been in Trafford centre saw in the shop, can't find it online.
both it as described, got now tv with 3 month entertainment pass, plus 3x3 months gift cards for entertainment, and on top 6x2 months gift cards for movies pass.
we still can use 14 days trials on now tv as new users and it up to us to use passes one by one so spread it to 2 years or use entertainment and movies together.
p.s. my first post, so sorry if I did something wrong or miss something

No it isn't illegal ffs!
It isn't illegal to watch any streaming media on the internet - what is illegal is broadcasting the material for people to watch. Get your facts straight!

Buy an Amazon Fire stick for £35, install kodi and a couple of the add ons and you have all the movies and tv shows you could want for free. Once you get used to Kodi you'll never go back to NowTV

Managed to get the same deal in Leamington Spa.
I did this approach. Thanks.
The guy had to check with his manager, but was given the all clear, so long as the total amount was greater than £50.
Wasn't many cards remaining when I went though.
Thanks OP! :sunglasses:

You can go ahead and credit your first pass now and that will come into effect on day 14. Once day 14 has passed you should log into your account and it will tell you when the pass(es) you have applied will expire. Just make sure that around 48 hours before that expiry date you apply the next pass. To be sure of not getting charged subscription if the date of expiry falls on a weekend or bank holiday I'd credit my next pass on the Wednesday before.
Oh and you don't have to credit passes to each box. Your account is valid for up to four logins. So you can use the same account on two boxes, an iPad app and an Xbox app with just the one pass.

Quick question: I've ditched Sky and signed up with NowTV today for my free 14 day trial (entertainment). I have two boxes, each with six month passes which I intend to use over the next year. How do I actually cancel my subscription so I don't get charged £6.99 p/m at the end of the 14 day trial?

Iv just left Oldham store they have lots in stock. I bought the deal for £55. He said the deal ends in 2 days. He also said that he wasn't ment to put the deal through as you need spend over £50 to qualify for the passes to be £5 each. You can get the passes for £5 each if you spend over £50 on any other item so with getting if you already have a now tv box and need to stock up on them. They don't have a time limit either and can be used on up to 4 devices so can be used on Xbox and mobile or tablets. Great deal much cheaper than sky

Just left curry's chichester. The deal is valid until 27/04. You do not need to spend over 50 for it to work it seems. He found the deal and enabled me to get 2 entertainment passes. I have 1 6 month in use at the moment so they would be void if I bought any more. I didn't need to get the box either! Thanks very much op!

First time post, so please don't shoot me down ;-) - I had also success yest - £55 all-in at Leicester's Fosse-Park branch.
To summarise most/all previous comments, and give some updates:
- Yes, many stores/staff are unware of this 'customer offer', incl. the manager, so do persevere;
- However, once you find that one knowledgeable person in-store, all falls into place;
- Yes, it is a bit if a fuss to find / scan / validate / process but worth it in the end;
- The asistant here was reluctant to vary the mix of passes but I'm sure they can;
- The key point to remember here is getting them to process it as a 'customer offer' - which then drops the 'box price' to £10, and each of the 'passes' to £5;
- Most important: it would appear that no one has noticed the fine print on the back of each voucher: "Voucher must be redeemed within 1 year of purchase otherwise void";
- Therefore, updating the last comment from 'Grange56': "each and every voucher card will be scanned into the till at purchase - to validate the purchase and activate them - so the 12 months definitely starts then";
- I would therefore like to think that the last voucher can be redeemed up to one day short of one year from purchase.
Hope this helps.

