"B grade" from OcUK. Dropped only 5 times or less.

Secondhand cards from Overclockers? Not even for £100.....

Big risk with no description of why the condition is rated as 'B grade.'

'B grade' from OcUK is just a catch-all term for open box customer returns. It's not a condition rating beyond that.

OcUK like to sell returned goods as new as long as it works and has all the accessories. B Grade means it's missing accessories.

I've bought a couple of B grade things from overclockers in the past and both were essentially brand new with all accessories, but this may not anyways be the case. If you're a forum member you can post in Customer Services and someone will go have a look at a particular item and let you know what's included.

Not in my experience, and my experience includes buying several B-grade items from them. Only one had an issue, which was cosmetic, but bothered me enough to return it. The others were open box as new.

Hahaha..not only an AMD but a b grade AMD- can there be nothing more ****-like?!

Just a couple of simple question: if I fit this in my PC will I require to plan an extension for my house to fit the extra large desktop in and also will I have to let the national grid know what times I want to use my PC to game?

I'd wait for the 4xx series - It's about the same power, very close price tag, but much lower wattage, so crossfiring it would be a good future proof plan.

is this card better than the GTX 970? I've been keeping an eye out for a cheap one to replace my gtx670 and figure they'll drop in price soon. I also like the Nvidia cards for the physX feautres.

I've brought maybe half a dozen or so b-grade items from OcUK over the years and everyone has gone back. The only saving grace is the customer service is loads better than it used to be.

The 970. Just avoid AMD completely, they're not worth your time.

Digital Foundry typically use the 390/970 to compare during tests, so, quite similar at times.

Got one myself. It benchmarks better at 1080 but you'll get more benefit running it at 1440p and 4k compared to the gtx 980

Right on....rubbish AMD- there is a reason why Nvidia have 80% plus of the GPu market. Quality people understand quality.

Don't make this into, yet another, Nvidia vs AMD thread. Give people facts and leave it at that. The last thing we need are comments like Spark's which don't inform anyone. If Digital Foundry find the 970 and 390 to be fairly similar in performance (and show it in umpteen videos a week), that's good enough for me and anyone else wanting to see what either can do.

Yes console FTW
In all seriousness though, the PS4 does have the best game ever invented solely on its platform which is Uncharted 4 and somehow they managed to beat PC gaming on the graphics too.

Not surprised you resorted to an unrelated insult given you have nothing to back up your original comment.

Look I backed AMD for years until I finally just gave in last year and admitted what most people had been saying all along. The price/performance ratio just isn't there in real terms with AMD.
You end up with a card that costs slightly less but performs worse in games most of the time whilst it also runs at a far higher temperature and consumes far more power than its Nvidia equivalent.

Had a mix of nvidia and AMD cards over the years and both are great. Generally you get more for your money with AMD.... By more I mean fps, heat, noise and sometimes less optimised drivers

This to me is the best crystal ball view of how the GPU playing field will change. The shift to smaller die sizes is where the industry needs to go as it will bring greater performance from combining multiple gpu's (essentially crossfire/sli) whilst reducing cost to buyers because they can harvest more viable chips from a wafer. This is where AMD will have the advantage because of its console dominance as developers will make it work with AMD gpus first.
As a gaming experience as a whole, simply nothing touches it, nothing.

The only problem [for me] was the size of this card. Anyway, I thought it deserved heat. Good find at the time OP.

most def. unbelievable that you put up any thread if any gpu and people seem ti lose their s**t about it and go right off topic. would be good if the mods could sort out the trolling and ensure it is only constructive criticism thats given on threads. i get the feeling its just people trying to get their comment count up. anyway hope it was useful for someone

It was a good deal - £100 cheaper than retail prices. It's just sad that people have to turn the thread into a gpu "allegiance" argument.
