Bought this at my local store. Couldn't find the deal from Sainsbury's website. Cheaper than the Tesco deal. Locked to Vodafone but could get an unlock code from eBay for less than £2.

Marshmallow update seems depending on the retailer. Got sim free one from Argos earlier, not updated to Marshmallow yet. But the one from Sainsbury's updated immediately when I started the phone for the first time.

My understanding is that the update has taken place overseas in countries such as India. It is due to happen in the UK, but no date known currently for the Moto E 2nd Gen, and the link provided does not mention the UK specifically.

I heard it was going to get Marshmallow, but I don't have it yet.
I saw this in Hendon earlier too.
Very good for the money, a bit slow, but very good battery and decent front speaker. I use mine in bed as I find it doesn't hurt my eyes etc.
