I have the original WeGo, great bit of kit

I dj'd for years with turntables but succumbed a few years ago to midi mixers ha ha

This one is really designed with iPad in mind rather than laptop. Cannot imagine using your phone though, way too small a screen. Nice bit of kit, I'm in the market for one but am heading more to the pioneer SB2. Quite a few options in the 200 mark.

This is a Pioneer one. And one of the things addressed with this is its look in comparison to earlier models, aluminium faceplate adding to its finese. Admittedly it is at the beginner end of the market, but personally I do not think it looks like a toy.

Yes it has a slot and connector for use with an ipad, but it is just as comfortable in use whether it be with an android tablet or laptop. Maybe take a look instead at the Pioneer DDJ SB2 within the same price range.

I was also there a couple of days ago but sadly never got to check out the Pioneer stand, the time flew by (likely not helped by sampling beers from the Brewie stand and driving a Tesla - not in that order!). Looks like a nice bit if kit though for the money.

We arrived at just around 9:10, immediately queued at the Samsung stand for the VR which still took 40 minutes to get to the front and stayed the full day until 6 and like yourself found the day went immensely quickly. Did go for a test ride in the Tesla S2 right at the end of the day when there was minimal queues (not a test drive though).

Really enjoyed our day, it was our 4th time at The Gadget Show and I have heard bad things about how things have been cut back but I think it was to its advantage...would have been nice to have had stands with more freebies...but with less people, and less stands we found we were less bamboozled and able to enjoy our day far more and take in the days events...somehow missed the Brewie stand ourselves...damn!

Didn't get to try Nvidia's or Samsung's VR glasses sadly :disappointed: apparently had to make an appointment. Fortunately I'd got the Tesla test drive pre booked before going. That was the highlight for me - driving around the nearby roads in Birmingham ....as a passenger mostly while the car drove autonomously via autopilot :smiley: . Got to love these Teslas :smiley:

They had the Samsung Gear VR on throughout the morning, noticed later in the day the stand was empty for some weird reason, no appointments. Talking to the guys in the Tesla area they said you can book a test drive any time at their Digbeth branch or at any of the others in the country :smiley: Really impressive car, amazed by the proprietary Unix based software screen kit and free 4G connection as well.

Tried out the Private Eye game demo at the Firefly VR stand, nice to actually try out a game in progress..had the demo of Dolby Atmos in the Superfi wooden built theatre, impressive setup for a rig built in a couple of days but a bit underwhelmed with the majority of demo material to be honest in the actual benefits over standard surround all things considering.

Yes it's a very well implemented system in the Model S - unlike my current motor. I kept pushing the guy, who I had accompany me on the demo, to admit there was a catch with the 3G/4G connectivity - apparently there isn't one. You can consume all the data you want while streaming spotify or similar plus browsing the web, navigating via Google Maps etc and it's all free just like the use of their SuperCharger network - impressive!.

I could've really done with testing out VR as I'm not yet sold on the idea but having not had experience of it I'm open to see what it can do. Also missed out on that Dolby Atmos theatre too :disappointed: ...god knows where that time went!....I blame the Brewie :stuck_out_tongue:

We rocked up the the Nvidia stand with a n 11yrd old & 12yr old in tow....didn't realize we were meant to book...spoke to the somewhat stern front desk lassie....she said "no sorry, no slots left"....at which point one of the (foxy) girls lfrom the booth interjected & said "c'mon, you can have a quick go ...you're really lucky becuase the queue was 1.5hrs earlier today" ....the experience was "sick" apparently (according to my lads)

highly recommend this mixer, I use Serato DJ and it's great with a macbook also DJ'd from spotify from my iPhone 6plus with this and it went flawless apart from iphone screen being a tad small.
Can't recommend it highly enough you soon learn how to use it and it's really solid and with the Pioneer professional feel - got a nice black one from BAX for 199 never had a problem with the seller.

Can this play my old 78's?

I've had a play on one of the version 2's and they are very good for the price. The thrown in Pioneer software isn't the best, Serato is OK but it's the cut down version. I used it with Traktor Pro which is much much better if you can get a copy.

I think this will be handy for those wanting to work off a tablet but if you're using a laptop there are many better value beginner's decks about.

I wish I wouldn't of seen this... I'm so tempted. I used to DJ when I was younger until I sold it because my parents always complained about the noise. This could be just what I need to be a bedroom DJ once more haha! :sunglasses:

Mixtrack Pro II is around £70 second hand now and is a great controller, works with all the major software and is easy to use. Personally having used Traktor and Virtual DJ I love VDJ. Didn't like serato but only tried it on friends' setups. VDJ is £70 extra for a legit copy and worth every penny if you're going to enjoy mixing.

Not sure about the value of the deal but customer service can be poor. Had ordered an item showing as in stock only to be told it was no longer available. A sales rep then offered an "alternative" and asked if i wanted to change my order, on further inspection the "alternative" was 3 times the price and poor substitute for what I actually ordered! Funnily enough I said thanks but no thanks....I did find it odd that the price of the "alternative" wasn't alluded to when I was offered it as a replacement, seems like a tricky way to get more cash out of you.....
