Rainbow Six Siege is the next installment of the acclaimed first-person shooter franchise developed by the renowned Ubisoft Montreal studio for the new generation of consoles and PC. Inspired by the reality of counter terrorist operatives across the world, Rainbow Six Siege invites players to master the art of destruction. Intense close quarters confrontations, high lethality, tactics, team play, and explosive action are at the center of the experience. The multiplayer gameplay of Rainbow Six Siege sets a new bar for intense firefights and expert strategy in the rich legacy of past Rainbow Six games.

You don't like the FREE DLC model? New map and operators every quarter..
All free.. Maps are free and you use the exp credits to unlock the operators and also weapon skins.
Guess you prefer the Destiny DLC approach..

Complete waffle. 0% logic or sense. You might as well sell your console I wont bother explaining why either.

Except unlockables in multiplayer creates a grinding treadmill that affects balance. It's closest (and more popular) tactical-shooter competitor Counter-Strike does not do this. There is no unlock tree or secondary currency to mess up the balance. It's also what affects balance in CoD and Battlefied, creating a divide between those that play for time rather than play for skill.
So then why is this even implemented? They should have just had those operators unlocked from the get-go to give you a level-playing field. The 'incentive' should be the actual playing of the game not the skinner box-esq grinding nonsense employed by many F2P games. Leave the drops to be only cosmetic (again like Counter-strike).
And I sometimes win games of CS with knife only, doesn't mean I consider that an advantageous position.
Not everyone has that preference, they should make it available from the get-go. Again, see DoTA2 - all 100+ heroes and their perks are available at the start (no grinding or pointless currency to earn) to accommodate all playing styles. Not to mention in games like this, team composition is so important. Every operator has a critical role and ideally should be selected carefully (again like DoTA).
It's not misinformation, it's just basic game balancing. For a balanced/competitive game (which Ubi are trying so hard to push this to be) you don't gate gameplay elements behind grindwalls/pay walls. The teams should be able to have access to all the operators at the start and not pad out the content with time-wasting grinding. The fact that they have shortcuts for real currency is shady F2p BS in a full priced retail game.

To compare this game to BF4 is silly. I'm a huge BF fan but they are very different games.
Saying it's trash is your opinion, and whilst many will agree there are many that will disagree: like myself.
The point of this site is not about reviewing games and more about if it's a deal or not. At this price, it's cheaper than everywhere else as far as I can tell. So as I had said previously, it's hot!

They really need to do this for every shooter game including COD and BF as DLC maps become empty very quickly. They won't because greed.

even if you could it would be as pointless as playing COD or BF for its campaign. Completely pointless. If you aren't going to play multiplayer i'd say dont bother.

I agree - not had any of these issues at all. It's a great tactical shooter. It may not be for everyone as it's not a run and gun game like Cod - a lot more tactics and thought required. I love it probably one of my favourite multiplayer games on Ps4. Great price - heat added.

Amazing game, don't worry about cheaters or laggers, i don't think i've come across any on the ps4, put so much hours into this and will put many more, so so satisfying, £18 is a steal.

This is misleading. It's no different to any game having unlockables to work towards. Beginners can unlock new operators for a tiny amount of points, if you watch the tutorial videos and play for 1-2 hours you'll easily have enough points to unlock 4-5 operators. Unlocking the remaining operators is an added incentive but they are by no means essential. Generally any of them can help win a game, even recruit. I generally only use Thermite, Sledge, Rook, Castle all of which are available within the first few hours of playing.
There's nothing "free-to-play" or "shady" about R6 Siege yet this misinformation has been spread around since launch. It has plenty of content and is a steal at this price. (though unless you pump 100's of hours into it you'll probably want to get the season pass for instant access to the new operators - not because you're disadvantaged by not having them, but because you'll want them as the game is so good).

Um there is a far bigger battlefield 4 community on PS4! Don't know what game modes/maps you were attempting to play as I rarely have a problem.

If the operators did not require grinding for in-game currency and were available to everyone from the start (Again look at DoTA2), then yes it wouldn't be a problem since everyone would be on an even playing field. But that's not what happens, it's closer to how LoL does it (where u grind or buy heroes)...except it's a proper retail game which is pretty shady. You can play well with the defaults in the same way that i can go pistol only - i'm sure there are times where i'd win but i'm still putting myself at a severe disadvantage
All games have bugs for sure, but this game went through multiple 'betas' (or so they stated) and the critical bugs regarding hit detection and object collision (pretty important in a shooter) are still there and can mean the difference between a loss and a win. Report options don't really mean much if they drag their feet on fixing these issues 5 months on.
Again, it's a fantastic game...when it plays well but it wasn't great on launch and it doesn't seem to do enough to sway me off something like CS:GO which feels far more balanced and competitive.

I hate COD. I bought this game and it is absolutely brilliant as you shouldn't rush your opponent. Instead you work together in a small team to outsmart and attack your opponent in a way that they are not expecting.
This is my favourite game!:man:

It used to be good when ranked was more like hardcore. Now it's all casual rubbish and you get stupid indicators everywhere. Grenade gets thrown in the room, no problem your screen will flash and show you exactly where the grenade is. I sold it and will only ever buy back when they make it more hardcore again.

You can only have a TEAM of FIVE operators, each with different skills... (So it's part tactical)
The game can be played perfectly well without ANY NEW Characters..
Adding them at intervals gives seasoned players something NEW to play with and possibly new tactics.
It also gives new players more choice. Tweaks are made to improve gameplay and as new maps and characters are released the players soon complain in some way, so rightly so the dev listens and fixes these. The guns on the new characters last released were decided to be too OP and so in a recent update have been tweaked to balance it out.
I think you would be hard pushed to find any game without some bug or someone saying people lag / glitch / cheat.
This has been looked into and is taken seriously with a report option now included.
(So when the enemy decides for one player to "Glitch" inside a van and be immortal and then kill everyone one the opposing team, you can report the Richard Cranium for it.) I must say 95% of any of the glitches have now gone. So fair play to Ubisoft on this!

Why not have the DLC as a campaign?
Not keen at any price. Rather play COD campaign and online.

It's hands down the most satisfying FPS I've played in a lonnnnng time. Get a decent team with mics (even randoms) and you'll be grinning like a madman.
There may be only a few modes online, but because of the number of varied operators and the destructibility of the maps, no two rounds ever feel the same.

If the DLC was all cosemetic sure, but the new Operators (gameplay affecting) are time-delayed and are walled behind an in-game currency grind. They should have followed the Counter-Strike/DoTA2 model.
Anyways gameplay wise, this game is very good, shame the value package wasn't so great at release. Under £20 seems about right but it still has many issues that should have been addressed during the supposed betas (aka demos).

Depends how much you're into online fps games as this does not have any single player campaign. I haven't played the final release but did play the 4 weeks before release "Beta" and that seemed alright, some dumb gimmicks like (mostly) destructible walls and classes which were fun, however like most online your mileage will vary depending if you have friends you can play with.
