Definitely. Once you're aware of it then things are fine. But I was losing sanity and hair trying to work out why the pebble kept being forgotten about!

Was wondering about the sleep mode, but miui clock seems ok now, where as the google one was the problem. Miui certainly has more areas to fiddle with than standard android, pluses and minuses with that!

Worth being aware that xiaomi handsets have an aggressive battery management system that terminates background apps. If any apps are failing then change their individual battery profile. Took me a while to make my RN2 play nice with my pebble for that reason.

Not played with alarms but I know from the outset it went into a sleep mode overnight so that could be the issue there too.

I've had mine for a few days now & really impressed. Arrived with the global rom already installed just needed updating ota. Battery life is brilliant. I use the dual sim for work sim (3) & personal sim (ee). Have to use the work sim for internet otherwise the sim won't work at all but think that's to do with 3. Not a problem for me though.

I'm wondering if this has something to do with the alarm not going off, it powers down to a low state.

No i set the profile to no restrictions and it does the same. It might be my sim as it happened with my old nexus 4 phone too. I got new update and appplied that and now mobile data does not work at all. strange.

has anyone tried this phone on Vodafone? I know it doesn't support the 800MHz but does support the 2600MHz that Vodafone also has for 4G. don't want to buy it and it doesn't pickup 4G.

you sure its not a power profile being applied? Mine is fine, but sometimes the profile turns off mobile data e.g at night time.

I been having problem with my mobile internet after a long period on WiFi, then leave the house, I can't seem to get mobile data unless reboot phone or switch airplane mode on and off. It was happening on my old nexus 4, thought it was phone but happens on this new one too. Anyone else get this and found solution?

Just wanted to say I ordered mine and it took 10 days via standard delivery! I was surprised how quick it arrived. No customs charge either and topcashback tracked too! Bargain for under £150! Dreami even supplied free gel case and screen protector with spare nano sim converter and sim slot pin!
For your information the phone I received was from Singapore and came with official China ROM with play store installed, meaning i would recommend flashing it with official Global ROM instead for OTA updates and playstore.
I spent many hours getting no where flashing the damn thing but to save you time just install the mi PC suite on your laptop and you will have all the right drivers. Then I used the mi flash tool, downloaded the fastboot Global ROM, put the phone in download mode and flashed it that way!

Well DHL delivery is an extra £14.90 and they reckon no custom charge by DHL. So if paying extra for no customs or paying nothing but run the risk, makes no difference for you. Then your a winner either way.

​This doesn't even make sense. I'm not scanning the AliExpress app I'm scanning all the apps delivered on a phone that has been opened in China and had various software deleted and reinstalled. Some peeps have reported malware being present from some vendors. If it was sealed wouldn't be a point.

Just FYI the no customs link has been scanned for malware with malware bytes, lookout security and even xiaomi virus scanner and AVG. No problems found.

Have a read on xiaomi.eu forums. I would have thought you should be able to download the ROM onto an SD card on your computer and put that in your phone and boot into recovery and flash the ROM. But the forums have a lot of knowledge and should be able to guide you.

One aspect I'm not sure about is the impact of the RN3 having a locked bootloader, but if you're putting an official ROM on that might affect things.

Reminds me, the weekly ROM for RN2 should be out so will do some reading up to see what the initial impressions are and then get it installed unless it's a total horlicks :innocent:

The aliexpress no eu customs link (there is only one seller) sent me mine opened but with no bloatware on it, and saved me the hassle of installing google playstore, it still updated over the air to the latest version so is still the official rom. No problems with two phones now. If you worried make sure all emails and bank accounts have phone verification which most do these days.

dont forget china currently 7 hours in front of us so 2.00 am here would be 9.00 am there

I bought both the redmi 3 and the note 3, from my experience the redmi 3 is amazing value for money, the note 3 is good value for money.

First thing this morning. I tried all day yesterday with no luck, bit hit and miss. I would try early am but at night a few were saying no luck up to 3am.

I mentioned this earlier, my pc somehow already had it installed and the phone showed up as qualcom, but you have to install the qualcom driver usually, are you following this thread step by step?

Tried all that but it has a locked boot loader so can't use MiFlash and for some reason I can't use the method for locked boot loader as it won't show up with the Qualcomm drivers :disappointed:

Updated both my phones from that seller, no issue. The update does take a long time, maybe you interrupted it? There is a thread on miui7 forums how to restore bricked phones, looks possible. You can use MiFlash to flash the latest global rom.

I bought mine from this seller a little over 2 weeks ago, phone arrived fine and worked great...for 2 hours, I installed the pending update and upon rebooting the phone has soft bricked into a boot loop and I have tried for 3 days to fix it but everything I have tried won't work and have even tried contacting the seller but there after sales is terrible, about to open a dispute on Aliexpress as a phone shouldn't brick in 2 hours....

i have to agree with pandpand i am not a heavy user about 1hr a day internet 4-5 phone calls and about half hour gaming and i get at least 5 days out of a charge someone on another post said they get 10-11 hrs screen on time

It can do about 6-7 screen on hours with 70% brightness. With my use (Radio on all day at work , internet based) and some email reading it lasts all day and finished with 45 to 50% charge. Absolutely bonkers.

The one which guarantees no DHL doesn't apppear to have spyware (but you never know lol). It came with global rom 7.1.70 which has received an OTA update to 7.2.30 which is latest global rom. Also had google play and all crap uninstalled. I had to uninstall a few extra apps but overall very good.

So good I bought mine grey one, and then got the mrs one o upgrade her phone. Seriously good and after installing nova launcher I can use normal android look or mui7. Some people go so far to install a custom rom but I like MiUI7, quick links to clear cache, fm radio, barcode scanner, virus scanner and other cool features.

I will prob never buy a samsung again.

Great deal OP. Usual caveats apply to purchasing though.
ROM reflashing will probably be required because of spyware/ unofficial ROM. Limited 4G support - No 800mhz - which means no 4G on o2/ GiffGaff, partial support on Three. And possible import duites.
Still a great phone for the money though.

i get ota updates every friday im on the original xiaomi chinese rom bought phone factory sealed 8 weeks ago had 7 ota updates so far all stable updates not developer beta i installed google services myself plenty of tutorials online by the way fantastic phone

Do recommend you install the stable global rom (which comes with Play) when you get this because, as noted, sellers tend to put their own custom ROMS on which may contain nuts - they also take you out of the cycle of regular OTA MIUI updates (usually every 2 months or so).

Or if you're more daring go for the developer global rom, with much more frequent updates but some elements may not always work properly.

Bit of a faff if the bootloader is locked, but plenty of guidance on the Xiaomi forums to assist.

a got this from a superb seller on aliexpress, no import tax guaranteed by the seller,got free gifts with it and the seller even installed Google play for me and got rid of all the bloatware and Chinese apps and installed an EU rom so didn't need to install Google keyboard either.

i have had this phone for 8 weeks now bought mine factory sealed so came with original xiaomi chinese rom i put google services on myself i have not had any ad pop ups or anything like that only get notifications for chinese app updates available and i dont find any conflict between google play and miapp store i have had and installed 7 ota miui updates in that time and google services has updated 2 times its when the third party sellers put their custom roms on you get problems
