Ok getting weary folks "Refurbished" usually looked at by a £7.50 PH Screener not an engineer ,,,,,,,,,appears to work great, clean it new batteries in remote and box it up again either original box or plain brown. Ex display will have clocked up more than 7500 hours ex customer may be marked full of dust and gunk and any age. There is no Service organisation in this country that can work to Manuafacturers Standards.take a look at the boards in the back of the sets . UK engineer with a soldering iron dont kid yourselves. Engineers if they do get to look at one are merely to confirm faults to allow the company to get back to manuafacturer for full or partial credit. Engineers time is costly and they are not trained enough. If its second hand which it is forget the term refurbished its being sold because they cannot get money back from the supplier because it is a bought out guarantee, out of warranty or simply their cock up or unauthorised refund/exchange. Ask them to put Service mode on the screen that will tell you exactly how many hours it has been used unless it says zero hours and that will tell you that they have a code to reset it. Service mode can be accessed through any handset for any model within two minutes. Wait until you hear the reasons they will give why they cannot go into service modes. Google or youtube most service mode set ups. If its refurb its second hand and should be minimum 50% off or tell them to keep it.Ok getting weary folks "Refurbished" usually looked at by a £7.50 PH Screener not an engineer ,,,,,,,,,appears to work great, clean it new batteries in remote and box it up again either original box or plain brown. I pay £250 for a refurbished 40cx400b which they are selling in Tesco at the moment for above £400. I would say not to buy this if this is your main TV. I would say that most refurbs are going to be returns due to the bad motion blur and not because they are faulty. Netflix in 4K and also YouTube works no problem wirelessly and the picture is good if there isn't anything fast moving. Also avoid if you are going to use for games as the input lag will make it feel like your not controlling it. I hope this helps

Depends whether you believe Which? or not. They say:
Should I buy it?
No. You may be tempted by the affordable price for such a big screen, premium-looking TV, but you'll regret the purchase when you get it home and switch it on.
That's Vestel for you.

I always take the phrase 'refurbished and checked to manufacturers specification' or words to that effect with a huge pinch of salt. I suspect most are checked briefly by fairly unskilled low paid workers - plug it in and perform factory reset then spend a minute or two checking it does the basics. Then rebox.
I've bought the odd refurbished items over the years and they've clearly not been checked at all.
Of course some refurbs are to brand new spec and quality.... depends who/what and where.

you are guessing, they could be also repaired which is highly likely seeing as these are cheap Vestel tv's
It also states there could be marks or scratches and non original accessories , £50 saving isn't worth it IMO

The website says that the definition of manufacturer refurbished as''Manufacturer refurbished
An item that has been professionally restored to working order by a manufacturer-approved vendor. This means the product has been inspected, cleaned and repaired to meet manufacturer specifications and is in excellent condition. This item may or may not be in its original packaging''

Argos and Tesco refurbbs can be shocking. Not worth the hassle to save £50.
Better still don't buy junk TVs to start with.

Altho it has expired and sold out but just saying its been much cheaper in the past
Thanks. I assume we all know these generic facts about a refurbished product and there is nothing new. It is an individual choice to buy or not to buy and that is why I just posted here for those who think that it is worth taking a punt for a lower price. Thanks for your constructive comments any way.

I have to suggest that there is a lot of difference between a manufacture refurb and secondhand product. We can see that refurb/customer return products are sold at an impressive margin all over, especially after online sales has picked up in the past few years. This can be seen in a wide range of products in a wide range of websites including Amazon.
