Yes, I am aware there are console owners that do not own a PC, but that is not my point...exclusives DO help sell consoles including the underrated Wii U which saw a massive sales hike when Mario Kart 8 was launched. There are many PC gamers that buy consoles due to exclusives. No, the main problem for Microsoft right now is LOSING developers and exclusives. After owning the two previous generations of Xbox I refuse to be bitten a third time.
I am far from saying that the PS4 has a great line up right now, there again neither has the Xbox One. As a gamer and not a fanboy I can see faults in all consoles.....I do however have far more faith in software development going forward in the PS4 as with the PS3 which also was underwhelming with titles for the first couple of years.
The reverse happens with the Xbox...always a promising start then the titles dry up, there was very little of exclusive interest in the 360 after Alan Wake was released which in itself was underwhelming, not surprisingly the same developer has just released another underwhelming game in 'Quantum Break'.
Bungie handed over the Halo franchise, Microsoft axe Lionsoft studios, created an abortion out of Rare and now that the flagship racing titles in Forza are going to the PC, many a avid racing gamer would prefer a decent PC rig with multi screens that the Xbox One cannot deliver.
I somehow feel the future is not bright for the Xbox One, and hence for the first time since the beginning of the millennium it is the only console I have not bought...if things do change and Microsoft get some exclusives and some decent games out of what remaining studios they have working for them left I may change my mind...until then I will happily keep playing on the few titles I have on my PS4 and the wealth of exclusives on the Wii U, whilst awaiting the brilliance of Naughty Dog releasing Uncharted 4 next month.

The Xbox One has been out over 2 years and MS are bringing some of their exclusives to PC, I doubt anyone who owns an Xbox One or is thinking of buying one will care if every game goes to PC it makes no difference to them as the vast majority of console owners either don't want to game on PC or simply can't afford to that's why they buy the console in the first place.
The more money MS make by releasing on both their platforms instead of just one the more they will have to invest in future games.
What PS4 exclusives are you currently playing ?, you only mentioned a game that's not even out yet .

Actually, things are not great for MS, and as a multi console owner from the past three gens of gaming this time around I am not about to buy into MS due to lack of exclusivity things are definitely bad for MS. The introduction of games for Windows 10 that were Xbox One 'exclusives' now means I can simply play them on my PC instead. Leaving the exclusives solely for my Wii U and PS4 because there will not be any emulators any time soon to play the likes of Mario Kart 8 and Uncharted 4.

I never made the comment to imply that it was, just saying that 500gb is woefully inadequate. I was commenting because not everyone is aware, even I was not for a good while of owning my PS4 that games were being installed and filling the HD.
As for not being expensive or difficult that depends on the end user. Not owning an Xbox One I am unsure of the internal (warranty voiding) change involved, but with the PS4 you would either need a backup of your current data to the cloud or external HD to start with and then download latest firmware to a USB stick in order to get past the boot menu in formatting the new hard disk and installing the OS. Relatively easy for the technically minded but not all.....and also bearing in mind that an external drive attached via USB can be used for media storage only.
Admittedly things are easier on the Xbox One because you can just simply add external storage and install games to it. This has its pros and cons, whilst being easier being plug and play choosing instead to replace the internal drive which still is possible would thus invalidate the warranty.
But with nearing sub £200 prices of both stocks of 500gb Xbox One's and PS4s it is most certainly worthy of factoring the disc install and the possibility of inconvenience or hard disk change that would increase the cost.
For me a sensible option was a 2TB external HD which you can generally buy cheaper and remove from the USB controller, although not all brands have detachable USB to SATA interfaces (soldered connector) so you have to be careful which brand you have....Seagate are good choices for this and what I used.

500gb is never enough if you have a healthy library of games whether you buy your media physically or digitally.
This is the same for both the PS4 and Xbox One because even if you do buy physical media both consoles have mandatory hard disk installs anyway.

It's not that expensive or difficult to add more storage further down the line when you need it. Some of these comments make it sound like you're stuck with whatever limit your console has from day one.
ReflexReact
14 Apr 16#44
Even at effectively under 200 for the console, I am not finding myself drawn to buying it for the limited number of exclusives it has (and with TR coming to PS4 this fall, it gets worse for MS!)
Good price though if you want one!

Funny enough anyone could go on a PS4 deal and say the exact same thing but your joking with the Tomb Raider comment right ?. Yes it gets really bad for MS that Tomb Raider is released a Year Later on the PS4 than it is on Xbox one !! that must be really bad for MS :smirk: , lol, fanboy.

How large is the game? 45gb? 500gb in this digital age isn't enough, I am a fan of the "real life" physical copies myself but with GWG/ps+ and the odd cracking sale title, plus update files and DLC 500gb is munched away in no time.

The FCC application is for an 802.11ac wireless chip which could simply mean that MS are updating their wireless chip from the current model.

Phil Spencer has said that Xbox 1.5 isn't going to happen, so I doubt you'll see that 4K version. PS4K is the only one that's rumoured, and even then won't make the original PS4 obsolete from what's being said.
Meanwhile, applications to the FCC suggest that the Xbox One Slim is indeed coming.

Thanks op...so does anyone think this first gen of the Xbox One will likely go much lower than this? I keep hearing rumours of a slim version approaching, though wouldn't have thought it would drastically alter the price of the original models much more than this?

You mean, when will they get round to actually releasing a proper new gen console? All this talk of PS4.5 and a new and improved X1 is kinda insulting when the current PS4 is more akin to a PS3.5 and the X1 being a 360.5. Hell, even the amount of remakes we're seeing this gen lends itself to these consoles being nothing more than minor upgrades to the machines that came before them.
