how do I use this to replace an existing router I've got? is it easy to do?
For this price not much to complain. Got 3x just in case I need them, for using as it is, no need for dd-wrt or else. Reviews are passable, it's a Broadcom based. Interestingly search doesn't find the product, but with link from HUKD it shows up.

This box is only a router & wireless access point. It doesn't include a modem so it can't plug directly into your phone line. If you get broadband over the phone you'll either need to buy a modem or use your existing router as a modem.
I might be wrong, plusnet broadband is ADSL, but plusnet fibre broadband is VDSL

This will probably work as a replacement if you have fiber from bt/sky/talktalk ect as long as you have an Openreach Modem

gutted,i had a feelin it wouldnt bve any good but i was hoping for a way around it,basically i wonna encrytp my router with a vpn,ive tried sharing itso my lappy is a hotspot,its supposedly running right(as a virtual router-my lappy) but i keep getting authentication problem on my phone and or tablet ,looks like im screwd then grrrrr

For an AC router the price is unrivalled, plus the review issues are with the software so that's nothing a openwrt flash can't fix. If you're getting a bargain like this you've got to put a bit of work in.

I think you'll find the problems are hardware related i.e. overheating. Lots of people flashed with various e.g. ddwrt but unhelpful
