These used to be branded 'Tesco Everyday Value' - did they seem as appealing then?
They've basically re-badged all their Everyday Value produce with fictitious "farm" names to make it look more upmarket.

I use this to make a soup, so all the things you say, plus butternut squash. 3-4 stock cubes, scotch bonnet, herbs, salt, pepper. I puree to a 'thinish' consistency. Delish!

Drain. Add 300ml cream and a 100g of butter and cayenne pepper.
Mash.
Amazing with almost anything and can be frozen. Used this a lot when weightlifting for veggie tasty meals.
