This is a complete bargain, and I'm sure it's a pricing error, it should be £159 - £50 off to £109. But instead its priced at £50!! Weber make amazing BBQ's. I bought two, just hope they honor.

Ideal for patios and small gardens, the Weber Original Kettle 47cm Charcoal BBQ is both versatile and compact. This charcoal barbecue features a fire and rust-resistant lid and bowl which are made from steal with a porcelain-enamel coating, making them weather-proof, easy to clean and extremely durable. Rust-proof aluminium vents provide the proper airflow for perfect barbecuing, giving you full control while cooking. The hooded lid and curved body features glass-reinforced nylon handles for added durability and convenience.

The rust-proof ash catcher is removable for simple and easy cleaning while the crack-proof all weather wheels makes the BBQ easily portable. The Weber Original Kettle’s rust resistant cooking grate is triple-plated making it extremely durable and perfect for grilling. The 47cm diameter cooking area gives you sufficient space for a range of meat, poultry and vegetable dishes.

After contacting Tesco, I have been offered the Outback 57cm Red Charcoal Kettle BBQ as a replacement.

I know it is not a weber, but does anyone have any experience of Outback before?

It may be worth calling them to query this. I received the email but had called to query the incorrect item being sent previously. I would have thought the customer service team would be aware and would make any adjustments accordingly.

I haven't got my template as I used the contact us on their website and must have deleted their response. But I did include something like this

I would like to point you at 16.2 of your T&C and highlight that a contract has been formed for Tesco to supply me with the Weber Original. Can you please send me the correct version i ordered and according to your emails dispatched. If this model has been discontinued, I would expect you to offer me the super wedding model or one of a higher spec

Thanks op just had the same email shame it wasn't the original but I am happy with the solution although they had a contract to supply an original as per their T&C

I emailed them with the problem after I collected it...they offered a £15 partial refund, which I was happy with.

To now get full refund is awesome! :smile:

We are really sorry to inform you that the website product description was incorrect and we have dispatched the Weber Compact Kettle Charcoal BBQ rather than the Weber Kettle 47cm Charcoal BBQ the product was advertised as. Unfortunately we don’t stock the superior model which has a deeper bowl compared to the model you have received.

We have since resolved the error on our website and to apologise for any inconvenience, we will be processing a refund for the full value you paid for the barbeque including delivery and you are welcome to keep the product, free of charge. Your refund will be processed within 2 to 5 working days.

We hope you enjoy using your barbeque and once again, we are really sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Collected mine and it was the incorrect model. I was told to take the issue up with tesco direct. Spoke to them and was informed out of stock and only option is to return for a refund which will be back in my account on tues

Phoned up to complain and was told that I can go ahead and use the Compact for now and they will set up a stock alert for me for when it comes back in stock. When it comes back in stock, they will send out the Original one and pick up the used Compact one. However, he was unsure if they were supposed to be stocking the Compact or Original, so it might come back in stock and just be the Compact again, in which case they'll do a return and refund on it if I want to. It may also never come back in stock, in which case they'll also just do a return and refund if I want to.

Basically, they cocked it up, they weren't sure what model they are supposed to be selling, and eventually they might send out an Original. Most likely though, I'll end up with the Compact for a fairly reasonable price, but not quite the great deal that was advertised.

I've just decided not to buy having had one in my basket for about 15 minutes while I looked for something else that'll take me over £75 (to use the £10 off). In reality I dont need one!.

First difference as you pointed out is the depth of the kettle. This allows for more versatile cooking methods compared to the compact models. Also, this one has the one touch system on the bottom vent, so only have to move the one lever to open the three vents, where the compact model has three individual covers which are harder to get to.

These really are worth every penny if you don't want your food tasting of aviation fuel, used with the Weber chimney starter you just need a few sheets of newspaper and your coal to get it going quickly with no added chemicals.

Tesco one has temperature dial and deeper for more coals so longer lasting but not mispriced

Can we all remind people that are unaware that barbecues are never to be placed in a tent as its a coal burning appliance that will omit carbon monoxide and will be fatal even if the bbq is slowly burning out .

Not sure it should ever be £159 as the 57cm is generally around the £80-100 mark. Voted HOT thought as at £50 it is still a good price for what it is.

The photo on my link & the Tesco website look very similar. The cooking area is the same. They are both "Kettles". Still a bit confused why you would buy one over the other (Or how there is any difference...)
The Tesco one looks a bit deeper/height of cooking?

A good price if so, but certainly no misprice or glitch.

EDIT: The one I linked to is 'Compact' but still 47cm. So i'm uncertain if it is the same product / which one is better if not.
