Just turn 90-degrees anti-clockwise and you won't go far wrong.

I know nothing about SSD's. I know about the usual hard drives. Looking for a drive of some description to go into a laptop. Any help appreciated.

Basically If your laptop takes ages to startup and makes you feel like you live in stone age it will make it 27 times faster then what it is. Your laptop will turn into a super sonic jet by this is SSD drive.(replaced by hard drive)

Changed all my hard drives for SSD it's the cheapest way to reinvigorate a slower machine, average boot time now is 25-30'seconds. Sandisk are a solid brand.

Holy ****, I think I'll wait till the 960GB, time to boot up your time machine again mate

OK. I guess it's just a case of setting the boot order in the BIOS then?

Should be ok in either. I've seen a couple of people have issues trying to boot from the caddy but technically there is no reason why it can't.

I've just been testing my newly developed time machine and went forward in time to Oct 26 2016. 480gb SSD is now £27.99 with a free cuddly Minion toy.

or get a caddy, swap out your DVD drive and keep your mechanical drive as well.

Presumably, when doing this you need to put the mechanical drive in the DVD bay if you want the SSD drive to be the boot device?

Had 3 OCZ SSDs a while back which all failed in the same year. All pain in the backside returns to the Neterlands also. Safe to say I wont be going back. Sandisk anyday over that trash.

Thanks OP, have just ordered to replace the HD in my ageing 2009 MacBook Pro. Hopefully this was counterbalance the slow down brought on by Yosemite and El Capitan and will save the laptop a flight out if the window!

Certainly helped with mine when I had an SSD in my Macbook. Once you have one you won't want to go back.

I don't trust OCZ for anything. Trust or not for sandisk, I would avoid all products under the OCZ umbrella, even with the Toshiba purchase, they are still below the rest of the field in reliability.

Better off with ocz version which has been previously the same price, write speed is slow for an ssd.

Personally I'd trust Sandisk over OCZ for reliability and as to disk speed, in general/real-world use this is much less relevant - in canned benchmarks the OCZ may well win. People going from HDD to SSD will notice the difference even if it's the slowest SSD on the market.

Did apply the code and free slow delivery option is available.
these need to be about £40 or less to be competitive as all the other sizes have tumbled

yeah i know i just wanted to say that if you dont wanna order anything else it cost 52 with delivery which is only 4quid less than normal price with free delivery. but i assume free delivery is a 5day option. i ordered laptop once from them with feee 5 day delivery on friday and i received it on tuesday 12 days later. they offer 5 WORKING DAYS delivery so you can count for 10-12 normal days sometimes.
so wouldn't recommend that option
but drive alone is a good offer for that money

If you just order this, then delivery is free, but if you order something else as well, and the total is under £50, you get charged delivery!

Bargain - been cheaper before but only by £5, so if you need an SSD this is a solid price.
