Not bad, at least it doesn't have a huge SMEG logo like the fire place they offer

How about Smeg Dolce & Gabbana Fridge Freezer for 30k
Reports of rubbish cutlery basket? Anyone got one? Seems this isn't far off the normal price.

Reviews suggested to keep the old cutlery basket..

When I buy a new dish washer I'm not going to buy one that requires parts from my old dishwasher!

I use to think my old Smeg dishwasher was pretty good until I replaced it with a Bosch

That was an interesting suggestion from a reviewer for those who finds issue with the cutlery basket!!

I had a smeg dishwasher that lasted under 3 years, we won it in a raffle, so we weren't too bothered when it broke (faulty electric circuits due to water ingress and a failed pump) ... Switched to a Bosch one and haven't looked back, miles better IMO.
But they must have improved if they're willing to put a five year guarantee on it, so maybe I got a dodgy one.

Is this a great deal? It's a different machine to DI6013 which is the expensive one.

I believe both of them are the same, with this model has a separate cutlery basket(many people did not like the design of that cutlery basket though). I have been to smeg website and could not see any more information. The Original selling price of this model was £399 and Curry's confirmed that this is s genuine £100 reduction down to £299. Comments from others are welcome.
good timing, many thanks, ordered, delivery tuesday, voted hot

Did you opt for installation and recycling of the old one?

Google the different models with and without the d and look at the images. The one with d in the model number has fewer controls on it, it's a lower spec version.

the which review does kind of put you off if it's the same. people in general seem to be giving good reviews though

Have a SMEG DIC6-1. Cutlery basket is poor - very cheap plastic.
Washing performance is average at best. Glasses all come out cloudy, even with Finish 4-1 Powerballs, Finish rinse Aid and Salt fully loaded!!
Cutlery sometimes still dirty; Top basket doesn't support glasses well.
Had a Bosch previously - so much better. My dishwasher doesn't even have a digital display to show cycle time
Appreciate this is a different model so may be better, but for me the Smeg brand doesn't seem to count for much on ours

Have to set it up for the type of water in your area, soft/hard etc? I am very pleased with the results of the wash, cutlery basket is a bit small though.

No, gave my old dishwasher away and installed the new one myself, instructions for fitting door are a bit naff but overall very pleased with the deal, 5 year warranty is excellent.

Dumb question but how do you adjust for your water softness? Thanks
cheekytrucker
26 Apr 16#39
Open the dishwasher door, top left hand corner is your program button (Large square button beside the green led lights) hold it in for 10-15 seconds when it flashes tap it to move from soft to med to hard water.
