I'm by no means an audiophile, I have both Hybrid and piston 3. I'd say if you like a stronger bass and beat the hybrid is stronger in that regard. but for "accuracy" the piston 3 is more realistic. difference is noticeable but not a problem for ordinary use.

That happened to me when I bought some Hybrids earlier, but for ~£15 delivered from within the EU I'm not too bothered.

I have been in touch with CS at Gearbest about the Hybrid earphones I bought.

They are sending me a new set or earphones.

ordered my hybrids on 18th may
received them today so great delivery times.
Problem is they are FAULTY!!!
they are VERY quiet, the right ear did not work,
after a short while the right did start to work both now very quiet
by holding the centre button in they do get louder but on releasing the button they go very quite again
spoke to CS chat need to open a ticket and now must wait for a reply normally within 24 hours excluding W/E
Don't like the prospect of sending them back to China,(may cost more in postage than I paid for the headphones)
So will have to wait and see.
Perhaps have to put it down to a bad experience??
The CS via the chat did seem efficient though.

Precisely two weeks three days after ordering my Piston 3's turned up. I'm assuming these are Piston 3's because the packaging and instructions are entirely in Chinese. Straight out of the box they sound really good, as good if not better than earphones that i have spent £30+ on. The posh looking storage box and external build quality is well above what i was expecting. Time will tell about the durability but for less that nine quid, so far these are amazing value. Thanks OP.

Oh last thing was while googling for burn in files I found the manufactures do seem to have their own burn in app. Needed to make an account & blah to access it so didn't bother. So may be something to it all.

Was gunna do the same then the 'what if' struck - what if it's true and I spend 300 hrs listening to sub par tunes. That's a lot of listening time for me. Like months! So what the heck, I ain't using them so may as well let the pink noise work while I'm doing other things.

Hmm yeah, think ill just burn-in using some natural music albums that i listen to anyway. Dont think all that is needed :laughing:

I have to say these exceeded my expectations, I have AKG, Grado and Sennheiser headphones and these are at least a equal match for my AKG's and Sennheiser's for less than half the cost

Was reading about this stuff (clueless) and got this page with apparently the best files to use esp the pink noise and log sine wav files just in case you are interested. I'm trying it anyway.

Well there is a link on this thread somewhere for this page which says they need a long burn in time (states they give 300 hrs dunno how they came to that tho)

My hybrids came today, so could campare to the piston 3
Instantly the sound was not as crisp and balanced as the piston 3. The piston 3 sound great, these not so much.
And after hearing the hybrids, have more bass, I dont think so, if anything theres less bass and its not as clean
Also the piston 3 I find much more comfortable to wear, and for me the default buds that come on them were the best
Those who say piston 3 lack bass, try different bud sizes whatever suits you, they make a big difference.

Overall dissapointed with the hybrids, dont see the hype and are more expensive.:neutral_face:
In my opinion piston 3 are far superior in every aspect.

I think they are pretty decent earphones but i'm not a fan of the supplied ear tips.

I'd say that they are a very decent pair of headphones but wouldn't gush about them like some people do. I initially bought the Piston 3 Youth Editions which impressed me greatly due to only costing less than US$6. I'm not sure I notice any difference in sound quality between the YE and these. Was listening to Datsik the other day and I also didn't find much difference compared to a $7 set of Skullcandy ear buds. The Pistons are still very good for the money but I don't think they sound nearly as good as a foldable pair of Senheiser headphones I use with my tablet.

Ordered one pair of each from Banggood. Piston3 and Hybrids. The 300 hour burn-in is a bit much tho! :confused:

Didn't have much luck with GearMeh the first time around and had to ask Paypal to step in. Bought a pair of Hybrid, let's see if they do deliver this time.

Just got my Piston 3s the other day and giving them a run now.. Initial thoughts is the mid and treble is outstanding I can hear the instruments and vocals very clearly but they lack a bit of bass when comparing to the samsung galaxy note 2 earphones I've been using for the last 3 years!

Might order the Hybrids and see how they are it's worth it for a tenner :smiley:

This thread reminded me I'd not tested mine yet! Got the hybrids a few months back and forgot about them, just had a play and they seem pretty good for the money. Also got my OHs son the piston 3 which he is impressed by.

Unbelievably good headphones for the price.

Same here - maybe after a while the pain will go - but after wearing them for a couple of hours I had sore ears too.

The sound is decent though not noticeably better than my sennheiser cx 300 which are extremely comfortable.

I was torn between these and the hybrids and opted for the latter. I obviously can't give my opinion on the Pistons but FWIW the hybrids are a fantastic set of earphones for the price point, I listen to a range of music to audio books and the sound quality is top notch.

The build quality is also very good, they feel very premium. I also own some xaomi power banks and these are also excellent products. Overall this is a good Chinese brand so I would have no hesitation buying these Pistons if I was a potential buyer.

Hybrids have better bass and build.

Even the famed soundmagic e10. Many claim these are better in some regards

Are these likely to be any better than my LG QuadBeat3 (AKG)? Tempted to see what the fuss is about these Pistons or the Hybrids...

Having used Shure, Denon, SkullCandy, Sennheisser (all around the £20-80 range), these Piston 3's are the best I've ever used. Well worth a go for £9.

Hybrid with armature drivers are fantastic.

These sound good, but the weird angled design hurts my ears. They feel like there is too much earphone for the space available.
