Used to have pedal bin before this one but it was like a trebuchet. Put your foot on the pedal, nothing, bit more, nothing, more, until whoosh, and the thing lifted itself up and the lid would smack the wall behind it several inches away. It was the bin equivalent to Arkwrights till! Posessed!

Out of the box? It IS the box I use with a bin liner in. The bins in the loft so I dont scratch it. Too expensive to use! lol.

Saw red one in Dumfries store. Advertised as reduced as was display item so doubt there will be many available in each store. Check if you are going to buy as noticed this one had a lot of marks / scratches. I didn't buy as don't need one but think the original price is a joke

My MIL bought me one of these and it is a bit temperamental. I quite often have to manual open the bin with my hand *gasp!* You're better off with a foot pedal operated bin.

Yup, Brabantia have been great with me too. Bottom part (the bit on the rim of the bin lid, not the lid itself) broke for me and they sent a whole new lid which would have cost £30 to buy but free of charge to us. No proof, no quibbles. Also, the rotary clothes line we bought, only recently bought it and one of the arms bent by accident from an overly excited young son helping peg the washing out, so they sent us out a whole new rotary line. Again, no hastle. You get what you pay for. Wouldnt pay full £109 price but paid around £60 for our touch bin and it's been spot on. Looks as good as the day we bought it many many years ago.

I claimed for a free catch recently and I didn't have my receipt but they still honoured it ☺

Don't buy! Just wait till one of the bullet flip lid top bins come on sale again. I paid a couple quid for ours, reduced in B&Q, real bargain, they're good and do what it says on the tin (bin!). Be careful though, you can get ripped off even for these - Tesco is charging 9 quid for them! £2, good deal. £9 is just taking the mick, but then there are loads of Micks out there and Tesco know it!
Tesco bin, don't buy - too dear. Like the brabantia one.

Had to replace the catch a couple of times.. but they are only a couple of quid from ebay
My receipts stuck inside the outer bin just in case we need to claim.
