Some great reviews out there, only edged for image quality by the Fujifilm X-E1 apparently, which was ~£300 more at the time though.
This was given 9/10 for value when it was reviewed at £899

Am in the market for one of these but am liking the Sony A5100 for the same price. Can't decide whether the image stabilisation on this makes up for the smaller sensor. Anyone had both?

The micro four thirds system also has a lot more lenses available, many of which are wallet friendly. Sony is choosing to focus on its full frame offerings at the moment, meaning the e mount system isn't receiving a s lot of love at the moment. As a gx7 owner, I'd say this is the better value option at the moment, certain in terms of the overall shooting experience, which is equally as important as IQ

The Sony has better image quality but perhaps only noticeably better in low light. The GX7 is a great camera though. I wonder what deals are available on the Sony A6000 now that the A6300 is out?

Bought one of these to replace a Nikon D7000 which was not getting used due to the size and have to say so far am really impressed.
Great image quality, solidly built, lots of features.
Only problem I've had is the wifi connectivity is tricky to set up.

Also just to add to that, the physical size of the lenses for micro 4/3 are significantly smaller than lenses for larger APS-C sensors like in the Sony or other DSLRs, so if you are looking for something more compact then micro 4/3 is a great option.

thats not really always true, depends on the lens - see here eg http://j.mp/1RWGex1
for 'general use' its actually bigger
expanding with the value zoom gives a smaller overall camera but neither is small (the sony feels very well balanced with that lens also)
sure you have eg pancake 20/1.7 but thats not the norm
all depends how you want to use it and how much you want to spend etc
I will second that, but if like me you also have adaptors for Nikon and Canon lens you can use them on this camera which i think is great and the distance the lens operate at is 2x the usual distance.

more like a third seeing as you are talking about asp-c use but yeah effectively twice the stated vs 35mm cams

using them is easy but taking a decent pic harder
all else fails auto mode is there for a reason!
but aperture priority mode is fine for much of the time and its not hard either

GX7 adds a viewfinder. Sensor shift image stabilisation, faster shutter speed, support for an external flash, continuous autofocus when recording movies, more manual controls (two thumb wheels), focus peaking and a better standard lens.

Got it and liking it so far. Just in auto mode with the kit lens so far but taking nice pictures. Will be after a case next, can't believe you can buy £80 cases for these!
