Day 1 patches for starters, DLC, added content, patches further down the line. You really do cripple yourself not having internet

Not true. You maybe getting confused with EA access.
If you have gold for that month buying the free game gets you the licence for that game on your Xbox and your gamer tag for life, regardless of your gold status.

The controls take a while to click, but it's worth persevering with.

As already stated, any games you get on Xbox One with gwg are yours to keep for 'life' but are only playable if you have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.

....and that'll be 30 days too long IMHO! Quite honestly, the worst game I've played in a long time. I gave it ten minutes and my mind was shot! At this point I realised I shouldn't take the recommendations of others too seriously. Maybe getting old, but I won't be playing that again. Shame I bought a physical copy a couple of month ago for £12.**, before getting in on GWG. :disappointed:

It's a good deal for people without Gold but i'd think most people would be happy getting a digital copy for free with LIVE if they have it than spend even a small amount on a physical copy. Is the game long or have replayability? Otherwise you could pick up a 3 month membership for £7-10, play SO, complete it within a month and get more free games to try out if you weren't bothered going back to SO.

Just to add a bit of fuel to the fire, I've got both PS4 and Xbone and i'll let my Gold lapse after this month as I'm on the PS 90% of the time now. (i was xbox fanboy up until recently). Dont really want 2 subscriptions, but this game is brilliant so for someone like me its a great deal, if i didint have it already.

You cannot play any Xbox one games with gold after your sub has expired.

You just miss out on a lot of what the xbox has to offer. Straight off the bat you're missing out on 48games a year, ea access, day 1 patches

Yes with the PS4/X1 I'd say having internet is virtually essential because the games released on disc are essentially unfinished a lot of the time, and they rely on Day 1 patches to actually finish the main development and fix the most pressing bugs. Some games are released on disc and just have minor bugs but unfortunately most publishers/developers now treat Day 1 patch as the deadline for actually finishing the game, not when it needs to go onto a disc.

I find it baffling how there are still dumb Xbox fanboys claiming you can keep Xbone GWG titles without a sub, despite multiple members and sources disproving them. Here's a tip for the dim - let your Gold membership expire and see if you can play your "free for life" GWG Xbone titles. Spoiler - you can't. They'll be locked until you re-subscribe. It's only 360 games they let you keep.

I don't understand your point? Some people have a PC or ps4 as their primary multiplayer device therefore an gold subscription isn't worthwhile to pay for.

not sure if it's been mentioned , but the one good thing with xbox live compared to ps+is you get to keep xbox360 games even when you sub runs out

If these people are on hot deals one would assume that they have some form of internet access.
Let's face it the Xbox one is really designed for people who have decent broadband coverage and a high data allowance.
Games are released half finished and unbalanced.
How can you patch a game without good broadband.

A nice tip for those who don't like using card details . I've swapped banks and my old account is closed , but as my card is technically in date , MS will still accept the card details for the freebie games. No chance of it ever being used for fraud tho .

You can still play GwG without the subscription but only offline. If you boot it up whilst connected then it'll register the fact your membership expired and you'll no longer be able to access it.

Nope, if you buy a games with gold game you own it permanently, even if your gold runs out.

Half true in that you cannot play the online coop mode obviously without live, but can still play single player without subscription

Also worth noting if you buy Xbox live for 1 month, you get 4 games to keep with sunset overdrive being just one of them this month meaning that it turns out to be £1.50 :man:

Alot of people don't understand that when you get the games then your live runs out you Can still play it as its yours but you have to press play offline in settings. Bit silly if you buy a game and cant play it lol

If you have an Xbox One but don't use it for multiplayer you don't need Xbox live gold. Not having gold doesn't cripple your internet you can still have a live account and get patches, DLC etc I don't know why people keep bleating on about 'no internet'.

For this price it's a bargain if you don't have Gold, great game and completely nuts.

I paid £15 a couple of months back, not knowing I'd be getting it on Gold. Definitely worth playing.
