If you are the kind of person who isn't that bothered about your car and usually drives around without bothering to clean it, then this is a good deal. However if you are concerned about keeping the paint in good condition, especially on a black car then steer well clear of thee automated car wash machines.
The problem is of course that dirt collects on the cleaning brushes and it is propelled at high speed by the spinning action.

Harsh comment so heat added to negate the cold vote.

There are a couple of IMO/ARC car washes on my weekly routes and at £1-50 they are good value sometimes £1.20
For a Quid I will Definitely be stopping at Morrison's.

Yep, I used to take my old car through these because it was blue and ten years old. Never did more damage than the dealer, with the compulsory bucket of grit wash they all seem to do. Still got top book on trade in...
My new one is black - bit of a pain, everything shows up. Need the right stuff to keep it clean and swirl free. It's ok for me as I have a driveway and all the stuff stored in the garage, so it's not too laborious.
A lot of people live in flats or don't have parking near their house, so handwashing would probably be a massive chore?

That's not the only risk. A few years ago, a family member of mine went to use an automated car wash and came out of it with the entire paintwork on the car ruined. Apparently, because that specific car wash had not been used for a while, the detergent in there had pretty much expired and caused it to react with the paintwork. Obviously, the car wash refused all liability (rightly so, I guess, as you use them at your own accord) but that was approx. £1000 lost of the value of the car. I'd stay well away from these.

That reminds me of the time I got drunk and soaked the car wash brushes in paint stripper :smirk:

I'd sooner spend my pund on some Brillo pads and do a proper job on my paintwork.

Bargain. If only my car was bronze instead of light blue
Odds are it leaves fewer scratches than a paid-for hand wash or jet wash, though

If anyone's thinking of trying this in Leeds don't bother! Kirkstall has no car wash, Swinnow Rd only has jet wash and Harehills doesn't even have a petrol station. Yes, I went to all 3.

I drove along every isle in the shop but couldn't find it. In the end, the police removed me for health & safety reasons and told me to use either a hand basket or trolley next time :stuck_out_tongue:

Same price in Ipswich did a really good job on my car considering it was covered In dirt. Their is some dirt patches left in some of the hard to reach places but nothing that a bit of water and a sponge wouldn't solve highly recommended for £1
