Xiaomi Piston 3 earphones down to £9.24, saw that previous deal at £9.33 went quite hot. I have them myself since January and they are brilliant. Arrived within a week from China and recently I got payout from Quidco as well for £1 bringing them to about £7.50 because I paid around £8.50 at the time.

Yes, grab a pair of Piston 3 "Youth Editions" - they come with a flat cable, have virtually identical sound to the Piston 3's and are actually about half the price when on sale.
The only real difference is that the earbuds are made of plastic but the sound quality is excellent for the price.

Good headphones, have a few pairs. Standard price though and they often drop cheaper, think I paid about £8 a few months ago from bangood
Second attempt at buying these. My previous one from a different supplier turned out to be fake even though it had original in the title.
Looking at the net, these gearbest seem to be the only place to get a genuine version.

Good price, but hardly flash sale, as I paid $12.87 (I know, a whole $0.18 more) when I bought them a month ago.
Apart from that, they a a lovely set of earphones, and the box they come in gives it a real premium feel.

bought one of these awhile back and TBH not sure what all the hype is about. Sound is OK but nothing to write home about and they wouldn't stay in my ears with the tips that came with it. It was better with the Sony tips I had but I now just use these at home only for that reason.

9 Apr 161#32
I found the sound suddenly opened up after a few hours and then i understood what all the fuss was about, bit nothing straight out of the box.
These have plenty of bass but if you really want your ears to pound the hybrids are better, if you want to hear everything else, or don't like feeling like you've been abused after prolonged listening, go for these.
The choice of ends is great, I found I needed a medium in one ear and large in the other for a comfortable but secure fit that doesn't feel like you have something rammed in your ear. They do let a bit of ambient noise in compared to some but personally prefer to have an idea of what's going on around me.

Piston 2's are the more durable out of all of them. Hybrid's lasted a couple of months before sound died in one earphone, piston 3's about the same, Piston 2's 8-12 months. Bear in mind though I wear headphones around 16hrs/day due to tinnitus, so they get a really hard time from me and at this price they're a bargain. Voted Hot!

You can get these for around £2 on ebay from china. I usually order them from there and they are amazing value for the money, the come packaged like a premium pair or earbuds
That's no longer reliable unfortunately. I have two fake powerbanks that pass their authenticity test.
Safest way to be sure of genuine ones is to buy direct from Xiaomi or buy a just-launched product (takes the fakers a month or two to clone).

When I ordered back in January they arrived within a week  A lot of people have mentioned a week as well. Although it might take up to 28 days, it's a gamble. If it doesn't arrive within 28 days Gearbest are very generous and sends a free replacement (Don't know what issues people are having with Gearbest saying to avoid them, as I personally never had bad experience).
VimesUK
10 Apr 161#94
Mine never arrived and Gearbest were very laxed when it came with dealing with the request for a refund, in the end they wanted me to have either a partial refund or to try again to send another pair (IIRC). The tracking ionformation that they sent me couldn't be used as it tracked nothing.
Thankfully I paid by Paypal and they took up the case for me and they too realised that the tracking information did not work. They settled in my favour, even though Gearbest sent me several mails and messages to cancel the Paypal dispute. PP advised me not to cancel the dispute, can't open it again and Gearbest never responded to PP's contact.
Gearbest disputed my review over at Trusted Pilot, then I provided TP with all the information and so they reinstated my review.
I would not deal with GB again but I have not had a problem with Alieexpress and spent over £1000 with them over several transactions..
plebbygiraffe to VimesUK
10 Apr 16#95
Asking you to cancel disputes and disputing reviews are obviously shady practices, but there's no reason why they shouldn't offer sending you another pair before refunding you.
You ordered a product, it didn't turn up, a bummer but things go missing from time to time - they send another, it arrives, problem solved.
Not sure why you wouldn't go for the re-send.
VimesUK
10 Apr 16#96
I would have had no problem at all for them to send me a replacement set but that was only offered, as well as a partial refund option IIRC, after the PP dispute was opened and if I close the dispute and when they decide that it could be considered missing in the post.
They only provided a tracking number when PP got involved but China Post informed me that the tracking number was not valid to use on their system.

do the buttons on the remote work in iOS?
iEimis
10 Apr 161#101
Pause/Play button works, as for the volume control buttons they seem to not work, though this is not an issue for me, and also the remote is in rather uncomfortable place itself anyway, it's about 3 inches away from your ear, so in that case you would have to lift your hand and fold it, for someone who has long hands it makes it very uncomfortable for me. I control volume using my smartwatch
(3 inches from ear, not 1, but still very close to neck, or as in my case nearer my cheek).
DB2k
10 Apr 16#102
I have these - worth noting the volume controls don't work on iPhone. Sound is decent - really like the cord - hard to tangle. Not a fan of the rubber design of the ear pieces as they really get wedged in which I should have realised when I bought them and I'd rather not have them in so tight but I guess some will prefer that. The packing is really nice and premium feeling too.
plebbygiraffe
10 Apr 16#103
Well that better explains it, your original post made out as if they offered you a partial refund or re-send of the item and then you disputed via PayPal.
Not sure why they'd off partial refund.
But yeah - this is why I only use these sites if they take PayPal or AliExpress which has a good buyer protection programme.
plebbygiraffe
10 Apr 16#104
Yeah, not the biggest fan of the placement, but they've put it there so it is nearer your gob for the microphone rather than having to hold it up by your mouth when speaking.
I guess it is then down to your typical usage of these. Will you be making calls the most or will you be changing track and volume.
iEimis
10 Apr 16#105
Yes True, personally I always use my watch or just take out the phone out of the pocket and I suppose it makes it easier because on the trackpad you can only guess what song is next where as if you take the phone out you can quickly see which song you want to play.

