Are you using some ancient Humax Box from 1984? I have had my Humax for about 4 years and it connects fine with an HDMI cable.

Great deal. I have the JU6400 from Richer Sounds - the JU6445 is basically the JU6400 but Currys spec ie slightly different from manufacturers so you can't price match it (almost all their stuff is like this).
Love the TV though

Just a word of warning, these TVs do not work correctly with the BT UHD Youview Box.
Samsung and BT are aware of the problem. Hopefully working on a fix !

Think it finished on Thursday: when we picked up a set at 10 am it was showing as having under 2 hours to go. Through work I managed to get 7 per cent off the price after o2's £30 discount so ended up paying £436 - sweet! Very happy with the set, very easy to set up and the picture quality is a noticeable improvement over my previous full HD set

Paid £689 for this model from Currys just before Christmas. £499 now is a bargain for a decent quality and spec Samsung.
Took me a couple of weeks of fiddling to get the colour and motion settings to my liking.
I turned the motion enhancers off and picture colour to dynamic with a couple of minus notches on the saturation.
There has been a couple of over the air software updates automatically installed on mine since December which seem to have mostly cured my only complaint which was motion judder on some soaps, especially Eastenders.

That will be purely opinion - you are best advised to view the screens yourself knowing what you want to view the most.
Also the OS for the sets has a big part to play. Personally I like LGs WebOS with its "magic remote". I don't like AndroidOS on TVs. So for me, Samsung beats Sony on that alone.
Samsung screens are "harder" "brighter" "more saturated" than Sony screens as a general rule...

Not that I'm aware of, just seems to be a minor differential for Currys/PCWorld.
Samsung get their sets on display in a retail environment and they get a product which people can't find cheaper on price comparison sites.
