This analysis agrees with ikea being the best power for your pound. I expect these would be similar.

They're cheap and value for money but you can't get wrong with these at Screwfix 8 AA batteries for 79p only which will work out just about 10p a battery
The reviews state these are Out of Date. They will have a reduced capacity.

This is OK but you can get 100 for £10.00 from Ikea. and they are pretty much the best batteries i have used.
I wont vote either way but id be more inclined to veto.

Ikea batteries are £1.50 for 10 and therefore actually £15 for a 100 they have not been £1 for 10 for a couple of years. Good batteries though.

IKEA have gone up to £1.50 a pack now so would be same price as these

I concur about the IKEA batteries. I use them in a flashgun which is very power hungry and they last longer, by a considerable margin, than any other much much more expansive brand I've ever used.
To add to that Ikea are also £7.50 for delivery! so unless you have one local and don't mind the massive walk round store just to purchase this is a better deal.

or any 99p or poundstores do 10 Panasonic AA or AAA for £1-
Trouble is with rechargeable is the voltage is 1.2V and not 1.5V so not ideal in all situations.

Great for landfill. Much better than those pesky rechargeables.

We moved home around 2 years ago and our local Ikea has been £1.50 since the move. They are however my go to alkaline battery of choice, so I was disappointed when the price went up.

I only discovered them last year, my partner makes glass blocks with lights inside so we bought a shed load of them, as they were £1.00 a pack in cardiff? maybe on offer? but we deffo paid £1.00 each

89p for 20 = £4.45 for 100 !!! at Home Bargains. At batteryshowndown.com these batteries came nearly top. Can't understand why this deal is getting so much heat!

My nearest Home Bargain store seems to be 20 miles away. So yes, if I needed batteries, the above deal is very hot! Not particularly difficult to comprehend is it?
Having had a look at the HB website, the only battery I can see online is 10 Panasonic zinc for 89p. How exactly is that a bargain?

If you looked on the site I mentioned batteryshowdown.com you will see the batteries are called Ready Cell - only in store, but then again not everyone has a Maplins local either using your argument, at at that price I wouldn't want to order online from Maplin. Perhaps it's you who finds it difficult to comprehend whether a deals good or not!

You are really odd aren't you? The point I was making is that this includes free delivery, so accessible to everyone from the comfort of their home. You therefore do not need a Maplin to be anywhere near you. So cost of this deal is much cheaper than your Ready cell which I can only pick up instore at HB.
If you can show me a deal for the Ready cell that includes postage at a price cheaper than this deal, then you have a valid point. Alternatively, stop being negative about a deal that a fellow member has posted.

Went in to Belfast Connswater today & was very disappointed (bordering shocked) to find the dates all pathetic - on the 100 AAA they were Jan 2018 (just over 18 months). Looked at various Maplin brand packs (various quantities & sizes) & they were all 2018 (not very late IIRC), except 1 that was late 2107. Perhaps others can let us know how they bought (ebay/online/instore) & what dates they got/saw?
