I have been looking for a TV with no nonsense on it for the bedroom, I didn't want smart and have no use for a TV tuner as I use a Fire Stick and a Raspberry Pi. I suppose quite a few people watch TV like this now with Now TV boxes, Kodi etc.
It also looks ideal for parents to put it Kids bedrooms so they have control over what they watch, rather than having a built in Tuner. Such as a DVD player. Blu Ray, Xbox, PS etc.
Might be good for use on a CCTV system as well.
There is one of these in a local pub I go to used to display beer adverts, I was always impressed with the picture quality on it and at first thought it was an illuminated poster.
Yes there is no tuner, but looks like these are intended for professional use so will be good quality and a lot better than a TV for this sort of price range.
No stand obviously, but I already have a wall mount and they are also cheap, the seller has got another listing with the wall mount included at £129.99, but it says the screws don't fit, so will have to source screws if you get that one.
I've double checked the specs and there is a remote included and it also has speakers built in.
It comes with an EU plug, so you will have to use a UK cloverleaf style lead (Like a laptop), swap the plug or use an adaptor.
Here are the specs:

This isn't designed to do what you're wanting - it only accepts vga or dvi, so to use a NowTV box on this will require an adaptor to split the signal to DVI and 2ch audio. Not impossible, but you can probably get a fully fledged tv for a similar price.

They have a similar model (same size 32") that mentions "Create stunning and seamless video walls in full HD resolution thanks to an upgraded Samsung SMART Signage Platform (SSP) and full range of connectivity options."
I'm not to clued up on it, maybe someone with more knowledge can comment?

The 48 inch one I had is rated as 8ms (feels about right, it's as easy to game on as my PC - especially compared to the TV it replaced which was a Sharp Aquos) and its picture quality when gaming at least is phenomenal - my parents have both a kuro and a valencia based Samsung tv and this is on par with the kuro and better than the other, especially once all the crap they come with is turned off - its also really bright which, given the flat I'm in and its stupid window placement, is really important. I simply turn the backlight up if I have the afternoon off work and want to play some Just Cause 3 or equivalent! Sky HD occasionally shows interlacing where there is text which can become annoying, but thats sky's fault for not allowing 1080p output and ny fault for calibrating it for 1080p rather than turning on some nice filters for interlaced content - but otherwise it's lovely.
I should add that I only paid £170 or so for it too in a clearance sale so I might be slightly over singing it's praises, but I genuinely don't think you can get much better for gaming unless you're willing to compromise on size, and if I didn't already have a dual monitor setup I would probably be grabbing this for the office!
Tl;dr it's essentially a giant monitor so latency is designed to be as low as can be.

Thanks for that reply mate, sounds very interesting. I wouldn't mind a 48" I've got this idea about putting a screen in a coffee table, with a pc or a pi running it.
I have to say I saw one of these 32" at a pub displaying adverts and was blown away by the clarity, I thought it was a illuminated poster! So decided to look in to them. I noticed Mc Donald's and KFC also have Samsung screens for their menus above the till. They looked exceptionally good.
Just noticed the seller has 55" touch screens as well, that sounds interesting lol.

I don't use this but my mate has what I think is the 48" & it's ace for gaming. No real (noticeable) input lag whatsoever makes a big difference. Of course the picture looks 'raw' compared to people using their tv, but then if you put your tv in 'game' or pc mode it looks the same, because it reduces the input lag by switching off all that picture processing a tv usually does.

These are the types of screens used in some takeaways/food outlets. They come preloaded with some software called Magicinfo to put up demos/price lists etc.
Not sure what it would offer a home user over and above a similar priced standard 32" LED TV though.
Looks a decent price but note there are no USB ports so not great for Chromecast or Fire Stick.
topss
2 Apr 16#74
Unlikely, it will probably fall over. They usually assume a bigger screen will be heavier. Plus that particular stand is VESA 75x75 or 100x100, not the 200x200 you need.
RiverDragon8
2 Apr 16#75
You can easily fit a 200x200 adapter plate. So 32'' on a 27'' stand a no no then? or even if they quote 27'' you can still fit a 32'' monitor?

