Hmm...something tells me you've been using the wrong shops on the PC if you think it's going to be cheaper, even with those points you listed.

We can buy from foreign markets too, plus gamesharing makes everything half price on top of that. I get games cheaper on xbox than pc most of the time now.
Pre-ordered for £37.04 mainly interested in the remaster but if Infinite Warfare has a good campaign that'll be nice
I do feel sorry for console owners, I really wouldn't be able to buy a lot of games if I gamed exclusively on console, though Sony's digital sales are definitely better than they used to be in both price and frequency.

I'm not buying these new COD in space games. Haven't bought BO3 (played the beta, was dreadful), bought Advanced Warfare for campaign for £8 etc. They haven't made a decent game since 2010.
Just remaster COD4, MW2 and World at War and I would be happy to buy that.

For reference I solid 60fps at 1080p on high with an i5 2500k and an R9 285. Certain areas on some maps cause a drop to around 45 which is annoying but still playable.
My issue was getting the damn thing to run. Flat out wouldn't boot - turns out after fixing issues on blops1 bloody dual monitor support still isn't really a thing though... but I digress. It's not perfect but nowhere as bad as people make out.

At least the price is getting better...
I stopped at Advanced Warfare after preordering both the game and season pass - not many people buy the DLC for multiplayer so you never actually get a game. Waste of money really no matter how cheap it is :disappointed:

Infinity ward of CoD4 and MW2 is not the same IW we have today - most of thier staff (including their heads), went on to form Respawn Entertainment (aka the Titanfall developers).
Not voting on this deal (still doesn't feel particularly great), shady move by Activision but hey, the will sadly be enough people that will buy in to this type of deal. I don't doubt there will be a stand-alone release for the Remaster, but probably toward the next release of CoD in 2017.
If you have a beefy rig sure, but it's pretty unoptimised in a lot of areas. Not to mention auto-aim on PC messes up the balance. Sadly there hasn't been a decent PC port of CoD since 4 (still waiting on that promised mod support 6 months on).

Great price for CoD4 alone, getting Infinite Warfare with it is a bonus. People saying it's dumb to pay for a few texture upgrades or whatever really have no idea what they're talking about. No one is interested in the visual upgrades, the revitalised community is why people want the remaster. No doubt the CoD4 server's will be the most populated of all their games.

Contrary to many PC gamers I actually like matchmaking. Being able to invite friends into a party then search for games is better for quick play. There should be a server browser for community servers as another option though.

Boycott the legacy edition because it is outrageous that they are trying to get sales for this piece of crap through the masterpiece COD 4 which they didn't even work on in the first place (as they are not the original Infinity Ward team) and even now Ravensoft is doing the remaster.
If you buy this you're just giving them more money to make crap like this. Better to just wait for a separate release for COD 4

Yeah, because that's exactly what I said, moron.
Guarantee they're not recreating it from scratch anyway, there will be re-used textures and models from the last few games just ported into this engine, and who cares if they set up new servers, they should let us run our own dedicated servers like we were able to back then, matchmaking has forever been trash. PC gamers at least will be more willing to fork out the unnecessary excess just for that.

You managed to pick the one PC port that actually was good. Sadly, Treyarch can be just as bad. Black Ops 1 didn't run well for a friend of mine because he had a dual core chip which, let's face it, is ridiculous when you think about the ID Tech engine involved. Also, another friend I know who always buys the latest CoD has stopped playing Treyarch's Black Ops 3 because of issues with the game.
And don't get me started on the post-Zampella/West Infinity Ward. They're a shadow of their former selves.

4 May 16#37
Used to play MW and MW2 religiously. It's actually embarrassing how long I spent on them but I'm certainly not going to pay the crazy RRP of the legacy edition on X1 to play one game that technically I've already played. I'd pay this price for the X1 version though. I've got a gaming PC that this would look great on but I only really play multiplayer and don't get on with keyboard and mouse gaming. I'd spend most of it pressing the respawn button :disappointed:

4 May 16#29
If they don't release the remaster as a seperate purchase this will be the biggest fail in COD history... they know damn well that more people want the remaster than the space shooter !

4 May 16#36
This is why I don't think they will do it, why jeopardise sales of there "main" game? I wouldn't be surprised if you need the infinite warfare disc in order to access the remaster lol
CookieMunzta
4 May 16#35
Depends which of their dev teams is doing it. Treyarch have a good history of PC development, Black Ops II for example was fantastic on PC.
Sledgehammer, and to an extent Infinity Ward, are the ones who've really let the team down.

Why do they need to remaster Modern Warfare for PC? Just bump the resolution to 4K, boom remaster!

The remaster actually looks like a remake, as generic objects and textures have been completely replaced and the lighting completely revamped etc etc.