Tried this and got it at York Clifton moor on Friday.
Not quite the same because the assistant wasn't prepared to apply the box reduction to £10 offer as you need to buy a TV first, vouchers reduced to £5 when you buy a box is valid still though.
So a box with 3 months entertainment for £19.95, then 3x3month entertainment and 6x2 month movies for £5 each, totalling £64.95 ain't bad.
only bought 12 months of vouchers as it says on the nowtv site you can only apply each voucher as the one before it is about to end. I know some folk have said you can use them after 12 months but didn't want to risk it. the voucher cards were each scanned into the till at purchase so maybe the 12 months starts then.. who knows. I'll see what offers are on in 11 months time anyway...
Yes scanning each item through and applying the customer offer to each can take a few minutes but you don't need to take it to the main till, any console in the store will do so to don't have a line of folk behind you.
The chappie did mention that it looks like the box's are getting reduced to £5 themselves next week by nowtv, but that offer may or may not arrive he said.
(I know, should've waited to buy the box, but I don't pass by the store very often, and the voucher offer may of ended by then, who knows)

I have got this deal as I mentioned further up the comments.
You need to be polite, patient and pick someone who looks like they know what they're doing.
I acted vague, did NOT mention anything about seeing it on here and just said my friend had been in a local Currys and got this deal and would they do the same? It helps if you bring everything you need to the counter and mention it before they start scanning it all. It's a faff for the staff to do and if they've had a memo telling them not to then of course you might get pushback. Just try your best and be prepared to get rejected.

I got 1x NowTV box with a 3 month entertainment pass included for £10 (they have an offer button that brings it down from £19.99 then they individually scan the additional cards reducing them with the offer button one at a time.)
6x 2 month movie passes for £5 each (total £30)
3x 3 month entertainment passes for £5 each (total £15)
So everything for £55 in total.
Wasn't easy though, had to speak to a few different people until one could do it. I tried to get just the cards at first but was turned down, they mentioned that NowTV had told them to stop doing it.

It is illegal to watch streaming content unless it is licensed. The argument they give is, when streaming, technically you are downloading. You can't watch without some form of download happening. A smart lawyer can easily win this argument. (They often do have smart lawyers).
However, they not tend to catch people who are streaming illegally, but it is illegal nonetheless.

This is definitely store-dependent, so I'd chance your arm, those of you yet to try and get the deal. I have actually tested this over the last 2 nights, trying to watch the footy, using a FireStick preloaded with the Apollo build of Kodi. It isn't perfect, and you have to search through a lot of dead links before you find the game you are interested in. The quality was watchable. For movies it was much better, with decent quality. Tons of other stuff too (categorised music, fitness, yoga etc.). But, IPTV for around £80 may be better for live footy.
I rang up head office to ask if other stores, were doing it, she wasn't sure, so I emailed her a link to this page, but she's not emailed back yet.

By whom? Caching is inherently 'downloading'.
I did have a quick look at this and pseudo-streaming i.e. where any part of the data is stored is considered to be illegal. Of course one could immediately clear cache after the browser is closed but the viewer has still done something illegal. Whether it's been prosecuted yet or not does change this fact: if one were to speed and were not prosecuted it doesn't change the fact that one has speeded.

Hi everyone
Got this yesterday evening from Currys Blackpool. The Now TV box had 2 months movies free so I bought 5 2 months Sky Movies passes and 4 3 month entertainment passes. Each of those passes were £5 and were from a stand on the counter. The stand did say they were only £5 if you bought £50 of other merchandise but that wasn't the case.
Had to talk the guy through it but he was very patient and helpful.

I've been considering NOWTV for a while.
What would I miss out on if I were to ditch SKY for this? I know I won't get HD but my main concern is how quickly NOWTV get the new shows, is each episode available pretty much as soon as they have aired on SKY or do you have to wait until the season ends?
EDIT
Also, would I have access to previous seasons or only the most current?
coletterutledge to konkywonky