Never hurts to confirm before making the purchase, thanks for your help.
Probably fine for a TV or a gaming console but PC I'm not sure the pixel density will be low 68.84, maybe sitting further back due to size is fine though,be intersted to know what others think, eg I use dual screen's for work & a few games and was thinking I could replace them for a large monitor but the ratio of this would be too small.

Yes, and you're technically wrong :stuck_out_tongue:
LED TVs are, to give them their full name, LED backlit LCD TVs. This being the case it should make pretty much no difference to viewing angles. The panel technology rather than its backlighting is what generally governs the viewing angle I.e. IPS, PVA, MVA, PLS etc. Most monitors are TN panels that have relatively poor viewing angles - this is why most decent TVs don't use them.

Got mine up and running.... as a TV or for games I can see that this would be great but, to be honest I think the resolution is a bit on the low side for use a a main production monitor. Umming and arring might send it back.
It basically looks the way a TV would look if you plugged in a laptop to it, does not quite have the sharpness of a computer monitor for reading text and over time I think this would hurt my eyes if I was working on it for longer periods.

Monitors have different panel types than tv screens. The pixel format is much better for reading text and they are best for close up viewing.
This is not a monitor it's basically a TV without a tuner and some other added functions to allow it to be used as a digital display in public places. I hoped it would have the panel of a proper monitor as the description states 'monitor". Hence I took the chance but it's not suitable for my day to day work. Will be fine for occasional pc type use but not if like me you're sitting at a desk staring at it all day.

@sshhaabb Being a little nicer to the seller goes a looong way, especially when you didn't pay attention to the product description. And spamming this thread with your personal vendetta makes it harder for the rest of us to find information about the deal/product.
On topic:
I've received the monitor today and I'm impressed. As a bedroom tv ( kodi + fireTV) does a brilliant job.
I was curious about using it as a monitor and here are my findings:
As others pointed out its native resolution (1920 x1080 60Hz) is a bit low for a 32" monitor at close distance but this has more to do with pixel density/ dimensions than with the display quality. From about 3ft looks a lot better. Text clarity was not great out of the box but after a bit of fiddling with sharpness settings and 'windows clear type text' modes it improved greatly.
As a gaming monitor ( played a bit of Fallout4) I was very pleased, didn't notice any lag or anything bad about it .
Overall , for this size and price it's a more than decent monitor and I'm actually considering buying another one just for games.
Thanx a lot OP for a great deal!

As it has said a 32" Monitor not a professional display which is really a TV, The 32" TV i was suing had an option for pc mode. I have not opened the product and I am not going to bother to check it so I am returning it,

Professional Display = Monitor. This does not have a tuner inside, therefore should not be confused with/compared to a TV.
Also, you have opened it as you already mentioned in Post #106
I would keep this in mind when contacting the seller again as they are clearly monitoring HUKD as already mentioned in the message you received from them.

If you're only using it for gaming or watching movies via a fire stick IMO this is a very good display. I thought the picture for distant viewing was very good and pretty sharp, black levels were not the best but good enough. It even has DLNA and I managed to send it pics over wifi via local cast on my phone when it was plugged into a wired connection, didn't try movies but I'm this would work just like any Samsung TV.
I only wish it would be good for close up viewing. I know others are saying it's to do solely with pixel density but I don't think that's the whole picture (pardon the pun). I don't know what type of panel in in this display but you can see each pixels colours when you look really closely. My 24" 1080p is much clearer even from further distances for text. When I look close up at the pixel I only see black on white. I hope that make sense.

You are really annoying. Take you're vendetta elsewhere.
A Television without a tuner, is not officially a television, it's a monitor. This monitor is marketed at professional use, hence professional display. It's cheaper than a TV as it doesn't include a tuner, stand, or smartTV features for example.
As a professional display you can hook it up to even more of these displays, professional users are enticed by this, consumers are generally not, standard consumer monitors don't have this feature, hence professional display.

