I don't think you should worry. There could be a higher risk of side effects if it's taken daily long term which tends to mean several months if not years but this is tends to be the case with most medicines. Taking it every day for a few weeks is unlikely to be an issue. If you have any concerns, ask your pharmacist.
Also buy the generic/own brand stuff, does the exact same job but works out much cheaper unless you're lucky enough to find it at this price.

FTOdude - I'm also drinking this stuff and calpol at the moment (had throat surgery 6 days ago) and the best price I've found is the asda/Sainsburys own brand. They're about £1.70 a 100ml bottle - the composition is exactly the same with slightly different flavouring but when you're using it constantly you do notice the price difference!

not national that's for sure. my little boy is practically drinking this stuff atm along with calpol due to an unfortunate incident, and at £3 a pop its getting expensive! :-(

Be careful, ibuprofen can be harmful if you have it day after day.
I don't think medicines have a best before, just an expiry date which you should adhere to.

Some of the products are close to, or past their Best Before date but what does that mean?
In brief, the best before date is the manufacturers estimate of when the premium quality of its product may start to deteriorate and isn't when it should be discarded.
