i think youre missing the point, its a 480gd SSD for 90 quid... if you want the performance youre talking about youre looking at £150+.... 90 quid for a 480 ssd is a good deal i think

It's expired but if anyone will look for benchmark results:
Samsung Ultra II 480GB
Samsung Evo 840 120GB for comparison
both ine the same PC, connected to Sata 3, 6Gbps

If you're waiting, you might as well wait for 1TB @ £100. I still think we MIGHT see it on the most basic (think sandisk plus atm) spec drives on black friday. They've been as low as £142 last year.

I feel like these drives aren't good purely because they are constantly on offer with a code, and the 120gb versions are often on offers free with graphics cards.
I know they are good as I know people using them, and despite the 'slow' performance I can never tell the difference between that my slightly faster SSD not Samsung but almost as fast as a samsung, its almost like there is no difference in real world use...
I'm waiting for an awesome M2 factor deal with actual speed increases that I can't benefit from but weirdly want !

This price reappears about once a month at least. Worth waiting for it to pop up again if you miss it and vote down any deals that go over this price so these stay this low.

You need to use the code

I guess we were too slow.. Back up to £108.99 inc. vat.
Really can't understand these instant price drops and then increases.
That's nearly a £30 difference.

ah ok you have a point, i thought by the way you were talking about sata3 you meant an m.2 storage drive... yeah ive a 240 850 evo, good drive
This is a different model, todays deal is for the Ultra II - which i believe is a bit faster, but whether it is worth the extra £5 I don't know tbh.

You can still get the SanDisk 480GB for £84.99 (deal is posted on HUKD)

First 85 weeks ago but not right now or today or tomorrow. Whatever deal posted yesterday doesn't matter because you are not getting that £85 today, so today this is the best deal for 480GB.
So next part (Boot Windows, Run Apps or Games) they all work exactly same on 850 EVO or 850 PRO or this one.
I have all three right now and they all performing similar and I hate to say that I wasted my money on SAMSUNG.
And last one why not we spent £17 more and + £17 more and + more so we can get Intel 750 PCIE
Have a good day my friend.

90 quid for a 480GB SSD that was 85 quid a week ago... Not such a great price!
Yes, it's the cheapest at the moment, but SSD deals happen weekly if not daily.
Also, good performance SSDs at 480GB, the Samsung Evo 500 GB is 110 and the 1 TB is 197 atm.
20 quid more for the Evo, or double up the size and spend 17 more.
Don't forget you get 20 more GB on the Evo. Not completely irrelevant.

Good deal but not as good as Samsung evo 850 500gb ssd for the same price but then it's not Black Friday. Heat added

Prob. the best 480/500GB deal today. This is a better drive than OCZ and SanDisk PLUS drives that were popular couple of weeks back.

depends on your definition of deal
lowest price? check
best read/write speed & IOPS? no
best price to performance ratio? mmm not really
Frankly, buying one of these drives today and getting excited is like buying a horse and buggy for 20% less than a car and getting excited that you don't need to walk anymore
You're just buying 3 year old technology that has come down in price as it nears the mainstream (not quite obsolescence - SATA 3 is still a few years away from that)

So your guess at 150+ is off by a lot.
