There's still a lot of people who own those consoles and without these games there's no reason for them to have PS+. It's not like dropping those and focusing only on offering PS4 games would increase the quality of games we receive anyway.

Pretty much with the PS3 and Vita games on offer there's no reason for them to have PS+ except to play their past PS+ games.

So glad I have both PS4 and Xbox one, the free games are way better you receive on Xbox..

It's still the only reason for those console owners to have PS+ though (apart from playing previous PS+ games) so there's no point in them only offering PS4 games on +. Again, it's not going to change anything else so there's really no point in not offering games for all consoles.

Amazed by line up. Will be taking switch Galaxy ultra and table top racing on ps4, shame I just bought Trackmania turbo today for some new racing. PS3 offering could have been better won't be getting any of those offered.

Still a good selection but it appears Sony are just going through the PS3 archives with their 'LocoRoco Cocoreccho!' offering - released in 2007 and is good for a few hours play through.

Own all 3 consoles and not excited by this month at all. Still worth the subscription costs for all I get, but doubt I will download and play any of these games tbh. With my backlog of games, I would be happier having games every 3 months (1 or 2 ps4, 1 or 2 ps3, and 1 or 2 vita titles), but having better quality titles. Put our PS+ budget into quarters to make Sony able to offer more money to developers for bigger/more recent titles - personally I would get more value that way.

Correct you will need to purchase plus to allow them to play PvZ Garden Warfare 2 online. This is an extremely well known fact that for any game to be played online either on PS4 or X1 you need to purchase a subscription (PS+ or Xbox Live Gold).

A few minutes research would have told you this, as well as giving you an idea of how much the games will cost. Complaining about something you could have easily discovered before purchase is likely to produce a high sarcastic reply from some people, as they see it as your fault for not doing your research first.

I'm really happy with Tropico alone. I've nearly bought that on several occasions. Heat.

Only reason they are still giving free games on Vita and PS3 is so they have a excuse for the awful games so they can use the quantity over quality argument.

Watchdogs was a rumour from a random person, not Sony.

And removing PS3/Vita games really won't increase the quality of PS4 games we get. If they removed games for the Vita/PS3 I'm sure you'd also be criticising them for cutting off a big portion of their players.

I sold both my PS3 and Vita years ago. No point owning three PS systems when most Vita and PS3 games are getting remastered on PS4. Thats all PS4 has, indies and remasters.

Yes I have all three and haven't even bothered downloading the PS3 and Vita offerings for a while, the PS3 offerings recently have been ridiculously bad which does make you wonder why they even bother. Only seem to still include them to avoid complaints about them being removed.

Another month of saved hard drive space. Sure might be better than gwg this month but I would still give the overall crown to gwg in recent times. Last gen ps3 ps plus stomped both xb1 and ps4 put together.

I just want a few PS3 remasters like Saints Row 4 and The last of us.

I have played Table Top Racing, it's loads of fun! In a Micro Machines, Mario Karty kind of a way. Easily the best thing going this month. This is a rough approximation of how I feel:

if i get a ps plus trial and download the ps vita games. can i continue to use the ps plus games i have download even after i finish the trial as long as i dont delete the game? just dont need ps plus really because i use an xbox one and a ps vita

To the people moaning about watch dogs, it's like £5 second hand, if you are that bothered go and buy it! It's actually very good and well worth the price.

i paid 45 quid for Tropico relatively recently. the highest value game I've seen on PS+. A good proper game, although I've actually put more hours and had more enjoyment from the previous freebie 'Grow Home'. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not interested in 3 got 1 and 2 are keepers. Table top racing has saved it for me as I would of been happy to pay a tenner for that anyway

Always find the Playstation Plus ps4 games a little lame or poor. I hope these don't disappoint.

I think the OP is referring to the fact online gaming (COD) was free on PS3 but now PS Network costs money same as X Box Live.

meh, nothing intresting here..... switch looks like a bad version of audiosurf and if tropico 5 is anything like 4 then in a few months the pc version will be in every bundle/discount site either free or for around £1.... rocket league was to only good game imo....hardly worth the £40 ps+ price though.... sigh....what a waste.....if only it wasn't required for online....

Finally a better month than Games with Gold

Gaming is peer-to-peer on both PSN and XBL now. If this was such a costly enterprise there wouldn't be free online multi-player on PC or Wii U. The money garnered from XBL Gold and PS+ is used to sweeten the pot for third-party developers to offer exclusives (timed or full).

