Most Travelodges have now been done up. I stayed in one last year (Thanet Way), a family room and it was newly renovated and spotlessly clean. Flat screen TV, helpful staff and £36 for a family of four, and at the end of the day all we needed was somewhere clean, warm and dry to shower and sleep. I would have no problem using them again.

Don't pay with american express, they seem to refuse discount. Learned hard way now.

Seems it's not actually valid anymore although I definitely used it yesterday and got 10% off.
