As good as new. No scratches, scuffs or chips. And they come with a 12 month warranty.
Cheaper than CEX sell their "used" models for!

Check for the b grades if any left were £96 and went up to £120 brand new and many have 10 months Apple warranty.
Get the refresh ones and they unlock for free.

Use the link on this thread also has long the info needed. Check all the upfront prices to be sure. Once on the link change the grade from a or b on the actual address bar and it will show the different deals. Also change the 5s to 6 or 6s if you want one of those.
I was delighted with unmarked grade 5 Apple 5s which I then paid off in full after getting it unlocked. ( Total cost £120) Also had apple warranty until February 2017. Combined this with the BT deal ( now expired) getting 500 minutes, unlimited texts and 2gb of data for £1.63 a month! ( Amazon voucher and TCB)

how did grade B suddenly become brand new?
eslick
29 May 16#9
They are in effect new returned after activated within 14 days most come with the original screen protectors on. , difference between a and b grade is the amount of Apple warranty left on them, b up to 10 months a 11/12 and possibly not activated. Ok not brand new but for the price near enough.

Can someone please explain how unlocking works on this if one is on Virgin ?

Buy from O2, activate. Use phone to make sure it connects on the network. Contact them for a factory unlock (free). Phone and pay off the handset (device plan) and cancel airtime. Insert Virgin SIM in the phone and connect to iTunes.

That works for refresh deals, but this is a pay as you go offer.

I don't think £153 for a 16Gb iPhone 5S is good value at all. Likely to be crippled by the next iOs release. Now if it was £96...

help guys .....it keeps asking me to pick an airtime plan ...even on pay as you go

really! 4inch screen and refurbished and released in 2012/2013, insane to think it being a good deal, any reason(s) why it should be a good deal?

I bought the refresh one also but it a fair bit of hassle..I've only just got off the phone getting the final refund for a phone I bought on May 1st!..O2 were fine but you will need to call the and follow all steps to get it unlocked etc plus a credit check...it will take at least two weeks from start to end more like month from what others say....is it worth the 50 quid saving I would say so as the phones are totally mint..

How do you find the £96 one? Thanks
Marekj
31 May 16#27
Apple or no Apple; there isn't much to touch this at this price. A camera that still holds its own against many modern flagships, coupled with Snapdragon 800 level performance in a compact form factor is a winner.
I can confirm the refurbished 5s is sim free. I brought one a month ago from 02 and put in my Vodafone sim and it worked straight away.
no issues with swapping Vodafone sim from 02.

I've also heard this. Can you confirm it was one of the 'as new' that they are offering here?

31 May 16#32
Yes it was it was grade a refurb, was on hot deals last month, just put me Vodafone sim in and away you go.
came in brown box, but with charger lead and still had plastic film on front and back of phone.
looked brand new never used.

To save the hassle of cancelling could you buy the phone on PAYG and get it unlocked by eBay sellers. My son is on Tesco which I believe uses O2.Therefore it might not need unlocking. Will O2 still allow the warranty if another sim is used. Thanks

It isn't a good deal at £153. At £96 it's a good deal
eslick
31 May 16#35
just a watch out not all were sim free, some were unlocked by the first owner, do the check and if needed you will have to ask o2 to unlock for free.

From reading google - it appears as though you don't need to unlock an O2 p[hone to work with giffgaff

Both GiffGaff and Tesco Mobile use the O2 network and their SIMs will work in locked O2 handsets

I think the phone locks onto the first sim? Have you tested if another sim works on it?
hass123
1 Jun 16#39
iPhone 5s uses nanosim so you would have to request one on the phone to Virgin customer service. And if they try and charge you for it then force them to give it you for free.

And thats also why an upgraded version in the same compact form called the SE has also sold very well (so well initially that demand exceeded supply)

Mine got delivered today, the phone is brand new, only comes with a usb and sim pin, no charger plug. It's unlocked to all networks.

Hi guys
I'm looking to get my missus a new iphone - she has the iphone 5 and battery life isn't great anymore so cheap upgrade really
Anyway I have a couple of questions
1. Has anyone noticed much difference between Grade A/B or is it luck of the draw? (£130 right now for Grade B).
2. Do I select "Pay for Your Device in Full" to get it at that price. I had seen someone else say do the monthly one - I see £16 p/m no upfront but thats a 24 month contract so I work that out at just under £400.
BTW Missus is on Giffgaff so shouldn't need to unlock it anyway.
Cheers