It's no coincidence that the general quality of monthly games has fallen on PS+ since Sony have gotten timed-exclusives on CoD & Battlefront maps whereas the reverse has happened on Xbox Live Gold. Since Microsoft have lost these exclusives they've been able to use the freed up money to offer better monthly games.

Seeing as it was only released a year ago today I doubt that :P

When ps plus started all you got was 1 indie game a month for the ps3, discounts and themes. No one complained back then. Remember it's only £3.33 a month so if you have all 3 machines it's 55p a game.
It was great when they started giving proper games away but I suppose it's expected now. We probably will get retail games but when they are few years old.

Ummm yes I do think that when I'm paying 45 quits for a game to play on a 300 console there should be no further charge to play online. That is not my definition of free nor good value. Ps plus was a canny move by Sony, PS3 game had to be good there was no compeling reason to buy otherwise, now Sony has you by the balls there is no compeling reason to offer quality games as has clearly been seen. I bought the ps4 for my son but pretty disappointed with it so far, hasn't lived up to expectation.

Nice to see a good list of games again, however none of them interest me this month :disappointed:

Buy Uncharted 4 when that comes out. And if you didn't play The Last of Us last gen, pick that up as well :smiley:

A much better offering than what Watch Dogs would have been for me. Tropico is interesting. Already have Ghost of Sparta. Rest are very meh.

Actually looking forward to playing Tropico, haven't played that type of game for a looooooong time. I have always seen the Tropicos around but like the FIFA series, it never seems worth buying as they are worth next to nothing quite quickly so never bought any.
The racing game looks cool too, kinda looks like a cross between Micro Machines and Mario Kart.

At last some decent looking games. As owner of Vita, PS3 and 4 PS+ has been a joke for about 6 months to the extent I haven't even bothered to download one title. At least 3 of these really appeal to me....I'm old enough to remember the original bionic commando!

Same. One of the reasons I moved for Xbox (which i preferred game and controller wise) to PS3 was I was sick of paying £30-40 a year to play online. Worked well for about 3 years until next gen. I actually didn't mind as much as Sony were very clever in releasing some pretty good PS Vita and PS3 titles on PS+ for a year to placate people like us. They have stopped that now as PS+ has been rubbish for 6 months. I have also started refusing to buy any DLC (after buying season pass for COD and Batman games) as each new release is coming with less built into the game and the price of DLC is a joke!

Good line up, was aware of Tropico name but looks fun with good reviews.

Owning PS4 and Vita, this is a good month.

Regarding the Vita, there's a really strong set of games for it if you go back through the catalogue, and the new release Severed is just awesome. The Vita is better supported in the US however.

Time to sell Tropico 5 disc whilst it's still worth something :smiley:

Only the division and ordered pvz2 for my son but that is going to set me back 80 since will need ps+ to play it properly hence my slight distaste. People berate about wii u but the value is much better there.

But with the Wii U you are sacrificing a lot in third party games and basic console uses that are the norm on PS4/XB1 now.

Hopefully the NX will bring Nintendo in to the current climate.

How do I get these games for free? I've been paying a monthly subscription for them like I thought everyone else was doing! Silly me...

I've owned every Sony console apart from the PS4.
As yet, there are very few decent non-ported-from-PS3 games that make the PS4 worthy of purchase.

They will come! I have no doubt, but until they do, the PS3 is a superb console with a massive back catalogue for exploring, so there is no rush as far as I and people like me are concerned.

I personally think there must be a ton of PS4 owners who feel they bought the console too soon.

Games are still being developed for the Vita (did you mean PSP?) it's a great platform, especially if you own a PS4... I'd highly recommend you also invest in a Vita if that's the case. The PS3 games are a welcome addition to the free bonus games for both PS4 gamers (with a PS3) and those who only own a PS3. Remember, the Plus membership is for everyone, not just those who own a PS4, so it makes absolute sense that PS3 games are included.

Make sure you go on the PS Store and "purchase" them from the PSPlus members area once they're available to download every month. They'll then appear in your download list / transaction management associated with your PSN account and you'll be able to download them at any time. The best way is to do it through a browser on your computer then you can access the full list of games for all platforms in one go (even if you don't have a Vita or PS4 now, you can "purchase" them for later access should you buy that console at a later date). Otherwise you'll only get to download the games specific to the console you're accessing the store through and might miss out of a couple of freebies :-) remember it doesn't matter if you're not interested in the game, just make sure you put them all through check out each month and you can build your collection up for nothing :-)

Tip for you - even if you're only on PS3 at the moment, don't forget to add the monthly PS4 games to your cart and by the time you get a PS4 you'll have a nice big collection to start with. You have to do it through your computer browser as they won't appear on the PS3 store. Same for the Vita games :-)

The older games I mentioned are worth checking out. They are all less than £20 now and you'll get hours of decent gameplay from all of them :smiley:

I know what you mean about the Wii U, but for the price of a pint (or less) every month, PS Plus is worth having I would say.

