Somebody at work was having a problem getting the back off their watch, and I remembered this kit in a deal on HUKD. When I searched, it was expired, but I followed the "Get Deal" link and found that it was now even cheaper than last time (when it was £3.19). Looks okay for a few quid. Quality is probably questionable, but if it saves you the cost of a jeweller or watch repair person (~£20 in my limited experience) then you're quids in. If it snaps and you stab yourself in the hand, and scratch your expensive watch, then ... you ain't seen me, right?

I bought one of these kits, whilst the quality is dreadful at best, i was able to change a battery and remove a link, worth the £2.89 just don't expect too much

Had one of these for a couple of years. They're OK. I've changed several batteries and altered wristbands without too much difficulty.
In terms of injuries resulting from my kak handed use of the kit, I'd give it a 2 (On a scale of 1 to 5 - where 1 is a minor scratch and 5 being a major stabbing)

Using this kit I was able to remove links to change the size of the strap on my daughter's watch. When the battery went flat in the same watch I was able to get the back off and change the battery with this kit.
However, I had to use a watch back closer to get the flipping thing back on. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00SX5OTBK

Bought one a few weeks ago from eBay for £2.79, as people have said, quality isn't the best but as long as you're careful and take your time, each tool will do the job a few times and save you a few quid in the end

Bought one of these a while ago . Great for changing batteries on a couple of cheaper watches I have .certainly better than paying a jeweler or watch shop £5 or £10 a pop .
Would I feel comfortable using it on a £10k roley probs not . Would I be on HUKD if I had a £10k roley probs not

Ordered mine. Just purchased two Seiko watches and need links removed, will give them a go myself. Not sure if I would risk putting my Rado watches through this though. Handy having around the house nevertheless :sunglasses:

Bought this the other week - works well, better than I expected.
My father is a jewellery & watch specialist so I'm familiar with all the tools - quality is important but it's more about technique and practice. I can't count the number of times I've sliced a finger open over the years by using to much pressure at the wrong angle.
Use Google and watch YouTube videos before attempting anything. We always had people in every day who had bodged a simple job - battery change, spring bar, link removal, etc.
This kit is fine to use on cheaper watches.
That said, cheaper watches are badly made and some are a right pain for simple jobs.
If you've got a decent watch then buy the better quality versions individually or go to an expert.

Waste of money of you want to use it more than once, soon falls apart! You'd probably need all the tools just to replace a battery

Obviously you don't own one .Very easy to use if you have a bit of common sense and a bargain .I've lost count of number of family and friends for which this kit has removed links ,straps.battery removal.push in backs and screw off backs all for less than a pint.Kind of what this site is all about .No worries about using it on a Rolex.

Had one for a few years and has served well for changing links and battery replacement. Good bit of kit and reasonable quality

hmm. try messing with my £1000 watch with a £2 kit ...no thanks of to watch specialist for me
Slightly unrelated but watch specialists would still be specialists if they used £2 kits!

Quality is not the best, but with a bit of time you can change watch batteries yourself

Yes the quality isn't great but I've changed 4 or 5 different watch batteries, adjusted two metal straps, and replaced one leather strap all with this kit or an identical one off amazon. It's paid for itself several times over.
Edit: a couple were rotary aquaspeeds so while not super expensive, they weren't cheap watches. They are still doing fine underwater lol