You can watch it in real time, you don't get as many channels but you get the same content on the ones you do. All box sets etc are still available. The only thing is you can pause/record.
bilbob to konkywonky
17 Apr 162#16
You get access to fewer channels than the full entertainment pack, but you can watch live or get the same catch up and box set selection as you would on sky, reduced channel selection provided for.
All the main stuff is there imo.
brookysm to konkywonky
17 Apr 161#62
The picture quality on channels like Arts, One, Fox and Atlantic is very good - the stream is 720p if you have a decent broadband speed. We've just sacked off Sky as it was £47 for the family pack and 1 multiroom, now have 2 years worth of codes that cost less than £80 and it includes all the channels we used to watch. The only thing I'd say we've lost is HD on Channel 5 which is pretty poor anyway and the ability to record but then again with so many channels available on catchup that really isn't an issue.
brookysm to konkywonky
17 Apr 16#66
You get it the moment it's live - NowTV isn't just catchup and boxsets, its live streaming. As for boxsets, it varies - some are complete, some only partial but then again Sky is exactly the same too.
Lord vader to konkywonky
18 Apr 16#158
Its 720P which is pretty decent. They have 'Live' Tv so whatever is on sky is on Now TV. You also get boxsets (Not as full a range as on Sky) plus all the catchup players.
I have just left Sky as I was paying £39.99 a month for HD with the Family package . Now tv will now cost me £36 a year for almost the same channels (well the ones I watch, Atlantic, Sky 1,MTV ,Comedy channel and Fox).
You do need decent broadband as its all streaming.

19 Apr 16#259
We use Now Tv and you can watch the Sky Channels Live. For example 10pm Sky Living on a Monday is out fave Criminal minds. Just select the channel and it's streaming. Some programmes has restrictions but there's no master list. We sacked sky 2 years ago as we only watched certain channels and now tv covers this. It's also cheaper to buy 3/6 monthly vouchers rather than paying per month. Also finding bargain deals on the Now TV boxes and only using the vouchers. We have a stash of them as it's often cheaper!

Good intentions and all but now due to this the deal has been changed. It wasn't online due to it being an in store promotion. dwattsy21
18 Apr 161#229
Hi guys, just been in store and done this, hopefully this helps as it's far from straight forward... it's not a promoted deal at all, more of a glitch! It's not a case of it not being available in some branches... you just need to take the items to the til yourself and tell the operator what to do, as they won't know about it!
Basically take the below to a till...
1 x now tv box with 3 months entertainment pass included (orange box)
3 x £15 entertainment passes (3 months each)
6 x £15 sky movies passes (2 months each)
Note, the colour of the cards can vary, so go on the price and type (movies etc)
At the till say "my friend said this all comes in on a special offer. He said after you can each one there is customer offer that takes the cards down to £5 each, then the box down to £10".
Whoever is on the checkout will then have to try various offers on the cards and box but should eventually get it for £55. It might take 5 mins so expect some grumpy looks from those in the queue behind, but who cares I've just got a years worth of sky tv for much less than I was paying a month! Thanks op!
Treefitty to dwattsy21
19 Apr 162#243
To bring this thread back to its point
Just followed dwattsy21's advice and got a set!! Well chuffed.
You tell them your fried saw it in Trafford advertised and got a set and show them a picture of you need a convincer. Say the member of staff told him that you have to add the offer for each item and it all discounts down. He said he knew a way to get it down and started to process it. Confirmed though it's more of a glitch and they shouldn't do it. Don't think it will be long before a HO email goes out telling them to stop.
I did say to him I bet this will boost your NOWTV sales for the day. I am guessing they are monitored on it.
Be prepared it's a slow process and people in the queue and the staff member may start to get frustrated  lol
Good luck !!

It has nothing to do with getting away with it! You consider walking down the street as getting away with it because that is just as illegal as streaming from the web!
reddit
19 Apr 16#236
In terms of parroting, it was simply the first link that I found, so not parroting at all.
The finding of the court is not actually quite as clear and unambiguous as you think.
"If the user only views it directly through a web browser, streaming it from a website that hosts it, he or she is apparently doing nothing wrong"
Not the use of Web browser only.
Many addons do not utilise the functionality of a Web browser and therefore their use would be deemed illegal in such circumstances.
However you look at it though, if anybody actually think that viewing copyrighted content for free, without intention of paying for it, as would be intended by the copyright holder, then it does say something very apt about the moral compass under which they operate.
Just as much of the tax avoidance issues, which may be deemed legal, do not sit well with those who operate a reasonable moral compass.
Just because there is a loophole that makes something legal, does not make it right.
The higher EU court has of course been petitioned by the CJEU, so we may well yet see the original judgement overturned.