For anyone upset about the Watch_Dogs rumour... just grab the game for around £5-£6 at CeX or online... put over 30 hours in and really enjoyed it so can't go wrong at that price.

There hasn't been any official offers on Playstation Plus for existing subscribers since the PS4 was released and it was mandatory for online play, there used to be offers a few times a year on PS3 like 15 months for the price of 12. I've not seen it drop below £30 on key selling sites either. You can't get it for much of a discount of the £40 RRP unfortunately, I've bought Xbox Live Gold for under £20 in the past but that never happens with PS+ :disappointed:

I bought the PS4 on release day and never regretted it. Whilst I agree with you that there are very few exclusive games that would make it worth purchasing it for it is fantastic for cross platform and cross generation games. The PS3/Xbox 360 generation was unusually long so significant compromises had to be made later on like sub HD graphics (upscaled to HD) and low frame rates (sub 30 fps). There is a significant improvement in the graphics with much higher resolution, fancier effects and better frame rates.

If you aren't bothered about having better graphics and/or better frame rates then PS3 is good (especially if you are still making your way through games backlog). I on the other hand want to experience the games at their full potential, with the stuff the developers would like to do but simply can't on PS3/Xbox 360.

We still get to play the same game, and I'm more than happy to pay to experience fancier graphics and better frame rates, considering the amount of time I spend playing games to me that is money well spent. The PS4 is just about unique in that is selling in crazy numbers despite not having any exclusive games or unique selling points that would drive a purchase. A lot of people are buying them just so they can run games they could run on other consoles better, as the PS4 in most cases runs games the best that are available on multiple consoles, and is selling like hot cakes mostly just down to that.

this is why i hate ps plus....... i always hear 'server maintenance ****'..... but its simply not true... almost all games are player hosted... only mmos use servers and they are paid for by microtranactions.... its simply blackmail.... give us money or play alone.... the 'free' games aren't worth it in my opinion(subscribed almost a year ago, downloaded all but only played rocket league for more than 5 mins).... pc is the future... now to convince my friends of that...

alternately you can play in 4k on a pc(if you spend enough money, 1080p if you dont)....and guess what...when you want to upgrade...all your games come with...

I've built PCs since I was a kid, and spent lots of money building and upgrading gaming PC over the years and playing in lovely 1440P and bought consoles for the console exclusive games. Once I got the PS4 however I didn't upgrade it as I mostly played on the PS4 as it was more convenient, and playing at 1080P on a 50" screen rather than 1440P on a 27" screen just suited me better. There didn't seem much difference in the graphics, generally PS4 being equivalent to medium/high on PC just at 30 fps rather than 60 fps.

With the PS 4.5 (Neo) coming out possibly around October with double the power of the PS4 I'll probably just buy that rather than upgrading my PC.

Agreed. Have a ps4 n vita n my ps3 broke recently. Bought another to replace as have a tonne of quality games to still play through.

I have tropico 5 on disc but if I did not and got it for free I would be quite happy. This is a solid month, heat added.

Guacameleeeee was a brilliant game. At first i played it i thought it was another one of those throwaway 2D games. i then gave it another chance around summer and it just clicked and loved every second of its metroidvania gameplay and probably played around 20-30 hours until i 100% the game. The definition of a hidden gem.

You really should. Its an absolute classic and up there with the best ps plus games they have given on PS4.

I only upgraded to PS4 because I gave the PS3 to my kids. The truth is; PS3 is still an amazing gaming platform. I imagine it will be right up until 2019/2020.

The only thing that will dislodge it is fifth generation console gaming.

What utter rubbish. Most people have moved to PS4 and the other PS3s are either broken or sold to pawn shops and the people who still play on them don't even buy any new games from them and just living off their old games, game sharing or shared ps plus accounts

Tropico is a great game and the missus loves that kind of game so its a big thumbs up from me, tho I can foresee a problem when Uncharted comes out and she wants to play Tropico..... I will let you know who wins..... :smiley:)
