Quick update. Having used it for BT streaming in the car for a few days the phone heats up a little. I expect the same thing to happen if using GPS.

Just using the stock ROM but removed a lot of the pre installed apps. I'm trying to use the system apps where possible though to save space.
Still very happy with it. Going to bed most nights with 30+ battery % left and im a fairly heavy user. This is by far the best battery on any phone I've had and one of my recent phones was a Sony z3 compact.
You do need a case as the phone is quite slidy but otherwise no complaints.
I doubt you'd get anything better for the price other than a 5.5" screen which is too big for my liking.

OK, phones in and happy with everything. Im getting an easy 6 hours screen on time before going to bed with 20-30% battery left and thats with 65% brightness. You could probably see 8 hours SOT quite easily.
Camera is fine for me and overall no complaints. I think low light photos are fine too.
Phone seems a tad heavy at first but that's understandable given the battery size.
Any questions let me know.

Redmi 3 is a good phone. I own one (16GB) as my second phone for calling abroad and got it from India flash sale for about £100. It's wickedly fast. Got fingerprint scanner which works like a charm. Camera is fantastic. I compared it with iPhone 6, Samsung S4 and Redmi really does perform. i6 won but second was Redmi. I know S4 is bit out of league here but S4 had a good camera. For the above price tag for a 32GB I would definitely go for it. Damn what you can get for your money these days! :smiley:

Wrong the Redmi 3 Note comes with an MTK or Qualcomm 650 in the pro version. The Redmi 3 whixh this deal is for only comes with Qualcomm 616 in all variants. It's fairly straight forward, just for some reason people seem blind to the word Note and mix them up.

It looks like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with either the Snapdragon 616 or 650 CPU. From there, there's the Standard, Pro, Prime, and Pro-Prime models :confused:
According to https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/comparison the 650 looks significantly better, that may be why this phone is significantly cheaper than this from the same seller.

I flashed mine with the weekly development ROM and it has been very good, I get OTA updates, all with google apps etc. I used the phones update app to do it, so no bootloader unlocking etc etc...
I only have 1 issue with this phone, the bluetooth looses connection intermittently. Whether its with the car or my Pebble, I have to turn the BT off/ on to get it to re-connect.
Anyone else have this issue and possibly have a solution?

This device does work on three 4G no problem! I get huge speeds in my partners town but average in my location which is rural and no 4G. I've been using the Redmi Note since the 4G version. I'd urge anyone pay more and go for the Redmi Note 3 Pro Prime Snapdragon version as its a quality phone for the price imo, dual sim so can use 2 sims or and a memory card. I've always used three before for my network but over Xmas used EE with the 100GB of data offer, found it much better for coverage rural areas for very high speed, ended up taking that offer whats hot on here for the EE 12 month sim only deal, works great on EE. Don't bother with o2 or giff gaff with these devices won't get 4g
Also this seller I've used twice before for phones apart from new redmi not 3 I got elswhere. No issues and paid for DHL both times and got 4-5 days from ordering, very well sealed and air protected both times.
One thing to request when buying is them to flash global stable MIUI rom, you get ota updates. Chinese rom has plenty of bloat apps, no google playstore as default but easy to set up. Only recently has a global rom come to redmi note 3 (snapdragon version only) I had to flash mine but easy enough. Just looked and china rom only for the redmi 3. You still can change to english but I felt a pain setting up (download google apps from miui store then it installs all google stuff required)

My Redmi Note 2 is great on battery life, until I turn on Wifi.
I'll get about 3 days out of it with about 4 hours of calls a day, but if I turn wifi on then I lose 1-2% every minute. That's on the latest MiUi Global ROM.
It also fails at picking up calls or texts sometimes, and is now developing dead pixels after just a month.
Good phones, nice hardware for the money, but lacking in quality.

