Because it's an astonishingly brilliant phone especially for it's even more astonishing price. Great specification for sub £100 and at one point it was £89.99. This is deal website is it not? It's not the same person mentioning it, loads of people do because it's a generally well received phone tried and tested by many members here. It's also 1/5 the price of most flagships. Oh and also (might aswell mention it), Smart Ultra 6.
My smart ultra 6 went off for repair today so had a look at this instore Derby.
Screen isn't as nice imo as the su6 although feels more premium, and battery is smaller. Camera seemed really good, but then it was a well lit store. Is it worth £70 more than my smart ultra 6? Not sure... And to think it was £300 on release, no wonder they've had to drop the price.

I coulnd't agree more about the Smart Ultra 6. I bought one for £99 a few weeks ago and I am amazed at the value. It doesn't even need rooting or modding as the android is almost stock The vodafone bloatware can just be uninstalled if needed. Amazing phone for the money. Other manufacturers are charging rip off prices, this sony experia included.
In fact, because my Mum's £650 Iphone 6 plus is white like my SU6 I sometimes pick her phone up by mistake thinking it's mine.

Great specs for the price, I only wish it had a bigger screen and 32gb storage.

Naaa for 175 Price point, There are so many other deals flying buy or generation before this handset that can be picked up refurbished or new for similar price even beating the specs, being it's not sony flagship must be questionable how long there suppourt it

Picked up a brand new Sony z2 for £80 on eBay. Really I don't think it's that good for the money loads of good phone deals at the moment.

As an SU6 owner this looks good because the SU6 is just too big to hold for me

Anyone got experience of unlocking this model of phone?
I'm quite looking forward to someone releasing a phone that makes the SU6 look poor value, not sure how anyone could really improve it though. The camera is probably the worst feature, but I came from a moto G and the SU6 is much better, its only compared to the wifes 1020 in low light that it doesn't look as good. Don't care about 4k screens or 4k recording, could add a pointless finger print scanner or 2 cameras for 3d, but for making calls, texting, browsing and gaming of which I've yet to find a game that won't work properly. Colleague of mine just purchased a samsung s6 for several times the price over 2 years, other than the samsung badge I don't see where all the additional £300 or so has been spent. I must pay her too much.

Why mention Smart Ultra 6 in every mobile deal?

Anyone know if these come unlocked if they are bought in a Vodafone store, or if they have any Vodafone branding on the boot up screens?

Just a word small of warning, my better half has this phone and it doesn't hook up to her car bluetooth very well. She has to have the phone out of her handbag and sat in the middle coin tray for it to work unlike her sony xperia sp which worked fine in her bag. Not a deal breaker but could be an annoyance to factor in if considering buying it. I imagine this problems exists when using with bluetooth soundbars and the like as well.

Its back at 175. Is this much better than the m4 aqua. Am dubious about the mediatec processor, there has been well known GPS problems on earlier models. I am wondering if the GPS will lose fine motor control quicker than the m4, that's crucial as I use mmtracker app with ordnance survey explorer maps and need precise navigation whilst walking. Will the m4 get marshmallow soon so you can concatenate the internal memory with the micro SD card.

Good deal and heat added. Went to store yesterday and still on offer, it's worth noting though that you have to buy a £10 top up (only gives 500MB pm) and you have to stay with them for 3 months before they'll unlock it for the fee of £19.99 which adds to the overall cost :smirk:

Yet another reason for never buying a locked phone......as if any were otherwise needed.

to be fair, their policy is 30 days and £20 vs about £13 from other sources to fully maintain your warranty from the retailer I think is worth it.

I thought it was 30 days too but girl in store insisted you had to wait 90 days. Still a good deal if you're happy to stay with them 90 days.
Has anyone got this phone? I'm thinking about getting it when I've got the money. The waterproofing and good camera is inticing me. I also looked at the Z3+ but most reviews say that there are serious overheating issues there. Not as bad as Samsung, but getting there :stuck_out_tongue:
