Brilliant game. I got the regular edition as a gift but haven't purchased any content. Will trade it in at CEX for £15, then this has cost me £15 rather than £25 to download the extra content

awesome reply thanks, I have forza 6 and I totally agree with everything you have pointed out. It also suffers hugely from corner cutting where no penalty is issued. I will check out this game.

If you want a racing experience then this without any question whatsoever. Forza flatters to deceive as usual and as technically good as it might be, it has huge disappointments that completely ruin the game. It's typical Forza, hooks you for a bit and then bores beyond belief.
The main issue with Forza is there's absolutely no Championship structure making the whole experience flat. It refers to championships, but they aren't. There is no points system with totals carrying over from one race to the next, as is the case with "a Championship", instead every race becomes an isolated individual event with no meaning. Also you simply have to finish in the top 3 to progress....What's the point??!
Would be infinitely better to simply have championships race to race where you can build proper tension / satisfaction as it progresses. Maybe you'll stack out and miss out on the points but then move on to the next race and recover in the title race. .That's how any race game should be, but not Forza. The whole experience suffers for it and that's what stops me bothering with it anymore.
Also the rain is fixed, not dynamic, and only on a few tracks, same for night racing. In Project Cars the weather is fully dynamic, and the day night cycle works across the board. With increased time lapse you can be racing the same race but as the sun sets the laps feel a lot different due to glare and visibility etc from first to last. Also having a race start dry, then start to rain before really coming down heavy offers a racing experience so superior to Forza it's not even close.
Then there's qualifying in PC... this can be a game in itself needing to nail a clean lap before the session ends to get a decent grid position. It works brilliantly and is very addictive in it's own right..... In Forza... oh yeah, you always start in the middle of the pack....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Basically yes, there are so many media outlets (from magazines/major websites down to bloggers and Youtubers) handing out GOTY awards now that it becomes a bit pointless, look on the back of the Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY "Winner of over 130 Game of the Year Awards".

It is a great sim and very realistic, but that doesn't stop it from being a boring game to play. There's little to keep you playing other than your own improvement at the various car classes, but I guess everyone is different. I'm an avid motor racing fan but I didn't play this very long at all.

I found that to be my experience of this game to be honest, a snake of cars following the same line, irrespective of where the opposition was. I know exactly what you are saying, read GT5 etc, but I didn't find this that different in all honesty. Even on harder difficulties I expected the AI to be better.

I think you're being a little harsh on the AI. Yes they'll predominantly stick to the racing line more often than not, because that's the correct thing to do, and this is a sim after all. However, when in the thick of it they hustle and fight for places as you'd want them to and can be aggressive when doing so. Some games where cars stick to the racing line like a snake it's just like a procession and nothing ever deviates.

Sorry I don't have a wheel and can appreciate it is better that way. I wanted to get into it, but didn't enjoy it.....I wouldn't say laughable, the AI rigidly sticks to the racing line.

I'd have thought BORE of the year would be more appropriate. I managed to complete career mode in this, but found it to be dull and not very challenging. Poor AI.

Laughable to suggest it has poor AI, especially when compared to other games. Also it offers a sublime racing experience and with a wheel is superb.

great price. Ordered for 30 pounds yesterday. Now the game has been updated with all the extra content it's a no brainer for racing sim fans, especially if you have a wheel.