It is a nice little phone - a definite improvement over the previous iteration.
All the new Xiaomi phones have locked bootloaders, which can be a bit of a git if you want to flash a custom firmware (containing the Play store and with all the Chinese apps removed).
It seems that this seller ships with their own 'Shop ROM', which is a custom ROM suited for the western market. Sadly this will never see any updates, so you are best off flashing the xiaomi.eu ROM if you have the necessary skills.
I have written up some information on applying for a bootloader unlock and the process by which you can flash a Rom on my Blog - this was for the Note 3 pro. The difference here is that there are no Global ROMs available for the Redmi 3, so you will need to flash the xiaomi.eu ROM once you have unlocked the bootloader:
Battery looks good, rest of the specs for the price, meh.

Currently have the mi4i which I love but can be a tad slow sometimes and battery doesn't always last the day.

I had the 16GB version for about a month, it was a great phone until the screen got damaged in my pocket kneeling down, not overly hard wearing as I've gone through alot of China phones and never had that happen! Another thing I didn't like is you need a little tool to open the sim card slot, you can't get the sim card or sd card without one.

I was given a 7 or 8 digit number for tracking which isn't working. Did your tracking work to begin with or would I need to wait until DHL take over the parcel outside of China or something?

Wrong the Redmi 3 Note comes with an MTK or Qualcomm 650 in the pro version. The Redmi 3 whixh this deal is for only comes with Qualcomm 616 in all variants. It's fairly straight forward, just for some reason people seem blind to the word Note and mix them up.
Just to throw a (high-spec) spanner in the works, is anyone consider/has anyone ordered a Mi5 / Mi5 Pro ??
It looks great, but I've never gone for a Chinese phone before, so wonder whether I should start with something a little less risky like one of these Redmi models...
According to https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/comparison the 650 looks significantly better, that may be why this phone is significantly cheaper than this from the same seller.

Yes you cannot use it on 02, but with the naff signal for 4g from their masts
it is not really that much of an issue!

Not too savvy with this stuff.
I only have 1 issue with this phone, the bluetooth looses connection intermittently. Whether its with the car or my Pebble, I have to turn the BT off/ on to get it to re-connect.
Anyone else have this issue and possibly have a solution?
Also this seller I've used twice before for phones apart from new redmi not 3 I got elswhere. No issues and paid for DHL both times and got 4-5 days from ordering, very well sealed and air protected both times.
One thing to request when buying is them to flash global stable MIUI rom, you get ota updates. Chinese rom has plenty of bloat apps, no google playstore as default but easy to set up. Only recently has a global rom come to redmi note 3 (snapdragon version only) I had to flash mine but easy enough. Just looked and china rom only for the redmi 3. You still can change to english but I felt a pain setting up (download google apps from miui store then it installs all google stuff required)
Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro Prime from a very good seller and with the choice of DHL to avoid custom duty!
I'll get about 3 days out of it with about 4 hours of calls a day, but if I turn wifi on then I lose 1-2% every minute. That's on the latest MiUi Global ROM.
It also fails at picking up calls or texts sometimes, and is now developing dead pixels after just a month.
Good phones, nice hardware for the money, but lacking in quality.
Even if I leave it sat on a table with data still switched on, it'll eat battery.
All the new Xiaomi phones have locked bootloaders, which can be a bit of a git if you want to flash a custom firmware (containing the Play store and with all the Chinese apps removed).
It seems that this seller ships with their own 'Shop ROM', which is a custom ROM suited for the western market. Sadly this will never see any updates, so you are best off flashing the xiaomi.eu ROM if you have the necessary skills.
I have written up some information on applying for a bootloader unlock and the process by which you can flash a Rom on my Blog - this was for the Note 3 pro. The difference here is that there are no Global ROMs available for the Redmi 3, so you will need to flash the xiaomi.eu ROM once you have unlocked the bootloader:

Currently have the mi4i which I love but can be a tad slow sometimes and battery doesn't always last the day.
Donthe extra battery and 3gb if ram could make this a perfect 'upgrade'
