It is NOT trade card holders only at all. I have the 200 piece which i bought about 2 months ago at half price. I haven't used the lifetime guarantee but when i bought it they told me that the moving parts are covered. Just ring them yourself. I know a few years ago they didn't use to cover the ratchets etc but now they do.
Will say though with this deal on today, its so worth getting one of the socket sets if you do work on your car. Half price plus the extra 15% off. They are as good as snap-on tools and have everything you need and can take a lot of abuse too.

Zontes, I can see initially you thought you were doing people a favour. You found literature saying trade card holders can get the moving parts covered, but you have made a mistake. Now everyone gets the moving parts covered.
Phone them if you don't believe me. Why don't you just hold your hands up and admit you made an error in good faith? People respect stuff like that in life.
What they don't respect is people who have never posted a deal themselves, stubbornly sticking to their incorrect opinion once it has been debunked.
People will think you live under a bridge.

Poor old Halfords, they use plain English, but it's still not enough for some people:

If you moan in the store they will usually replace them anyway. They are fantastic tools for the money, in fact you can't beat them

Have tested out their "no receipt, just replace" guarantee on Halfords Advanced stuff myself. Took them a 17mm spanner which I'd used to try and remove stubborn ARB droplinks but hadn't worked out as planned... They replaced it no probs with a new one off the shelf. Would recommend for sure.

This is a good deal. However, I do think that the quality of Stanley Tools are not what they used to be...

the screwdrivers with the turquoise bits on them are Philips head drivers - the 6 piece set linked to has them plus a few other sets. The ones with yellow flashes are Posidrive.
I've had a set of the Halfords pro screwdrivers for years and not had a problem with any of them. Granted they don't grip quite as well or feel quite as nice as my Wera's, but they're decent quality especially for the money.

Do Halfords do screwdrivers that have a lifetime guarantee like their socket sets? I'm off to the website to find out!
Yes they do is the answer! They need to be from the advanced range of tools such as these >
you need to read the small print as I noticed on the spanner sets it doesn't cover everything, something about the mechanism on the ratchets not covered, I think its a con really as that's the part that will go first!

Just be aware that these are pozidrive screwdrivers. Might not be an issue for general DIY stuff -- that's not what I personally use my tools for. For bikes, they're utterly useless.
"QUALITY
Product quality is another important aspect of ‘value for money’. In listening to our
customers we have made changes to our products. We want customers to have
confidence that their purchases will last. During the year we have made our Quality
Guarantee on all Halfords Advanced socket sets, a no quibble one. We used to exempt
moving parts but having listened to the customer, it is really important to be able to offer a
total lifetime guarantee. We want customers to trust our quality."

I knew a few tools that worked at Halfords. They had far more than 15% off. I'd say they're more like 15% all there.

I have some Halfords bits and the quality does seem to be good (I have had no dramas). I think the lifetime warranty and the inclusion/exclusion of moving parts comes down to managers discretion as some have been told yes and others told no so probably worth checking at your local store on what they are going to do, however watching a video on a Halfords advanced toolset
around the 35-45 second part they state it does not cover moving parts, but if your local store manager tells you different (and shows you in writing) and honours that then you are laughing.
Anyway, good deal and heat added

You're quite right - the warranty applies to all purchasers. They even extend the warranty to ratchets purchased prior to them being included in the warranty.
