Uh-oh, USB built into a power socket, this'll turn into a heated discussion!

For safety's sake I would rather pay £3 or £4 more to get one of the other two similar models that Screwfix offer. They both confirm to BS 1363-2.

Money saving tip of the day don't buy these. Save £7. And charge your stuff at work where your employer pays for the electric.

Not sure how charging a PS4 pad will go down...

I think they are great, what concerns me are the numptys who have no electrical knowledge buying them and installing them for giggles.

Be careful with these. They're quite noisy and have a loudish whistle when it's charging via USB. I've got a couple in my bedroom and it's annoying. Do yourself a favour and pay a pound or 2 extra for a better quality socket.

These save space, only purchase if it has a British Safety mark far more reliable than a CE (China and Europe :stuck_out_tongue: mark)
I would not use them ever-where and only if you have a new Mini-circuit breaker type fuse box. Not heard of these making sounds but if yours does, STOP using it and get an electrician pronto These save space, only purchase if it has a British Safety mark far more reliable than a CE (China and Europe :stuck_out_tongue: mark)

"Buy any 2 for £14 on these LAP Switched Socket USB’s. Discount applied when both items are added to trolley. Promotion valid until 02/05/16."
Expired, discount does not apply at checkout. :disappointed:

I bought these ones and find that the switches are in a silly position as you struggle to toggle the switch with anything plugged in

What a pointless thing. Why not just use usb power adopters. Not only safer and more efficient. But they won't be outdated every time the usb spec changes. Think about fast charging, usb-c etc. When they become more prevalent you will realise how pointless this is. Even the most expensive usb plugs are only like £15.
Do you really need usb in each power socket in your house. Like I only need to charge my stuff once a day when I go to sleep.

LAP seem to be the way to go from what I've heard with these...
Someone say that the twin pack has finished now? Shame.

I agree these sockets are not a very safe option! Pay a little extra for your own and family's sake.

Cheap - but for all reasons you shouldn't fit any of these devices just refer to numerous previous posts!
PS Yes, they are 'on' all the time; no you can't turn them off!

I agree, they're a much better socket but unfortunately the 2 for £14 seems to have finished on the 2nd.

I agree. the LAP ones comply at £9.99 each, if you scroll to the bottom of the page they are 2 for £14 at the moment.
I picked up a couple the other day then realised they looked a bit cack so will be going back. Counter person informed me this design was the only one they did in White, not true there is another on which look much neater with two separate usb outlets but costs a little more.