By the time I'd added the private channel, TVplayer had blocked it on the Roku.
I'm assuming there's a more relevant forum about this, where I could express my opinion to TVplayer that I'll not be using their service in any shape or form until it's on my Roku.
Saying that, I can understand them not wanting the advertising bypassed. Could be they are just not ready for streaming boxes - they need to present ads before you stream and have never bothered to think it through.
And no doubt Roku's Ts&Cs may have been broken since they cover everything imaginable.
Anyway oUkTuRkEyIII you've demo'd the proof of concept and put the ball in TVplayer's court, there's no cost or tech reason for not allowing the Roku, but they want to be the dog in the manger for the time being.

This deal is easy to achieve - the NowTV box discounts down to £10 from £20 & the cards down to £5 each at any store - I have literally just got back now (Telford) & you can see my pictures as evidence...
The in-store operative / assistant doesn't need senior approval (i.e. a Manager); he/she just needs to check the Customer Offers button as each item is scanned in - on the terminal - and the pre-determined discount is readily applied and needs no further approval.
Each card discounts down to £5 & the NowTV box to £10 ... totalling £55

It's an obvious point, but Sky's point of view, they don't want all their lucrative monthly Sky Sports subscribers disappearing, so they've priced the NOW TV sports prices accordingly - they want to attract new customers, rather than have existing customers abandon their Sky subscriptions and become occasional NOW TV customers.

I don't think box ones expire, the last one I used was purchased in July 2014, had two and used one in Dec and one thus month. I suspect they have two years + shelf life. Gift cards if the data goes back to sky, might have a shorter life as you described.

Well I have to disagree on that. I've tried streaming the football on various devices (including my desktop PC with an ethernet connection) both here and at a friends with internet speeds at 7 and 20mbps and still have loads of issues with the streams buffering. Most of the time they get worse as the games progress (possibly due to more and more people leaving other poor streams and coming over to that one) and have frequent issues, often making them unwatchable. I've tried various different builds and all the addons that they have (probably tried about 30ish).
I've also tried to optimise kodi through Ares Wizards settings.
So if you've a magic cure or an addon that works when the others fail? Please post it up on here and I'll happily try it out.

Yeah, I just tried two stores and managed to get it in the second store.
The first one didn't have these 2 month and 3 months cards but had newer, longer duration cards which didn't work when they tried to scan them through.
The second store I went to, she just started scanning through the cards and it worked so she just kept scanning. I got 6 x 2 month movie cards and 5 x 3 month entertainment cards plus the 3 months with the box.
I could have bought every card they had and she wouldn't have minded but I didn't as I figured I'd leave some for someone else.
That said, I don't really want these movie ones. I'd much rather more entertainment pass cards. Should have stacked them instead.
Anyone else who got the deal, fancy swapping some movies for some entertainment?

got it last night for this specific reason, doesnt really keep up in comparison to a bluray, but the 720p is bearable at least. The only 'niggle' in comparison to netflix is that it keeps the 'advert' header where it flashes up "game of thrones" and at least once on each episode you get a random sequence advertising the channel for like 10 secs. So it may be nationwide, but if you don't see it in your local, ask an employee.

I do this with a mate who lives nearby. We buy the boxes for the passes when they're on offer (got 10+ in the loft) and share the device allocation so it usually works out at less than a fiver a month each for both Movies and Entertainment.

*sigh* It really isn't. Did you even bother reading the court judgement? It's been two years since this was all decided, it baffles me people are still making up these nonsense (and wrong) interpretations of the law. What facts are you basing your opinion on?
Parallax
18 Apr 16#103
It depends whether you are the originator who is obtaining the content and redistributing it - that may well be illegal.
But watching the streamed content is definitely legal in the EU (or, if you prefer, not illegal).
Parallax
18 Apr 16#102
That carefully doesn't say it's illegal. It says it's theft, which is quite different. Either way, instead of parroting the deliberately misleading words of the shill of the content industry, isn't it easier just to read the dozens of articles that repeat and analyse the very clear and unambiguous finding of the court?

Nope, the add ons (they are not apps) are perfectly legal. There's nothing illegal about watching any stream be it movie, sport or otherwise - the only time it does become illegal is if you save the stream to a drive. British copyright law is an ass.

