+ you wouldn't get new 2 zooms, a prime and a camera combo cheaper than this
+ has in body image stabilization
+ EVF rather than optical viewfinder in Nikon. Some prefer optical, I don't
- Sony A-mount is discontinued as far as I know, it's E-mount mirror-less now. However, there are quite a few Sony and third party lenses. And even primes become stabilized because it's in body!
- 5300 is more recent, things move fast and all that, has higher sensor resolution
- I personally prefer Nikon ergonomics
- A58 is quite cheaply built and plasticky. Probably the only DSLR with plastic lens mount
the a mount isnt discontinued. The new a68 has only just been released. But sony do seem to be more focused on e mount.

I have a A6000, can you get an adapter to fit these lenses to it? or is that just silly?

Yes, there are adapters allowing you to use A-mount lenses on E-mount camera. The ones made by Sony support autofocus, there are also cheaper adapters (e.g. ebay), but those lack AF. If you want autofocus on older A-mount lenses (with screwdrive autofocus), you need the LA-EA4, that costs 230gbp. These lenses probably have build in AF motors (SAM), so the LA-EA3 (130gbb) is probably enough. Not sure what the autofocus performance of this combination would be though.
I don't think I would get this bundle for the lenses. They will be quite big with the adapter, and when including the cost of the adapter the money would probably better spend on e-mount lenses.

For the cost involved just get the SEL55-210 and SEL50. You can can pick them up for about £100 each if you keep your eyes open.

Sony have been on record recently as saying A mount isn't abandoned. I personally think they'll go where the money is like any business. You can use Minolta AF lenses which can sometimes be gotten hold of quite cheaply.
Opening post
Sony a58 SLT Camera + 18-55mm Lens
Sony 50mm f/1.8 SAM Lens
Sony DT 55-200mm f/4-5.6 Lens
Nice starter kit..:)
