If you can, can you run a test in a smartphone (assuming that is what you bought it for). Speeds on a PC are generally faster than smartphones and devices.

Nah, I sell old sd cards as added incentive when I sell phones on eBay. Recent crop of phones stopped that from being possible (flung in old headphones instead lol) but now that Android devices are taking micro sd cards again, I can continue

I can't be the only one with a collection of 'bargain' SD cards going back over years, all 'must have' bargains at the time, but now ridiculously small and worth about a penny each.
Going to pass on this one..........I hope.

This is the newer card. The transfer rate is the write speed, not the read speed. If you want 90MB/s writes you'll have to go for the 64GB Extreme Pro

Of course they were. Warnings were before eBay was invented. Before SD cards appeared. Before the internet even. To be fair though, there may well have been. Not as widespread as YOU make out, I know from when I actually bought them. Time has inflated your memory of the warnings no doubt.
Conveniently.

There are two versions of this card. An older model which only reads at 30MB/s and writes at 15 MB/s and a newer model which reads at 80MB/s (People on Amazon have hit 90-95MB/s) and writes at 40MB/s
Scrolling down on the tesco page to additional information, it states 80MB/s read speed so should be the newer one. In fact, I haven't seen the slower version of this card anywhere for a long time.

NOTHING! Apart from having something in your hand that is crap if it doesn't work. If and provided you pay via Paypal, like the majority do now, then you are COVERED! I have bought the occasional dud and got instant refund via Paypal, and not even bothered to return. I buy and sell loads on there. 99 per cent of the time all goes well, there are scammers and rubbish everywhere.
Anyway, the one on ebay is from America post free. SanDisk is, wait for it ...an American global company in Miami. Perhaps they can get them cheaper? Who knows? Their feedback is 100%. Worth the chance in my book!
Obviously if you are buying one from Taiwan at peanuts you don't have to think twice. Anyway, just go on Ebay usa and have a look - yep, loads, china, Taiwan, USA all varying prices. They say you pay for what you get... you used to! Today, you can easily pay way over the odds for many goods. The suckers will always pay too much.

Or have someone lecture and act as if they've never made such an error of trust like yourself, maybe ?
So to you, making such an error 10 years+ ago (twice by same seller in Ireland with a Polish name, buying an SD and a micro) and one previously in China when warnings against were thin on the ground - is the same as 10 years plus of warnings against doing such a thing from all concerned ?
So - does that mean those taking a damaging drug 10 years after multiple warnings AGAINST taking that drug is no different to those being amongst first victims ?
Wisdom after the event is easy, pal.
You defending a person suggesting buying an SD micro off eBay NOW isn't wisdom though

hot bought. eBay wise been there done that got fake cards (in terms of capacity) normally buy always from my memory but this is a steal. I do find these basic ones speed barely achieve 30mb, but for me and in most cases buying the extreme versions are of little benefit (currently using an SanDisk extreme up but 64gb).

This is a good price, but what really are the advantages of this over 2 x 64gb cards from Amazon for £14.98 each (£29.96 for 2)? I've had a few problems with microSD cards (all genuine - not fake) so I'd be a bit apprehensive over buying a big capacity card like this in case it fails.
Ok they'd cost you another £4 for the same capacity but it seems a more logical deal to me - thoughts?
takke to Phila4
30 Apr 161#25
Depends on what you're using it for. If you're looking for a microSD card for your Android phone, clearly a single 128GB would be better. For a camera, you could get 2 64GBs and swap them in and out, which might be more convenient anyway.
