Really? I'm hearing it is not too good with below par shooting mechanics backed up by FMV that would be cancelled if it was a real TV show. Definitely on my give it a miss list.

You heard wrong so you lose out if you stick to your list.
Game is good, story is also good and easy to follow and the TV series tie ins work quite well.
If you like previous Remedy entries then you should play this.

great game completed it on hard would give 8/10 only downsides are not a long game and even on hard apart from the last part of the game most of it is too easy.

I actually really like this game. Main characters are really likeable and the story is cool. Lacks of guns tho and quite short. I've Probs put 10 hours in and at 90%. 8.5/10 in my review!

But the framerate maxes out at 50! Bizarre to say the least. Hope it gets fixed soon. Watch Digital foundry's look at the PC port and you'll see its flaws.

i ran it fine on my 970 at 1080p... set it to ultra and played. there was maybe 3/4 times where frame rates dropped in the whole game but hardly noticeable overall

surprising, as the people at PC Gamer said it struggled to hit 60fps and was really stuttery on the 970

It's a good game which will no doubt drop in price quite rapidly. Oddly enough I've stopped playing it after 3 hours to replay Alan Wake again and now I'm hooked again! Very similar graphics. Alan Wake always had great graphics.

Lots of people are slagging this game off saying it is boring and the TV show is a waste of time but I played this on Win10 over the last few days and loved it.
It took me 20h 56m according to the xbox app to complete it on normal and get 100%. I know a lot of people are saying you can do it in 10 hours and maybe you can but I never rush these types of games and reading/listening to all of the in game stuff and watching the TV show really brought the universe to life.
I ran the game fine at 1080p on an R9 290 (maybe not at a constant 60 but those things really don't bother me) the gun play was smooth and the time powers were really cool. As for the TV show being a cheap Sci-Fi knock off, I just didn't see it, the acting was fine, the production was great and I would certainly watch this if it was a "proper" TV show and it really filled in the gaps from the perspective of the antagonist.
Overall I couldn't recommend this game any higher, really loved it and looking forward to playing again on hard. It's a pity we are unlikely to get a sequel as the internet has decided this is this months game to rip apart, guess we can look forward to another generic on-line shooter instead.

Preordered from Xbox live, changed my mind and cancelled the order. M$ refunded me but never took the game off my account. Even sent the Alan wake codes too

what is wrong with some people, we were fine with less then 30 frames on 360 and now if a game doesn't have 60 everyone acts like the world's going to end

That sad thing is,
Being a PC gamer, this was only bought out on the windows store.....
I don't think cd keys releases keys for the win store either so that sucks and it'll most likely stay a high price for the remainder of its life!

cd keys pulled the alan wake codes from their quantum break stock to sell on their own.

24 Apr 16#35
Well clearly my PC is obviously better than theirs as it runs fine on my setup, Admittedly its on medium detail as it was to jerky on Ultra, but to be honest the pc version looks a billion times better than the Xbox One version

24 Apr 16#36
It ran super smooth in 1080p on Ultra for me thats why I tried 1440p, can only play it on medium settings at that res but I don't have any problems with it, when running it at 1440p turn off all AA you don't need it at such a high resolution.

That's strange then. I pre-ordered this from CD Keys and I got my Alan Wake code in my message box this week, and also one for windows 10 about 5 days after. It seems like Microsoft sent me the code, not CD Keys.
dave859
24 Apr 16#38
Maybe you got the alan wake code as it was a pre-order, not sure why you got a windows 10 code as that was only ment to be given to people who got it off the xbox store.
AndyEssex
24 Apr 16#39
Yeah it was a bit strange. I got the Alan Wake code about 2 weeks after the game came. I pre-ordered the game in February from CD Keys and downloaded it on the 4th April. I'm glad I took a Smartglass screenshot of the Alan Wake code because it disappeared from my Xbox One message inbox for no apparent reason. Then only a few days ago I got the windows 10 one.

Well I've gone for this deal now, would be nice if i do get a windows 10 code.

I loved this game. It wasn't prefect. The story was better than Until Dawn and Order 1886 but the gameplay wasn't. The tv episodes were a bit hit and miss. But as far as time travel stories go, I thought Remedy demonstrated a very unique and scientific approach to the subject.
One thing that really irked me was the load times but not as much as Angry Joe's total BS review of this game.

I understand that games are so subjective these days. I bought Quantum Break on the release date from CD Keys and I've probably played Alan Wake for 4 hours and Quantum Break for 3! That's not to say I think it's a bad game at all, it's just one of those games that I don't always feel in the mood to play.
I bought Until Dawn 2 weeks ago and I have to disagree. I've already played through it twice and are blown away with the graphics and the story (probably the best horror film I've seen in a long time!).
So I would say that Until Dawn is much better than Quantum Break but that is only my opinion and you are fully entitled to yours.
