Or pay £12 more and get the commercial version with better wheels, a longer power cable and a strong drum.
Great hoovers, especially for DIY use as the bags are massive and really cheap to buy.

Quick question - I just took my Henry out of the box, only to find he is scratched - is this normal?

620 watts... is that powerful enough?
We have a Panasonic 1400 Watt but its too noisy, rubbish at cleaning, nightmare to clean so I am after a new hoover and websites claim that Henry is in top 5 of hoovers AND is by far the cheapest... are they that good?

more powerful than my 1800w one! Bought it around xmas for £90 as well from tesco, hardly a good price..great vacuum, mind you I'm using it as dust extractor in my workshop and it copes superb with commercial tasks running pretty much all day everyday.
also its pretty quiet , actually one of the quietest vacuums on the market!

Can anyone advise if it is worth paying the extra for the commercial version sold on Amazon for £109.99 even though I only plan to use it around the house (3 bedroom semi detached)?
Not in my opinion, our Henry is around 5 years old and still working well(although was repaired under warranty - without proof of purchase, numatic customer service was excellent).

Don't pay £109.99 with Amazon when Avern have it for £99.99.
Yep. There was just a bit more info on the site and I didn't want to promote one company over another.

I just bought Henry today it is £78 at Leeds Tesco Extra. The Hetty is £78 and James is £74 instore. I have a Dyson Animal Cylinder Vacuum it is useless and would never buy a Dyson again. I have tried Henry out today and found it great but only time will tell if it keeps it suction.

I have used Henrys for years. As a girl, we used to live next door to the guy who invented him and when I let them borrow my cassette of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" and it became damaged, they very kindly gave my mother a Henry as a replacement instead. Absolutely brilliant as a cleaner but difficult to fit into the cassette player!!
The face was because one of the young sons though it would look good with a face and so Henry was born. Seriously, when I moved house my parents bought me a Henry as a joint housewarming/birthday gift and he is still going strong more than 15 years later.

I was wondering how well this vacuum cleaner works with re-usable bags. Or is it best to use the disposable ones?

I picked one up off amazon for £13.49 last year waiting for this to drop in price... forgot I had it until you mentioned it - it's in my MONICA FROM FRIENDS CLOSET:wink:

Incorrect. They just use modern motors which are more efficient using less power.

The AiroObrush is the same price with avern as it is with cleanstore (less 1p). Only difference (from the pic) is that it's the black version not red.
Thanks for this link.

I purchased the aerobrush from Amazon for £16.49, it's not that price now though worth setting up a camelcamelcamel alert if you're not in a rush. I find it is much better on carpet than the standard head.
My mum have the older more "powerful" version for the last 10 years whilst I've owned the newer less "powerful" version the last 2 years.
Honestly, I cannot feel that big a different, thus the "..."
Both clears the carpet, laminates and concrete (garage) without any issue. No Hi-Lo switch on the newer one, but that's what the vent on the handle is for, when you need lower suction on floors, you just twist to vent more suction out.
Very good price. Hot!

If you want it for carpets get an Airobrush attachment as these are excellent and make hoovering much easier.

Better to support smaller British businesses too rather than multinational corporations who reportedly pay hardly any tax.
