I know that its apple and some will hate, but the code 6WTKT it takes 20% off the price - I've been looking around for these and haven't found a better price yet!

Can't be used on Apple products, meaning you'll be stung with the difference when they bill you later on.

Very are efficient when it comes to catching out customers using codes they either aren't eligible for or shouldn't be using.

They're also very good at not telling you that you'd been charged for it either, whether its to your credit account or as a later bill.

Best advice is to use a credit card and then fake your own death once it's delivered.

What constructive information did you post that's any more useful than "YAWN"?

The fact someones own choice to buy this over Microcrap makes them somehow stupid?

Your comment is the ignition that sparks the same old Apple vs Windows argument that jams up threads like these instead of sticking with the deal. And I suppose suggesting anyone interested in this deal is an "idiot" isn't at all inflammatory?

Aren't they releasing a new one during WWDC in a few weeks, or at the least the specs etc? Still a good price

I'm telling you buddy, I ordered it and the code worked, might be a glitch but defo worked
Dave
31 May 16 3 #10
I'd be cautious with this one..

If, before accepting your order, we find that you are not entitled to use the code or do not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reject your order or alternatively process it without the promotional benefit being applied. If, after accepting your order, we find that you were not entitled to use the code or did not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reverse the benefit that you obtained. If you transacted on a cash basis e.g. by debit or credit card, we may take a further payment, equivalent to the value of the benefit obtained, from the card used. If you transacted on a credit basis, the value of the benefit obtained may be charged to your credit account.

whilst commenting "yawn" fills the thread with productive and constructive information. It could be that somebody on here is looking for a high end computer and is checking out this deal, as with most deals on here, people often give their alternative as to similar products. This helps people who know less about the topic to gain perspectives from those who know more.
ant3000
31 May 16 3 #27
Whilst I'm sure you'd like me to "bore along" with this I'd be be guilty of filling this thread with the exact nonsense these apple threads need to avoid! I wish you a very pleasant evening Mr Gates!

Voted hot btw. Cheapest I've found this.

But as others have said, hold off a little, new range is coming out so these will probably be reduced further and possibly by a more reputable vendor.

A SurfacePro3's have lost 60% of value in a year like £300 now, yes SP4 is very nice but overpriced awaiting same depreciation hit, a Mac at a discount is better way to go...

I totally agree since there call center has been moved to South Africa you have to deal with complete idiots on the other end of the phone who couldn't organize anything, I find it more unbelievable as english is obviously widely spoken there, but they Dnt seem to get the jist of the nature of the call or problem, I am actually in a dispute with them at the moment regarding a item that is to be collected and returned, and I on the 4th phone call and they have still not collected it!! Poor poor customer service outrageous infact.
ssuk100
1 Jun 16 #37
Surely if you used a credit card and Dnt have a credit account with them and paid for it straight away and they delivered it to you at the discounted price that can't charge you later or bill you as its there error and mistake
irabbs7

1 Jun 16 #39
If they do come after anyone for the difference then it's pretty outrageous given it would be FAR easier for their web devs to just exclude all the "excluded" items on the actual system so as no discount can be applied to said products, rather than putting in man power to chase people and battle against the obvious backlash it would cause.
JonnyDixon1990

1 Jun 16 #46
You won't get a new surface pro 3 <£500. Second hand yes. They do depreciate, but you don't spend this type of money on computers unless you're going to have it for a good couple of years. All tech depreciates rapidly, including macs. As a % the mac might depreciate less, but in total £, you'd lose roughly the same amount over time.
chantelle310
1 Jun 16 #47
Me too.. Which is why I think they won't have a leg to stand on when if infact they do pick and choose people to charge.. They can't really refuse returns. I ordered the surface pro 4 and will be returning it if infact I do get a charge down the line. I only realised right now reading this that the code is supposed to be for new customers only.
Burr_ger
1 Jun 16 #48
The code WILL work when you make a purchase. Its once they have your details and then validate your account that is when you get stung.
stanno
1 Jun 16 #49
Yes - that's the way Very works. Wouldn't trust buying from them, especially with a generic code.
mephestic
1 Jun 16 #50