18 Apr 16#89
May I add one thing to your comment of legality, as the internet has no point of origin and you can get away with streaming US TV shows. Where it gets very unclear is the streaming of films! this is the one people can argue with & this in not legal. It has been brought up many times and using kodi is not illegal but ceratin apps are likes of sports devil & phoenix, basically anything that show live subscription channels (I have a box but dont use it for live TV). I pay for sky much to my irritation as my wife and son watch it more than me.

They are valid for a year from purchase, thing is Sky don't know when the voucher was purchased so they last much longer than this and even if the code doesn't work a quick chat with online help that confirms the code hadn't been used will result in a new code given.

I've just cancelled sky and moved fully to NowTV can get entertainment and movies for about £11 a month (go through options online to leave and they offer for cheaper per month).
Shows are either live or when you want.
Works for me as the only channels we watch are the ones offered on the entertainment package and I rarely watch live TV anyway.
Now saving myself £32 per month, probably more through offers like this for NowTV.

we still can use 14 days trials on now tv as new users and it up to us to use passes one by one so spread it to 2 years or use entertainment and movies together.

The guy had to check with his manager, but was given the all clear, so long as the total amount was greater than £50.
Wasn't many cards remaining when I went though.

To summarise most/all previous comments, and give some updates:
- Yes, many stores/staff are unware of this 'customer offer', incl. the manager, so do persevere;
- However, once you find that one knowledgeable person in-store, all falls into place;
- Yes, it is a bit if a fuss to find / scan / validate / process but worth it in the end;
- The asistant here was reluctant to vary the mix of passes but I'm sure they can;
- The key point to remember here is getting them to process it as a 'customer offer' - which then drops the 'box price' to £10, and each of the 'passes' to £5;
- Most important: it would appear that no one has noticed the fine print on the back of each voucher: "Voucher must be redeemed within 1 year of purchase otherwise void";
- Therefore, updating the last comment from 'Grange56': "each and every voucher card will be scanned into the till at purchase - to validate the purchase and activate them - so the 12 months definitely starts then";
- I would therefore like to think that the last voucher can be redeemed up to one day short of one year from purchase.
Hope this helps.
Got 8 now tv boxes.
9 movies passes and 7 entertainment passes.
Shame my battery died otherwise I woukd have taken advantage of the o2 priority moments code.
Thanks.op
Has anyone had any luck in the Bedfordshire or Buckinghamshire region?? Would be really grateful if anyone could steer me in the right direction to land this.
However, they not tend to catch people who are streaming illegally, but it is illegal nonetheless.
Great deal .... Thanks guys

