scan find your router put the password sorted.

It works with 4G, but it doesn't work with WiFi 5GHz, you have to use standard 2.4GHz.

Strange, the one i've got worked like a dream. Got it plugged to the laptop, installed app from android store on my mobile, set up email and password, added home wireless with wifi key and off you go...
Did you try on different laptop/PC?

Hi folks, having problems connecting the camera to the network.

When I go to the Wifi option in settings, it brings up the networks so I select the relevent network and enter the password and it says "Sending" and then "Verify VM-guest-XXXXXX WiFi Connection"

Then it just returns to the page with the various wifi connections on but doesn't show anything to indicate it is connected to the one I selected.

Anyone got any ideas?

BTW this is a VM Hub router i'm using.

Update, managed to resolve it. Messed around with my router for ages, but I think the resolution was using a different phone (HTC One (M7)) instead of my Google Nexus 6P.

Question though, does anyone else's camera make a "shhhhh" sound, a bit like white noise or water running in pipes.....

Not impressed with the night mode LED's. Do they switch off in the daytime or will it never be able to "see" through windows because of the reflection?

There is some noise, but you can still hear people talking, as for the reflection through window, during the day it's ok, but during the night when night mode kicks off it's impossible to see through...
