Ha ! Trying to get rid of the stock no doubt. Such a shame - JVC was once a superb quality Japanese built brand. Made some superb hi-fi in the 70s for sure.

I know it's not the brand it once was but imagine telling someone 20 years ago you could get a tv with a screen this size, with these dimensions and HD for £329?
Hot.

"Boris v Dave" does that mean the TV will be cheaper and and safer if we vote to remain?

As I said It was a joint venture, Samsung bought out Sony on 2011, however there no guarantee Sony have not switched panel supplier for differing models to hit a price point.
Sony have used LG and Sharp too, but could easily be using somewhere nameless in in China now.

I'm not so sure you're right about Sony & Samsung.with the screens.Theres currently a YouTube thing showing MAJOR differences : Differences between Sony @ Samsung

30 May 16#36
You illustrate the point well, Sony used to have a Joint Venture with Samsung to make panels, but they sold their half to Samsung. They use Samsung now, but used to be Sharp, and if Samsung get expensive now they don't have a share in the panel making they may move.
Panasonic are great for screen but some of there budget ones are made by Vestel.
The name is no guarantee any TV is made by any given company in house, its all down to costs as to who makes the TV and the quality level that the opening OEM sets.

It's a confusing manufacturing thing true enough. But the actual SCREENS are made by reputed makers, and the controlling electronics too. Thats where you pay more for the Sony LG Samsung kinds.
And no, I WOULDN'T buy a "name" make that is a rebadged Vestel.

Same as many brands, especially in the low to medium level ranges. Nothing wrong with Vestel as such, they'll make it to whatever standard the OEM who's badge is on the front wishes to pay for it.
There only a few TV makers left anymore, and at the low to mid range if its not Vestel inside it may be UMC, even "big" names such as Phillips no longer make there own TVs and licence the name. Some brands even split the ranges, lower end from one OEM, and higher end in house or another OEM.
We've a 32'' LCD JVC branded Vestrel in the kitchen, its no where near the greatest TV picture on the planet but it does what it needs to for the £13 0(I think) we paid for it.

Picked one up today and hung on wall it's replaced a Samsung and it's impressive when coupled with a fire stick and sound bar. Blacks aren't to bad and the picture is even across the display for the price it's a decent buy

Yeah but they are reconsidering their position seeing donkey Adams got six months for crashing his Cosworth in to a Harold Wood garden after necking half a crate of Kestrel Super and five bottles of Thunderbird at some old sket's BBQ on Harold Hill

people gone mad about these smart tv's, but I havent yet seen a fully functional smart tv from any manufacturer. Even top spec smart tv's are waste of money.. All of them are limited, underpowered specs, buggy firmwares etc... You better off buying a tv based on which gives best video quality and then buying add on media box which would be decent spec and with properly supported firmware!
Ready for the huud? Great deal for a joovce lucadu.

I bought this three months ago. It is fantastic. Don't listen to the people who are saying it is a JVC so don't buy it, the picture is poor blah blah blah. I use it a lot and I think it is great. It is a 55" tv for a smidgen over £300. Not that bad at all.

Not sure there's much point on a screen this big these days as no broadcaster is putting out quality HD pictures, Sky and BT HD channels are very poor now compared to when they first launched.

My in laws got a JVC a year or so ago from Currys.
They did not have Sky HD so thought It looked bad due to that.
Then a few weeks back they moved to HD and still looked bad.
This is coming from a guy who had a Wharfedale tv back in the cheap Aldi days so I'm no brand or tv snob but it truly is awful. I couldn't have kept it looking like their picture does.