Gutted, really wanted this for my sons bedroom.
It's definitely available in any store that has stock providing you find a staff member who's willing and able to do it.
The only legal alternative is buying films for download e.g. Wuaki or buying the DVD/Blu-ray.
And its definitely a scratch card job ..... lol.
Ps.
Go onto Now TV and get your 2 Weeks FREE Trail in of either the Entertainment Package, or the Movie Package, etc, before then wasting your 12 Months worth of Codes via this Boxed Package?, or ..... (food for thought that, huh?, hehehe), lol. :-)
Do the vouchers start from when you purchase or are they the ones you scratch?
the question is do you use all of the vouchers all at once, or use it wait for it to run out and use it another?
http://nowtv.com/slating
There are hardly any programmes that aren't available on Now TV nowadays though. When it first launched, an awful lot of stuff wasn't available, but that isn't the case any more.
All the main stuff is there imo.
You have to spend £50 or more on one product then you can have the now tv box and cards reduced to make £55.
So it'll be £105 including whatever you buy to get the deal
Perfect start to day , now have 4yrs of each.... lol
Now the question i have is can i return any of the now tv boxes ?
They won't be able to deactivate the cards I would guess so would be interesting.
Tbh for £10 with a pass makes it only a fiver, must be worth that on eBay surely.
Or load one up sign in and then give it to a friend or relative as one of your two viewing screens. Charge then £10 a month and your both quids in!
I'm gonna use both mine so not an issue. Ll
Other store as you say we just a right jobsworth who wasn't interested.
Go for the more casual looking guy I say, someone down to earth who look ls like they been there a while like a supervisor but still quite young so understands how to play the system. That's what my guy was but not management or anything.
Thanks op!
Only just realised after reading this thread that my 'you view DTR-T2000' has a 'now tv' app (maybe a recent addition) ---- streaming from the humax is excellent,i must admit the remote can be described as clunky but i can only recommend the player itself.
- Worked in Merry Hill.
Thanks for the tip, Motomix, this is a blinding deal. All sorted for GoT now. :innocent:
Sorry I'm a newbie for pics & posts
The in-store operative / assistant doesn't need senior approval (i.e. a Manager); he/she just needs to check the Customer Offers button as each item is scanned in - on the terminal - and the pre-determined discount is readily applied and needs no further approval.
Each card discounts down to £5 & the NowTV box to £10 ... totalling £55
Cheers this might do for me, only want it for game of thrones
Thanks, I'll have to look into it. We mainly use it for the rugby league so would need it regular during the season which I imagine would be expensive
Might try again because it's such a good deal, but not looking good here.
Yet to secure the deal but will go hunting later.
I've also tried to optimise kodi through Ares Wizards settings.
So if you've a magic cure or an addon that works when the others fail? Please post it up on here and I'll happily try it out.
The card says "must be redeemed within 1 year of purchase otherwise void". Well that doesn't say they can't stack for longer than 12 months on your account.
If you get a second and can upload a snap of your receipt it would be much appreciated as really want this and I will go for third time lucky
Would be greatly appreciative!
Now TV isn't (1080) HD and has no Dolby Surround. It'll look and sound worse than BBC 1.
Great content, very cheap but poor quality :disappointed:
It's rubbish and most people who used to use XBMC have moved on to IPTV and Plex streaming.
Not much discussion of the actual deal (as in how many have got it). Lots of heat if it is available at multiple stores, if it was the last couple of boxes at one store not so much.

and instore...

Oops misread your post, ignore...
As others have mentioned, some stores are doing it regardless of the £50 spend.
Good luck.
I went to my local currys (St Helens), didn't see this deal anywhere but showed this thread to one of the employees who told me as soon as he read the title "yeah, we do have it"
Picked an entertainment box and 3 more entertainment vouchers, also 6 movie vouchers. He had to run them through the computer one by one and had to apply the promotion to each one but in the end it came to £55 in total.
So it may be nationwide, but if you don't see it in your local, ask an employee.
He applied a promotion through their computer to all these vouchers.
What they did have on display was 12 months movies + box for £35.
Hope this helps!.
Note: You have to ask the guy about it in about it, since there is nothing shown about the offer.
Hope this helps anyone in Newcastle

I wish!
But watching the streamed content is definitely legal in the EU (or, if you prefer, not illegal).
I'll have to Google plex as well.
(Seriously hot if you can find it though!)

And thanx too OP. :-)
£140 for all that sounds very attractive.
ref kodi. can we very Hit/miss. sports can be but decent sports streams seem to come/go. movies. seem slightly. better.

It isn't illegal to watch any streaming media on the internet - what is illegal is broadcasting the material for people to watch. Get your facts straight!
Using Kodi on its own is legal.
Using the different servers or add-ons available to stream or download copyrighted content for free is illegal.

Don't just repeat what you hear.
Besides the legality the quality on a NowTV box is far better than the often dire Kodi streams, I honestly don't know how people can enjoy watching films in lower than SD quality. Even the HD streams are no better than 720p half the time.
I have 2 now tv boxes in my house and a couple of unused 3 month passes, so I will be starting to use them again.
I might look to buy one of these as my boxes are the old white ones and I heard that the black versions are supposed to be better.
Heat added
I have Sky downstairs, but am so glad I can now watch Dave upstairs on my spare telly. Have an aerial but it can only receive very few Freeview channels.
The FilmOn logo in the top right is a little large for my liking, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Shows are either live or when you want.
Works for me as the only channels we watch are the ones offered on the entertainment package and I rarely watch live TV anyway.
Now saving myself £32 per month, probably more through offers like this for NowTV.
Edit: changed your mind now!