You believe it's a TV, yet all listings online point to a Monitor/Display and no reference to a TV in any (examples below):
Note how it mentions "monitor" 29 times, mentions how to connect multiple of these "monitors" etc.
Now searching for "tv" returns comments such as "only available with models that include a TV" which this monitor clearly doesn't.
Now, go and enjoy your monitor.....

@ toonarmani
Sorry but it's already set up in my bedroom and the pc is in a different room so I can't help you with the pictures.
If you want to use it as a monitor from 3-4ft I'd say that is fine for general use (browsing, youtube,) but I wouldn't recommend it for something like text heavy applications, cad software etc.
@Tj17usa
It's quite simple, there's a game mode in the display menu which probably cuts off the internal picture processing in order to improve the response time.

Hi, just found the game mode there.
Did you change anything else? And what picture mode are you using? Shops and malls?

8 Apr 16#177
I'm not sure I understand your question. In game mode all picture modes (although on the menu) are deactivated. The picture modes are basically factory presets but you can change each one however you like. So I guess it's not important which one you choose as long as you modify it to your liking.

4. People here say they have had to adjust the lcear text in windows to get it right, this means its not a plug n play monitor.

Hi there
I'm still looking for a suitable stand for this screen.
Could you comment on how satisfied you're with the one you purchased from eBay as I am looking at getting the same? Thanks very much.
Opening post

I should add that I only paid £170 or so for it too in a clearance sale so I might be slightly over singing it's praises, but I genuinely don't think you can get much better for gaming unless you're willing to compromise on size, and if I didn't already have a dual monitor setup I would probably be grabbing this for the office!
Tl;dr it's essentially a giant monitor so latency is designed to be as low as can be.
There's the plug you need for it too, if you aren't happy with the EU one
I was looking at the listings the seller had and thought one was for signage but your right, same model just with wall mount
Why anyone does that is beyond me, but I know a few misguided souls who still use the awful sound from their tv.
I take it it's just 50 or 60hz, but just trying to confirm it.
Also has USB 2 and SD card slot for file playing. Single 10w speaker.

I want one but don't need it. Though as a digital photo frame it would work.
You can technically have the arial plugged in, long as you dont use it... But thats going into tricky water.
Better off going for the £129.99 with wall mount included
I do want a bigger monitor but that'll be for normal PC work so a 27" 1440p (or higher) is the aim (even tho they are still pricey)
Not sure what it would offer a home user over and above a similar priced standard 32" LED TV though.

Also looks like they can be daisychained together if someone wants a video wall lol
Can't wait to get mine to have a play, seems there is some form of Media player built in too would be interesting to see what types of video codec work.

I'll report back once it's actually up and running.
Opened it, no stand with it and the mains plug is not for here.
There was also a separate listing for ~£5 more which included a wall mount, but that said the screws provided did not fit so you would need to source your own, although probably just worth getting a VESA 200x200 mount instead.
Different listing
Same seller
Got longer screws for the wall mount, and they still don't catch. So I'm a bit stumped now. And I don't have any more time till Friday to sort it out.
If anyone else has the intention of wall mounting I would be grateful if you could let me know what screws fitted into the back of the monitor.
Will post some pics later
The screws I have look exactly like the ones that came with the mount but longer so they went into the grooves. It's really starting to bug me why it won't fit!
These?
Frustratingly the free wall mount bracket that comes with the slightly more expensive ebay advert is totally useless - no bolts that fit the back of the monitor and having sourced my own that do - the holes on the mount's bracket are too small to accept the bolts!
It basically looks the way a TV would look if you plugged in a laptop to it, does not quite have the sharpness of a computer monitor for reading text and over time I think this would hurt my eyes if I was working on it for longer periods.
Update....It's going back. Back in the box.
Thanks

You've clearly not bought what you were expecting, but that is not the fault of the seller, you just didn't take the time to check or research, but now expect them to help you out.
