A good cheap slim and lightweight compact laptop. Not the most powerful but good for office tasks and web browsing and 12 hour battery life (according to manufacturer).
Reduced to clear, was reduced to £140 on Tuesday now reduced further to £100. Was in stock this evening 2 in Kenilworth, 3 in Rugby, 1 in Longbridge. I don't know of anywhere else that has stock sorry.
Summary of specs
11.6" Laptop
Atom processor
2gb ram
32gb hard drive
All non-upgradable components. Comes with Office 365 + 1TB OneDrive and free upgrade to Windows 10 (Win 8.1 is installed)
Absolutely silent. No fans whatsoever. Sealed unit, the only slots being for a MicroSD and two USB, along with the small power plug.
Stays cool, even under load. Suitable for use on kitchen tables with plastic type tablecloths etc..
Battery will last a full day of use, provided, under Windows 10, you click on the 'Battery Saver' icon.
WARNING. DO NOT FIDDLE WITH THE BIOS SETTINGS RELATING TO THE OS 'Keys', it will end in tears.. believe me.
The laptop runs a UEFI Firmware and it has, so far, been a waste of time trying to get the likes of Acronis True Image to 'see' the storage.
There's a little bit of flex in the lid, the metallic Asus logo in the lid is just glued on, worth remembering when running a duster over it, the letters will catch on the cloth and bend.
The laptop will run some old gog.com game titles, along with Minecraft on low settings and reduced render viewing distance of 8.
Would I buy this again. Yes. Worth its weight in gold. I love the silence and carefree portability.
Worth pointing out, some people hate blue Leds, I hate blue Leds, there's a bright blue Led in the Power plug. If you're sleeping in the same room as it, you'll notice it.

If not, use some WD40 on a tough paper kitchen towel to clean any glue residue, it works well, then wipe the slightly oily residue of the WD 40 with some isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) on another kitchen towel - or if you can't find any to buy (it's useful to have for cleaning laser lenses or various devices, actual lenses on cameras and other glass parts where you can't have water or water residue) then use a tiny bit of washing up liquid on a cotton bud (or your fingertip) and wipe it off with a thoroughly wrung out cloth or yet another paper towel (so moist, but not dripping with water at all).

Has anyone who bought one tried peeling the sticker off the right hand palm rest? Does it come off easily without making a nasty mess?

I'd rather get a refurb ThinkPad X220 like the one I'm using now. 2nd gen i5 which beats the 4200U for performance, upgradable, excellent keyboard, and basically indestructible. I use it for school work (year 10) and it's much better than this (which is essentially a tablet's components stuffed in a laptop).
The laptop posted will become infuriating to use, honestly. Get something a bit more powerful - I recommend going refurbished. The only thing you'll miss out on is Office, but there is plenty of free alternatives including the Office Mobile apps on the Windows store. Otherwise just spend a bit more and get an i3 laptop for around £250. It'll be worth it in the long run.

What is this office 360 business? So google says it's a subscription service and you get online storage etc.....
But could anyone answer me, if you don't activate/renew this subscription, could I still use Office words and excel like back in the days????
Where the program is installed on your hard disk, you save your work on hard disk, you can open and edit from your hard disk .... I don't need this 360 bs, Dropbox is perfect.

I Agree as a main Computer it would be lacking but it's good as a backup or for someone travelling etc.

This is where Intel's marketing fails. If it's an old i3 it's only an OK deal.
This is the reason absolute dog **** i7 chip laptops are still selling on eBay like crazy.

If you're still hunting for one Dunstable had two left in dark blue / black about 30 minutes ago. X205T not X205TA but it's the same price and I think the same model.

Great information and a refreshing change to see someone who understands the value of the tech.
If you're looking to image the eMMC you may want to try the free version of Macrium Reflect http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx you will have to prepare your Macrium boot device with the 32 Bit version, as this version of the Atom/bios won't run a 64Bit EUFI/boot device.

I bet you gramma is better when you typing on new phone after half bottle of whisky and cant edit the text also you should consider that people in England are the most illiterate in the developed world and are floundering in maths, according to a global ranking:)

This is standard price of these in USA, and they are built to this budget. I've read quite a few reviews saying that the charger breaks and as it is a proprietary fit it is costly to repace and the hdmi is micro size.

I have this machine, along with a host of other much more powerful computers.
Does what I bought it for fine, which is web browsing and watching videos. 2GB of RAM has never been an issue so far. Also for what I paid for it I could've give a crap if I smash it to pieces.

Known issue of Acronis TI not liking 32bit OS on 64 bit hardware and/or UEFI, or similar, and applies to a host of other similarly-spec'd tablets / entry laptops. Macrium works fine, even from USB boot.

Will be fine for £99, reviewed at £180 this review liked it. It's a laptop using a tablet SOC (chipset), but for £99 it's a decent price.