You've obviously not owned a pair Xiaomi Piston II's then, build quality is absolutely spot on, much better than some major brand headphones costing upto £40-50. and the sound quality matches them too, the only issue I have with Piston II's is that don't work at all with a Nexus 6P, Piston III & Hybrids do but I'm not such a fan of them even though I do use them.

I most certainly have tried the 2 and 3 but not the hybrid as peopl said it was worse than the earlier models. I wouldn't say I'm that heavily into headphones and probably have only owned maybe 100 to 200 sets/pairs but I do often try out the cheap flavour of the month in the hopes it will live up to the hype and it certainly saves paying in the high hundreds or thousands for the latest, greatest head/earphones.

Seriously the best cheapo headphones I have found in terms of sound quality (not build) are the £8.99 Skullcandy Jib which offer phenomenal sound quality for the price. Seriously I only bought them in WHSmiths at the station because I was wanting to watch a film and expected them to be crap but they are very good, try them. I've got lots of headphones from very high end, to those cheapo Skullcandy. Back to these Pistons. As said, decent. Excellent build. I also got the newer Hybrids. Don't bother not a patch on these. Quieter overall, mids nowhere near as good. Just stick to these you cannot go wrong for under a tenner.

Mine arrived today, fake by the looks of it. Surprisingly good fake, they're made of metal, packaging print, rubber holder and all that are fine, cable looks like the genuine one and they even sound decent. One detail however doesn't match up.

I might actually be wrong on this one, some people say that they have my type of remote on genuine earphones, apparently Xiaomi changed supplier.
It doesn't bother me anyway, sound quality is decent and I bought them to keep in my bag as emergency headphones when I forget my AKGs.

That could be true as the controller on the 'fake' set is the same as on the Xiaomi hybrids

I was wondering whether they were fake... mine arrived this morning. I plugged them in and they were pretty shocking! So tinny that after 10 mins of trying different types of music, my ears were actually ringing.
Not impressed, won't be ordering from these cowboys again. More landfill waste.

I may have to retract my comment. I've been listening to music through them for several hours a day, swapping between the fantastic Sony earphones that I got with the Z3+. the difference is like night and day. As a last-ditch effort, I've just played with the audio settings on the phone... I turned off 'DSEE HX' and the sound has changes, completely! I don't know what theat setting is, or does, but these buds don't like it! I now have bass and mids coming through in abundance, instead of ear-piercing trebles.

Mine not yet arrived. Even when/if they do I then am not sure they will be genuine? This gearbest malarkey is fast losing its shine. I might just stick to boring old Amazon for this sort of thing in future :disappointed:

Piston 3's are good, if you can spare the small extra, get the hybrids though.
The only real difference is that the earbuds are made of plastic but the sound quality is excellent for the price.
The hybrids are better for bass
Looking at the net, these gearbest seem to be the only place to get a genuine version.
Thanks OP!
Apart from that, they a a lovely set of earphones, and the box they come in gives it a real premium feel.

Safest way to be sure of genuine ones is to buy direct from Xiaomi or buy a just-launched product (takes the fakers a month or two to clone).
In built mic for hands free calling which is very handy. Or not.
to assume everything they sell is fake is just ridiculous.

You ordered a product, it didn't turn up, a bummer but things go missing from time to time - they send another, it arrives, problem solved.
Not sure why you wouldn't go for the re-send.
They only provided a tracking number when PP got involved but China Post informed me that the tracking number was not valid to use on their system.
I voted HOT
Never knew how good these earphones were but after reading alot of comments I decided to buy (Amazon)
and thank you for HUKD community
(3 inches from ear, not 1, but still very close to neck, or as in my case nearer my cheek).
Not sure why they'd off partial refund.
But yeah - this is why I only use these sites if they take PayPal or AliExpress which has a good buyer protection programme.
I guess it is then down to your typical usage of these. Will you be making calls the most or will you be changing track and volume.
I dont understant Hukd members. This was posted for £8.55 a while a ago, much cheaper but it got cold votes. But this one being £9.24, gets 700 plus heat? Hukd members are certainly wierd and i feel respectfully, members dont understand a deal.
I made it up and the petrol station location was some sh*ithole miles from 99.999999% of the population.

This is Gearbest store Rep. Alice
Could you please PM me the details about the bad experience you mentioned ? I am going to look into this for you again.
Best regards
under 11 dollar
Last pair just got nicked when I left them on my desk at work ... grrr.
thanks
You could get a pair of Sony mh1 if you don't mind a flat cable and a lacking treble.
I assume this means it's no good for a OnePlus2 (Android)?
I got a faulty item and they need me to have a $10 refund for $50 Product. Crazy!!!
Gearbest Reply:
(1)We are able to refund $10 to your GB wallet.
(2)We can resend a new item for you. And you need to pay extra $30 for the resend.
these just under Soundmagic e10's as a guide for sound quality
Have to say the build quality is excellent on these also love Xiami packaging.
Sound quality is very good there nearly on par with my Bose over hear headphones and they were £129!
They are base heavy but I like my base. Clear sound and would be good while watching a movie on your phone or tablet.
These will be perfect for the gym iv'e been using £3 Morrisons headphones since as they break and I replace them monthly
