A lot of people here didn't like it and returned it. I can see many 'refurbs' coming up on Ebay soon

At this price, should be pleased it's 4K and a good brand. I wouldn't buy a TV with SMART technology.
I would rather add a separate box that provides Smart technology and much more (Fire TV, Roku, TiVo etc...)

I bought the 49 over christmas in a simlar offer, at first I had the HDMI issues (TV showing no imput on any channel after a while) but than I checked online and it was a bug that have been solved by a sw update. In the last 4 months it idi not happen again so I am happy.
Picture is nice, sound suprisingly good for the price, settings are good. HDCP is there and it is NOT smart. But that is a big + for me.

Likewise, a lack of smart features isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it constrains you to the apps the manufacturer supports, whereas I'd rather supply my own smart and know it has the apps I want.
I wouldn't be adverse to them getting rid of speakers too and making it more like a giant monitor, as my sound is dealt with by a receiver and I never use my tv's speakers.

This tv price has been yo-yoing with price promotions and vouchers at Argos since Christmas. Is it the lowest it's got or been about the same?

I've seen it go down to £404

Blurry image, it's not great at stretching the 1080p image.
Better waiting for some actual 4k content before purchasing.

Bad picture quality, blacks are just deep grey, if you're lucky, sometimes they're dark green!

SD input looks absolutely shocking on these things. Took mine back

I never really understand this scaling thing. Surely a native 1080p image on a 4K screen should be pretty much perfect should it not? My understanding (although admittedly could be wrong) is that what was 1 pixel on a 1080p screen is now 4 pixels on a 4K screen (arranged in a 2x2 square so to speak). I dont see why this should lead to a blurry image in that case. Why does this happen? I could understand scaling from an image that doesn't work mathematically, but why would 1080p to 4K be a problem?

I wouldnt buy any 4k unless it has 2.0 hdmi slots as the 4k bluray players need this standard and possibly HDR. Phillips used to be a good brand but are going the same way as JVC. Stick to SONY or LG , Samsung has the clowding issue and these new hisense ones seem to offer a lot for the money but appear to be cheap components and panels.

This has HDMI 2.0 (even though I think you really refer to HDCP2.2, which many early 4k sets were missing), and HDR is unlikely with any TV even remotely close to this price range.
Philips TV's aren't made by Philips and haven't been for some time, though they're not made by Vestel either - TPV bought them (AKA AOC the huge computer monitor company).
HiSense are a huge electronics company (that unfortunately has a cheap sounding name), but are a respectable brand and one of the biggest Asian electronics companies that has until now had little penetration in the UK/EU market. Just because their TV's are cheaper than most doesn't mean they aren't at least a midrange quality and huge value.

Guys by reading all these comments seriously I'm shocked. I'm using this TV from last 7 months had no issues. blacks are fine and also 4k content works fine with 4k players. also no lag as I play PS4 a lot.

I bought this set (43 Inch) on Friday and I have to say that I am really pleased with it. Brilliant picture and connected to my Sony Soundbar, also sounds superb. I have connected Sky Q and Humax Freesat to it and all looks great. Don't be put off by these other comments. I know we all see things differently but for the money, this set is superb!

According to the TV user guide the refresh rate for video at 1080p is only 25 Hz?!

This TV arrived today. Pic is okayish in HD, not so good upscaling SD.
Main quibble - annoyingly intrusive buzzing noise when listening to TV via headphones. I always listen to my TV via headphones to avoid annoying my neighbours. Have tried plugging in several different pairs of headphones but the buzzing is always there. Had no problems on my old TV.
Anyone else have this problem with the TV? (I have the 43" version.)
