Now.. if that date is no good for you.. check other airports around the uk.. this works well for 5 people as it will allow you the bonus £300 off.
Found a LGW to Orlando £1522 from 18th June to 2nd July
Now.. I booked my holiday last week and I never used the code but today I contacted them and they gave me the extra bonus.. however using the code online ONLY works for flights and hotel but no extras. so your total booking for the holiday has to be over £1500
My cost of the holiday was £1300 + £200 for breakfast.. they took off the £240 so that was a bonus.. so in the end £1250 for 4 os us from LGW
You will get about £50 back via quidco too :)

I went to Florida in term time when I was in school. Now I am a Mechanical Engineer and earn 6 figures; I don't think the two weeks I missed when I was 8 had any impact on my education, or future career - it did leave me with some fun memories though and did help me settle a debate with my sister whether Micky Mouse was real or not.

People have done this for years.. why should you or the govenment tell me when I can take my kids on holiday  my 18 year old has been on many holidays and done well with her exams and this is a little reward for her. we allways go inside school time. If I want to take them out.. I will do.. and so do a lot of other parents.
Ohh and that £60 fine is only to make money.. its not to stop parents.. its a way for the gov to get extra money.

Culture = the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society.
You may not like it, or agree with it, but you can still learn from it.

So it's now open season on schools now is it? Take kids out when you want? Does Education not count any more?
We're not talking a few days here but 2 full school weeks. Over 5% absence rate in one block.
Over the year you get 1 in every 4 weeks to have a holiday, you've had kids, going on holiday during the 13 weeks you can do so is part of the deal. Suck it up and pay the extra.
Oh and culture, really. 2 weeks in the parks and eating out surrounded by other brits. If you want to play the culture card, wait until the holidays and head out to the UK and see as much culture as you can get and all for free.

Thats great the holiday didn't effect you but it is not the case for all. I am currently teaching a pupil in an extra maths class who has been on 4 different holidays in school time this year. She has fallen behind academically and has now been pulled out of a language subject to help her catch up. This has been consistent through her time in education and now lacks confidence in her ability. Who is responsible for her under achievement in education? Where do we cross the line to what is acceptable and what is not and how do we enforce this?

4 times in 1 year.. yeah I agree thats over the top.. 1 holiday is fine.

The real problem is for all the teachers who can't take advantage of these holidays during term time... if you want to feel sorry for anyone, feel sorry for the teachers!
... Kidding, obviously...