If you opt to pay with Paypal, won't Very be prevented from charging you again without your consent? That way they won't even have your CC info on file to charge. Couldn't you then just ignore them if they started demanding more money in the future? It's not as though they can damage your credit score...
daBluone
1 Jun 16 #55
Alot of Very deals showing up again, I thought these were being swerved by this site due to the issue people have had over the years using codes that they shouldn't etc?
ant3000
1 Jun 16 #56
Looks like Very have pulled the code! Good luck to all of you brave enough to take the plunge!
giorgoXXI
1 Jun 16 #57
Their T&Cs can say what they want, but they can't just increase the price and immediately charge you the difference without your consent. Also if the item is despatched, a contract is formed and cannot be amended. If they do, that's very shoddy and I would contest it with the bank or relevant trading organizations.
stanno
1 Jun 16 #58
That's exactly what they do. They say the code you used wasn't personally sent to you and therefore not valid and bill you the extra.
damper81
1 Jun 16 #59
No change in payment amount just yet, and if it does well then I'll deal with that, wouldn't be happy but then been delighted at saving £277, so will see where the journey takes me
striker33
1 Jun 16 #60
Its not an error or a mistake though. They clearly state the code can't be used in the offer for apple products. You're essentially willingly violating their terms for personal gain at their expense.

They have your payment details regardless of paying by card or not. If they fail to get the extra expense from those payment details, you'll be sent a notice asking you to cough up. Failure to acknowledge such a notice would lead you into all sorts of legal bother.

So people should be asking themselves if its worth the hassle down the line for little to no gain. The only benefit of using Very is down to their flexible finance.

If you want to use the code and refuse to pay down the line then go for it. But when some big burly bloke knocks on the door to take your possessions to pay for the difference don't go crying about how Very are **** or whatever, they're a business like any other. People are entitled to their own opinions of course, but Very have come a long way compared to what they were like a few years back. They're actually a very good retailer for the most part now, and sometime have good offers on price wise too.
damper81
1 Jun 16 2 #61
I agree in the sense that if they come back for the difference then I will deal with that, however if they don't then I don't see how I'm really denting them critically. I see plenty of deals on here about stacking codes and would never say that anyone who attempts it is doing anything inherently wrong. I value that everyone has their opinions tho so thanks for contributing to the post
striker33
1 Jun 16 #62
The key difference is that the code stacking deals generally don't state that it's against T&Cs or anything of the like in an obvious way.

Very codes always explicitly state what they're to be used for.

It was more a word of warning to avoid any hassle/stress down the line. A lot of people will see deals like this and go for it blindly without reading any of the comments, thinking they've got an excellent deal, and then 2 months down the line stung with an unexpected bill.
damper81
1 Jun 16 #63
i know its a completely different thing, but surely codes are only meant to be used individually and not stacked as standard? otherwise code stacking would be the norm, hence its not standard t's and c's. either way, its a side point. This is a hopeful deal for people interested and I for one wouldn't shell out over 1k without having properly thought about it first. As I say, I appreciate the comments =)
richchampness1
1 Jun 16 #64
not sure leak suggests q4
giorgoXXI
2 Jun 16 #65
They have two opportunities to validate the code, when applying it or when processing your order. If validation is successful both times and the item is dispatched (which is when a contract is normally formed in e-commerce), that should be that. Otherwise this kind of behavior potentially opens up a can of worms in distance selling.

If I go to a shop with a voucher, when I use it, the cashier carefully checks its valid, and if it is, then the purchase is processed with the discount and that's the end of it. They don't come chasing after your money if it turned out it wasn't applicable. Its just ludicrous.
damper81
2 Jun 16 1 #66
Well for what it's worth I currently have an Apple MacBook Pro in my possession and have paid a lot less than expected. I guess it remains to be seen if they will attempt to charge me but so far so bloody good
