I don't get the comments saying "it's dire" or "it's rubbish". Why is it rubbish?

For 29 quid one of these lives in the garage and cleans up all my DIY mess which means I'm not filling my Dyson's filters with brick dust. It doesn't blow dust everywhere - the bag and filter deal with that.

Downside? I have to check for small tools, bits, etc before using it - if it's small enough to pass through the hose, it WILL suck it up.

If you want a cheap vac to do the rough and dirty jobs, get this.

I have this and for occasional use for diy etc it's great. Good suction etc and I think it's a wet vac too. It's £30, so let's not pretend it's anything like a top end vacuum, but seriously it's a bargain.

Awful, is relative. As people would be using this for things they wouldn't dream of asking Henry or Dyson to deal with, then it is fine.

For rubble, don't use a bag.
For liquids, no bag or filter.
For dust use a bag and filter.

I know because the instructions told me.

I have had the 16l version for a year while doing a house conversion. It works really well has great suction and has helped me quite a bit. It does have flaws however, the parts that come with it are a joke very lightweight and cheap (understandably i guess). The deal breaker for me was the bags which work out at £1.80 each, thats for a pack of 5 at £8.99, there are a few compatibles on ebay but even they are expensive. Am i being tight? Maybe, but that seems very expensive. I have experienced the blow dust out the bag issue, that seems to occur if the bag has come loose or when its full so not a major issue for me. Its seen some abuse and I would buy again its just the bags that put me off some what. Someone suggested slitting the side, emptying the bag and then restapleing it together but this seems like a step too far!

The number of differing views surrounding this product are amazing. I wonder if they had a faulty batch? For the record, I've owned mine for 18 months now, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. It's very powerful. It uses large capacity bags which take a lot of filling. I've only used it as a wet vac a couple of times, but had no problems. It seems very loud compared to our other cleaners (Henry and Vax) but it sucks as well as either of them, and was bought primarily for the heavy duty jobs that I wouldn't want to subject our pricier vacuums to. I would definitely recommend one. And don't forget Screwfix offer a two year warranty.

hmmm, this seems fine for heavy diy use. I keep mine for garage use, plenty of suction power imo. if sucking up dust use the bag otherwise yes it will blow out the back.

Henry /Hetty/Charles /Jack etc have less powerful motors (Because of European legislation )

Edward has 66% more bin capacity, so if you normally use it a lot without emptying, you may notice the difference if you replace it with a Henry

This isn't really meant as a regular vacuum. It's more a garage/workshop vac for dust extraction, cleaning up spills etc. For that, it's great.

DO NOT BUY. I BOUGHT 3 ALL RUBBISH. SUCTION POWER NOT ENOUGH. HAD TO RETURN THEM ALL.

git the bigger version very good can use it with a bag or just the drum and the blow feature very useful :wink:

Hovers still have bags?

I bought one and took it back the next day. totally rubbish. Recently bought a Nilfisk Buddy II and I'm pleased with it, just like my jet wash. The buddy 2 is an old model so look out for deals on it.

take that £30 and buy an used henry, this is PURE JUNK!

Can also confirm it is a good vac. I've seen bagless (which is technically not true, it is just more filters no bag) go all wrong because people assume you never have to clean the filters and just tip the dust out. I'd use this with bags, the bag lasts forever. Haven't had the dust blowing out the back problem yet.

Had mine over a year now never had a problem! its very powerful and does me what it says on the tin so to speak :sunglasses:

if you can find a henry for this price then get one......i bought one late last year to clear upmess after a building project. not had any suction/blow back issues with it, and for the £35.00 i paid, its worth the money IMHO!

I use it for hoovering up DIY mess and very happy with it. Does the job well, better than the cheap Argos hoover I had and saves potentially damaging the Dyson.

So far no problems. Very lightweight. Moves around the floor better than a Henry /Hetty etc and 2yr warranty

This is rubbish - do not buy.
With or without a bag, it can frequently blow out the dust that you are collecting..
The design is flawed because the filter becomes easily blocked and then the dust you are collecting just gets blown out the other hole.. When this happens it makes a right mess.

I bought this in june 2014 at 39.99 and I wasn't too sure at the time if I'm honest as to how good it was but bought it anyways based on the reviews at screw fix. It turned out to be a great buy (for me anyway) as two years and half a house extension later it is still working fine and no issues really. However I will point this out changing the bags is a little hassle that I wasn't quite used to compared with the Dyson we use for the house in general and of course the added cost of buying bags once you run out. Other than that you really cannot complain you get a lot of bang or should I say suck for your money :sunglasses:
