The price of £7.94 includes;
- £6.95 Frame
- 1.57 CR Single Vision Lenses
- Full UV protection
- Anti Scratch Coating

I bought 2 pairs 1 for reading the other for driving, both of them were not the correct prescription I was getting headaches and tired eyes and went to optician who did my eye test she told me the glasses were not just a bit out but way off the prescription as I have a couple of weak sight spots and the glasses I had been sent were actually making that worse. If it hadn't been for the headaches I would have kept using the glasses as they didn't seem to be so bad.
I contacted Goggles4U and they said they would replace them, the replacements were actually worse then the first ones and it took weeks of e-mails to get my money back.

I bought 2 pairs - the arm with part of the lens came off after less than 6 months and G4U refused a refund. The arm came off the 2nd pair as well. Poor quality and the Company, which is American owned, do not respect UK/EU consumer laws. You have been warned!

I love Goggles4U (wearing a pair from there today that was more expensive on Zenni Optical) but I was put off them with my last purchase. I always ordered Brown tint sunglasses and they sent orange/amber coloured lenses! I've ordered Brown before and they were exactly that.
Complained, they sent a replacement (again, brown lenses) only for them to send amber lenses. Not sure if they've changed factories in the last few years but I wasn't very happy.

I had the same problem,lenses were quite orange, not brown! Couldn't wear them, they'd have given me a right headache! Was given a replacement , chose different frames and black lenses, they seem to be better. Would use the company again, but wouldn't order brown sunnies again.

Get what you pay for! They're OK for spares, or occasional wear. Been using them years.

I've bought loads from Goggles4U..it was only the recent problem with the sunglass tint that bothered me.
You have to wade through the website to find decent frames, but I have seen similar ones on Zenni (can't speak for the current collection, though, haven't had a good scour for a while). The ones I'm wearing are spring hinge frames.
As you can see, I've commented about Goggles4U quite a lot. Overall my experience has been positive, prescription wise and frames wise (though one pair had the nose pads come off - but I must have bought about 15+ pairs from there over the years).

Are there any online prescription glasses retailers that are actually any good? I need a new pair of primary glasses but would love to not have to pay the rip off high street prices. Last 2 deals I've seen both have had a lot of criticisms.

For those wondering why precriptions glasses are so expensive even though they are just literally pieces of glass and plastic, the market is dominated by ONE Italian company who makes the majority of glasses including the designer ones.
I've used this company and another internet one for specs and they have been OK.
But the £15 glasses from Tesco are better quality so I use them now.

Bought some of these in one of their 2 for £15 promos and both pairs were perfectly fine. Yes they were cheap and plasticky, but that's because I paid £7.50 per pair :smile:
I previously had a pair of £10 glasses from Tesco, which were great, apart from the fact they broke after a month...as did both replacement pairs, but again...£10 for a pair of specs! Tesco don't sell that particular frame anymore :smile:

I normally use Specsavers, but I was annoyed by the price quoted for mid range varifocals so I shopped around and ended up going to Asda, £40 for sprung arm anti scratch coated varifocals, be ready in 2 weeks, I will repost when I have them.

This comment is also on the first page but not in full view and I think people should be aware of what they might be getting;

It's only people that think you should only pay £5 for a pair of specs that think that high street prices are rip off. If you value your eye sight go see an optician and get the right prescription set in frames that are set up properly and your lens is set up in the correct alignment.
Whilst glasses frames can be a vanity thing, decent quality frames can be had at a reasonable price for the service you are being offered. I follow these cheap glasses threads because they entertain me with the general publics high expectations from the rubbish product and service offered by the purveyors of these low rent products

If you read the article properly and understood it you will realise the article was talking about designer glasses and not prescription glasses and I have seen a recent program about this company also and it was only about branded designer glasses that go into posh shops etc. no mention of them making frames for Specsavers etc..

Thanks to the cheap internet market taking a huge chunk out of their profits the high street prices have become a lot more reasonable in recent years IMO. Sure you will still spend a small fortune for the designer pairs but you don't have to settle for ugly, old fashioned rims or pay through the roof.
Stylish enough and only £25. Sure, three times more than this deal but I agree with those that said when it comes to your vision you really shouldn't by skimpy, especially when it's not something you can check yourself if what you've got it correct.

I have just picked up 2 pairs from Asda yesterday and must admit I'm really impressed with both the quality and price. I opted for the 2 pairs for £99 and got a pair of varifocal specs and a pair of varifocal sunglasses. They both have anti glare coating, scratch resistance coating and the most important thing for me, the lenses are really thin! Wearing the specs at the moment and would definitely recommend.

Good to hear about Asda varifocals. I'll try them. I bought a pair from Specsavers last month, frames £69 but with lenses they cost £272. On collection I couldn't see through them was told to persevere, after struggling and getting the lenses checked and changed twice I gave up and got a refund. Makes me wary about ordering varifocals online but they couldn't be worse than my local Specsavers.

I had a similar experience with Specsavers about 2 years ago. I paid extra for their premium varifocals and couldn't see properly. I was made to feel as if I was the problem and eventually got a refund too.
The Asda optician I saw was great, really took her time when testing my eyes. Both pairs of glasses were ready to collect in 10 days and I got a text to inform me. Cracking service!
