Obscure humour, one grain of rice with one grain of salt

It say "Reduced to Clear". I checked today and it is still about 20 on the shelf.

I think "wild" rice is a different strain/species to the regular "cultivated" rice.
It's black too. I seem to recall reading somewhere it is grown off the coast of california/mexico.

I thought rice was grown in some sort of pad (wet) fields in various Asian countries where there is a high water level. It all ultimately goes through some factory process for preparing for sale once picked, but it is all wild too. Never heard of anyone growing rice in their house, greenhouse, or in factory/indoor environment.

Is the Tilda "giant" stuff actually just normal typical size then? Just wondering if this "giant", "wild" rice is just marketing rubbish?

Or maybe the type of store plays a role? I love this rice even if it's not strictly speaking rice, would be interesting to know in what kind of tesco the deal works and where it dosn't
