Sealed against the Elements
The K50 18-55mm kit is both weather resistant and dustproof and can withstand -10°C of cold as well. It uses a total of 81 seals to keep moisture and dust out.

16MP Stabilised CMOS Sensor
The CMOS sensor is designed to perform well in low light and it is coupled with the PRIME M processor which is the same chip used for top of the range models. The result is crisp, detailed images and an ISO sensitivity range of up to 51,200.

In-camera Shake Reduction
The Shake Reduction mechanism (image stabiliser) is mounted in the camera rather than the lens, which means you can use with just about any Pentax lens, manual or autofocus and make the most of the feature(compatibility of other features will vary with age and series of lens). As the sensor can move in any direction it enables features such as Horizon Correction, Compositional Adjustment and Astro-Tracer for simple astrophotography when used with the optional O-GPS1 GPS unit.

Fast Operation
For those fleeting bursts of action, the K 50 has a continuous shooting feature with a frame rate of up to 6frames per second in JPEG format.

Intelligent and Intuitive Focusing
The Pentax K-30 uses a state-of the-art SAFOX IXi+ AF module with 11 focus sensors including nine cross-type in the centre of the frame. There is an AF tracking feature which can even use distance information from neighbouring sensors to follow a subject when it moves a little out of the tracking area.

Full HD Movies
Movies can be recorded in Full HD quality (1920 x 1080 resolution in H.264 format). You can also choose a frame rate of 30, 25, or 24fps, depending on whether you are shooting fast-moving action or desire a more cinematic look and feel. There is also interval movie recording for a time-lapse type of effect.

Digital Filters and Custom Images including Bleach Bypass for a dramatic effect in movies, and Cross-Process for slightly out-of-the-ordinary colours. More than one digital filter can also be applied to an image.
