Released Friday. £5 cheaper than the Game option, so maybe time to get those orders cancelled and re-ordered.
STAR FOX ZERO - FIRST PRINT EDITION CONTAINS:
-Star Fox Zero Steelbook Case
-Star Fox Guard Game
-Star Fox Zero Game
Fox, Falco, Peppy and Slippy save the Lylat system in this new deep space dogfighting adventure. Using the Wii U GamePad controller and the TV together creates a unique interface that allows players to experience the game with two different viewpoints within the Arwing – aim and shoot enemies in one direction while flying in another. This frees up the TV for a more cinematic flight experience. Then, pilot the Arwing with its new Walker transformation, along with the new Gyrowing and the Landmaster Tank, to traverse interplanetary terrain.

Just had my £49.99 copy shipped direct from nintendo. Thankfully, the free t-shirt should go some way to soften the blow of the extra fiver!

I thought this was supposed to be Nintendo store and Game exclusive? (at least that's what it says on the game website).

Technically it is for Britain but Gamestop's European HQ is in Ireland and these special editions are pan-European.

Thanks for the replies, I thought it would only apply to Gamestop.ie, already got it from Game, might have got it from Gamestop with hindsight.

If I order this tonight, will it ship and arrive in time for Friday? Not sure how good Gamestop are for delivering preorders, especially cutting it this close.

Shock news! GAME tell lies! Stop the press  Would always rather order from Gamestop than GAME anyway, especially as I'll only get charged once for it

Reviews are pretty average so far. Although I kind of thought that would be.
I'll definitely hold out for a very cheap solus version some point down the line.

Seems to be getting pretty good scores, quick search shows mostly 7s/70% to 9s/90%. Good price and heat added but think I will wait for a cheaper deal on Zero, Guard is only £12.99 on eShop.

On a small plus side, Star Fox Zero Guard is a physical copy with the first print edition...otherwise it's a digital only purchase...

Yup, a true limited edition. Which, in this day and age, actually means something!

Have you played/enjoyed any of the Star Fox games in the past? Did you enjoy them?
Those with GAME orders on the way - it's very easy to return, especially if you have a local store (though if you've paid with PayPal, returns have to be via the post). My copy's on its way from the Nintendo UK official store and while I'd probably have opted for this over their £50 including a T-shirt, I'm not particularly unhappy about it.

20 Apr 16#30
Yes I have played them on SNES,N64, GameCube and 3DS. Loved them. Just not sure I'll play it that much right now because of PS4 backlog. I'll no doubt open it when it's £25 everywhere :smirk:
Illusionary
20 Apr 16#31
If you're after the "First Print" edition, that may never happen. Of course, if the solus edition is enough for you, that £25 will be much more achievable.

The game doesn't force you to use the gamepad screen controller like Splatoon does it?

You do have to use the gamepad screen, yes, but very differently from Splatoon's approach.

21 Apr 161#46
Thanks for that. The issue I have with these games is not about how good the gamepad screen controller is for playing them, but that you are forced to use the gamepad controller, that sucks. This has been a real Wii U/Nintendo failure for these 2 top titles.
I am guessing there is no local multiplayer option for Star Fox then? Which will also suck big time.
Noble_6
21 Apr 16#47
Yeah, I would've preferred 'normal' controls. Apparently you use the gamepad for some sort of cockpit view and the gyroscope for aiming. Sounds ****. There is a multiplayer of sorts from my understanding - one playing steers using a normal pad, the other aims and fires using gamepad. Again, sounds ****. Oh well
